Tbh a shiny would probably be annoying because it adds like half a second to each encounter, and that will add up. A 1 hour grinding session could be a solid 3-4 minutes longer just because of the shiny animation

Never got a shiny charm but using masuda method it's never taken more than an hour or two to get my shiny. RNGesus hates you lol

Jacob Schmidt soft reset for a torchic full odds, took me 4 days. worth it, love my shiny blaziken (even though the shiny kinda sucks but i dig the darker color)

*LA SHORE* Bouffalant has a great movepool? Head Charge, Superpower, Stone Edge, Megahorn, Earthquake, Iron Head, Poison Jab, Wild Charge, & Outrage? That’s half of all types.
*LA SHORE* I wouldn’t say trash.
*LA SHORE* 95/95/95 defenses is pretty solid, though, especially for something offensively built. Plus, who relies only on STAB to use moves effectively?
*LA SHORE* Literally the first move I mentioned is STAB (you’re probably thinking of Head Smash, the Rock Type move). A good movepool is commonly defined as one that supports the Pokémon’s role: in Bouffalant’s case, a wall breaker wants a lot of coverage. What else does it need? It has high power STAB & coverage plus set up with Swords Dance. There’s a lot of Pokémon who could use the aforementioned moves better, true, but it does still help it out because, like you said, Normal isn’t the best typing offensively.
I’m not denying that it’s pretty mediocre compared to other Normal Types though so I do agree with you there as well with preferring Tauros over Bouffalant.

Gen V challenges are just something else. This was really cool. Having a full team just gives so many cool options, even when the Pokémon themselves aren’t necessarily good.

I just realized these videos are basically "What if npc trainers beat the game"...
That is a cool concept actually. Pick out a trainer NPC (or a Gym leader, why not?) that stands out for some reason and try to beat the game they are in with their team. So much potential!

@@aaron2k026 Only Hydreigon was important to me, because I *an actual native German speaker* told a friend of MDB in the comments of both their Black and White randomizer, how it is pronounced and he replied back.

Usually shiny hunting is not done in ROM hacks though. Because you cannot keep the Chinese and transfer them up to the newest games. Shiny Hunters are like pretty much any other kind of collector most of the point of it is to be able to keep your special variant Pokemon for freaking ever

I'm half way into the video when I heard you say Joltik was one of your favorite gen 5 Pokémon. This makes me happy because it's my favorite bug type. I did a bug type only run of Ultra Moon and was lucky enough to hatch a shiny Joltik using the maseuda method after 15 tries. I named her Tes as sort of a pun ,Tes being short for Tesla, and her mother was named Jewlz.
Edit: I finished the video and I'm honestly shocked hearing Hydreigon is weak to bug, it makes sense type wise but it's shocking to me to imagine a Weedle TECHNICALLY being able to defeat it.

It's been forever since I've played Gen 5 but if I remember correctly the mystery egg is a Larvesta and it's Evolution was like a pseudo legendary it even had its own cutscene I think that eas kind of cool

Dude, ALL of the bug pokemon in gen 5 were just the coolest. I remember begging my cousin to trade with me so I could get cavalier (karrablast's evolution) and I loved every other bug mon as well.
Saw the comment at the beginning about the Shuckle video. Rewatching that one next.
That shiny starter is fake, you didn't yell "Let's GO!" 30 times, posted it on twitter, clipped it on Twitch and uploaded that clip on RUclips extending it to just over 10 seconds for the ad revenue.
In all seriousness, I really respect your dedication to these challenges. It's what makes your videos so damn good to watch.

Honestly one of my favorite Pokémon, and it basically swept the elite four for me.

that leaf blade from leavanny will make anyone regret looking down on it....
I ran into someone on showdown waaay back in the day with, if I remember right of course, Endure/Flail/Fell Stinger/Leaf Blade, with the Swarm ability, a speed boosting nature, and under the effects of Tailwind. That was absolutely nuts to see in action, for sure. I always liked the sewaddle family just cos they’re cute, but seeing them perform well was really great too
As a person who’s absolutely in love with bug types this video is like a mini dream come true.

I would love to see a pokemon Challenge using only the first forms of the fossil pokemon of Gen 5. Mostly because i enjoy your fossil gag whenever it comes up
this is my favourite run, my all time favourite Sewaddle is in here, Bugs are my favourite types and even a shiny Sewaddle!!!, those were 1/8192 luck, you're lucky ;)
