Thank you Judge Penny for putting cameras in the courtroom. It's mindblowing how the media keeps twisting as if we the people didn't watch the trial. Imagine how badly it would have turned out for Johnny without the broadcasting and only reports from the media.

Wow! Can you imagine what Kelly would have said if there was even one recording of JD admitting to hitting Heard? Instead we get this snide contempt because truth won out in the day. Megan Kelly would still be happy to see Depp lose with no evidence and Heard is not an “imperfect” victim she’s a violent disgusting abuser. Men are always to blame.
The evidence was CLEAR. AMBER lied on every front. They could not find dirt on Johnny. Jury got it right.
There’s dirt as well for Johnny but right from the start they’ve admitted it unlike Ambuser. She’s drug dependent as well and no doubt alcoholic but not really admitted to it except when she was pinned down about the staged cocaine.
I have to say I don't think it's possible to rule out that JD was abusive: it's like a lot of abusive relationships, there is a dynamic that they can both be participating in, and often both are, including physically. However, I think given what I did see of the court case (not all of it), that Amber Heard seemed to lie a fair bit and there was more evidence of her direct emotional and physical abuse than his. For what it's worth, I don't disagree with the jury's verdict.
Megyn is projecting her own traumas, due to the horrible things she experienced. She (and some people) seems to be unwilling to believe a man can be clean of all accusations, no matter how clear the evidence is. A man has to be at least "a little bit dirty", "a little bit guilty". She's biased, unfortunatelly. Johnny Depp did absolutely nothing wrong, apart from marrying that woman.
They implied she lost because of her legal team and her PR team, which had nothing to do with this case, her lies were exposed plain and simple

She's not the victim, she's an abuser and an opportunist with no morals. Being an addict doesn't make you a wife beater. Her own tapes made me sick to my stomach. He didn't deserve the emotional and physical abuse he endured throughout the years. She used him and abused him, as simple as that.

No I think Megyn's guest nailed it - she's both. That's a pretty common background of abusers, that they were themselves abused repeatedly by someone close to them. That's how a lot of them pick up the behavior themselves. I have little doubt that she's been abused. I just don't think Depp's her abuser. I think it goes back a lot further than that.

Amber seems really narcissistic. I know of a relationship much like this. The female is much like Amber. She verbally is abusive and really eggs on the male. He puts up with it until he explodes and may throw something and yell back but never hits her. From the recordings of Amber constantly belittling and badgering Johnny I believe he may lose it and throw something or yell obscenities. I just don’t see Amber bring a victim of physical or sexual abuse. Most victims of that are meek and their self esteem is beaten down. My mom was a victim of that. I have a very loving spouse but if I badgered, belittled and even got physical with him, he wouldn’t take it. He would hit me but he wouldn’t take it either.

Not only that, I'm certain if she didn't take the stand that the jury would've ruled in her favor. All she had to do was convince the jury that Johnny abused her one time. But once she got up there with her horrible acting and over-the-top stories, they lost all trust in her. When she took the stand, the whole momentum of the trial switched in Johnny's favor. The only person Amber should be blaming is herself, but of course as a narcissist she'll never do that.

I hear what you're saying Megyn and generally I would agree with you. But my take away is that Amber gaslighted him with her friends from the start. (warning to middle aged men... 20somethings don't think you're hot, they think your star power and money are hot). She outsmarted him and got him on the hook but ultimately, she took it too far. I think the claim she actually won, is the one that holds the most truth. It was all a set up and he fell for it, but then he lost all his money, wanted a post nup and she really doesn't like dudes and the relationship went to hell. I do believe she was probably the ONLY woman that ever triggered him and we see the result. She taunted and attacked. She screwed all real victims. But you said, if she owned even one wrong, she would have done better. She shot herself her own feet. An unbelievable liar and got caught, over and over. Obviously Megyn did not watch the whole trial or even evidence that was not allowed to be introduced in trial; namely Jennifer Howell's sworn statements about the staircase incident, the perjury with the dogs going to Australia and actually being arrested for assaulting her wife at the airport and going to jail. However, the evidence presented in court was beyond a reasonable doubt that Amber was the abuser both mentally and more importantly physically. Also, if Johnny was such an abuser why would he have all of Amber's friends and sister stay on the same floor as her? So many witnesses to his supposed abuse. Probably, this is the only thing Johnny's lawyers did not emphasize emphatically.

I really must disagree with you and it pains me. She may be an imperfect victim but she's got a lying problem and anyone who watched the whole trial (raises hand) could see reasonable doubt with her story. Yes his team out lawyered possibly but her team just didn't have enough to work with. There's a lot of other subtle things. And Rottenborn did a fantastic closing. The jury didn't buy their case.
Megyn saying there is a chance Johnny is in the wrong obviously did not watch the case and the overwhelming evidence of abuse. We all had the added benefit of knowing about her perjury in Australia and assault on her wife in the airport which the jury did not get. Also, we have Jennifer Howell's sworn statement that completely refutes the staircase narrative which again was not introduced. Anyone with any semblance of critical thought would believe anything that would come out of such a narcissistic and psychopathic defendant. Moreover, by the metric that Megyn uses probably the vast majority of marriages would be abusive by that standard.
JD had a level of trust with his team that AH did not. Team Heard allowed themselves to be bullied by their client and made poor decisions throughout the trial. JD just showed up, sat down and drew in his sketchbook with complete confidence that his team knew best.
Closing argument by Depp side was methodical, linear and had a cohesive theme. Team Heard was meandering, rushed and desperate.
With reference to your if johnny did one of those things...you're discounting everything that Amber did to him.

I watched most of the trial. Having done so, it was abundantly clear that he was the victim. I doubt that he's without fault but listening to her goading him, talking about hitting him, the evidence about Heard abusing her ex-partner and her sister and then how she had never mentioned sexual abuse when she took out the TRO but that accusation only arose when the Washington Post article came out. It's undeniable that he said/wrote some terrible things but how likely is it that the rest of us would do such a thing in response to constant abuse and lastly why would you marry a man who was already abusing you?

I don’t think that his money and his legal team played as much of a role in the outcome. Agree, she lied many, many times. The difference in the legal teams was that Johnny’s team BELIEVED in him and I didn’t get that feeling from Amber’s team. I think Amber felt she knew better than anyone in the courtroom
If you go through their court filings, you will find her team knew for fact that she was lying over and over again.

So you mean to say, that as lawyers, you would normally suggest to your client to dress the “part” in order to convince a jury. But isn’t this what both of you are criticizing? You want the victim to speak the truth, and that’s what matters, no matter what they wear.
Johnny Depp didn’t win because he has more money or because he acted better. He won because we heard the audios of Amber clearly taunting him to continue fighting, we heard her admit she hit him, we saw her being unfaithful in the elevator, we saw her in court contradicting her stories, we saw her lie. So what if she’s a woman. There are many women out there just like her, who have destroyed men just because they weren’t getting their way. It’s as simple as that. And I’m happy that it was televised so we could see with our own eyes how people lie and get away with it.
This will not affect DV victims, I believe this will help tremendously. We are all innocent till proven guilty.

Ms. Kelly is asking an excellent question. However, it’s easy to answer taking everything surrounding the two of them into consideration. The one who was utterly ruined was Depp. Had Heard chosen not to write that article, she’d still be an ambassador to women’s rights, and a champion of donations with many movie roles. If someone uses the truth to destroy you, the fault lies with you. The most damning evidence wasn’t how Amber dressed or looked. On voice recordings, there was not shred of a doubt she had no fear of that man and she was criminally abusive. As far as I’m concerned, she should be in prison for bodily harm to her ex husband and ex wife, perjury, assault on her secretary, destruction of property, smuggling dog to Australia, to say the least.

He said that if she continued to accuse him of abuse “which he said at the time was untrue” then the act of clearing his name would bring her global humiliation because the world would see she was lying.
He was offering her a way out, via a joint statement, before she took it too far. She chose to continue to accuse him.
Amber's lack of connection to her legal team signalled to me they thought she was full of BS.

Johnny Depp didn’t threaten her with global humiliation, but tried to warn her of the humiliation that would come after the world heard and saw the truth if they went to court. She tried to use that recording to say he threatened this, but when you listen to the whole recording, he’s trying to convince her to not go to court (divorce) and to try to work out their own settlement. Context makes a difference.
Megan your own broadcasts were back and forth. on what party was guilty. I am a DA survivor from a 16 year relationship. As soon as I watched Amber testify I knew she was the abuser...those tapes were just the icing on the cake. If I would have talked my abuser that way, I wouldn't be here to write this email. I was lucky to get out with my life and after much therapy was able to understand I am some kind of worthy human being.

I had a hard time listening to this. This wasn’t acting on Johnnys part. I have a borderline in my life and they are awful. They abuse everyone in their path. Everyone.
Johnny is an avoidant. I am most positive he drove her crazy with his inability to stay present and sober. He triggered her childhood wounds, and visa versa. These types of relationships are in place all over the world. A wounded empath and a borderline is the human magnet syndrome. amber durd clearly was reffering to JD when she said in 20018 "2 years ago I was the victim of domestic abuse" clearly reffering to her false claims in 2016 and not abuse during her growing up

If I had a son looking to get married I would do everything possible to talk him out of it. This comes from a man married to the same woman almost 30 years. The whole system is tilted against you now. Once married, legally she can ruin you and there is little recourse. It just isn't worth it and many, men feel this way now. He would have to be extremely sure and the young lady would have to be impeccable for me to approve.

A thing that concerns me is that there appears to be no consequences for lying under oath. Perjury charges are important. Overall, it would save the justice system time and money if people understood there is a real risk if they do not tell the truth to the best of their ability/memory. What are the next steps and who would bring about those charges in this case?
If it was a criminal case then perjury would be charged. Her consequence for lieing is losing the case, surely that's double jeopardy to throw perjury on top?
