    Also, you can sell your old parts with Square if u don't need them anymore! Items sell for the same price you buy them back with, so it's totally safe.

    This is the third best game in the series in my opinion, and is one of the best starting points for new players, the other best starting point being AC1. It's one of the easier games in the series, without being boring. I highly recommend playing it to 100% completion using a guide for hidden parts and the postgame OP-Intensify part, then transferring the save file into Silent Line Armored Core.

      Which one is the best in the series? Also are the psp versions worth looking into?

    • @mallow2902
      @mallow2902 Год назад +4

      @@brandonhanserd7832 in my opinion the best game in the series is Armored Core Last Raven, but you absolutely should not start with it. It's the hardest entry by far and expects you to have already played most of the games before it.
      On the PSP you have four games. Armored Core Formula Front is a spinoff taking place in a peaceful timeline where ACs are used for sport. It's focused on arena battles and tuning and AI controlled AC to fight battles on its own. I enjoy it, but it's a big departure from the rest of the series. As for the others, Armored Core 3, Silent Line, and Last Raven all got Portable versions. I'm actually currently playing through them right now on my PSP after importing physical copies from Japan. They are generally considered to be not as good as the console counterparts, and I would agree, but I wouldn't say the portable versions are bad. They do have worse controls since the PSP has two fewer buttons and one less analog stick (although on console 3 and Silent Line don't use the right stick. Nexus was the first one to use it), but you can make it work. I have read somewhere that you actually can use both sticks if you're on Vita, but I'm not completely sure about that. The portable versions do have extra parts not seen in the console versions, most of them being returning parts from first and second gen. It's a nice bonus. I do find the portable versions a bit harder mostly because of the worse controls, but it's not unplayable. I am quite enjoying my time with them, especially since I can play them on the go. However, I would say the console versions are what you should play instead if you can, I think most of my enjoyment with the portable versions is heavily influenced by the fact that I played the console versions first. The graphics are better, the controls are better, and the performance is smoother.

      @WatcherMovie008 Год назад +2

      @@mallow2902 Having own all 3 PSP AC games on my Vita, the second analog stick doesn't make the game easier because the games are still restricted to PSP control. Repost of my info from the ACSL Quads video, but it bears repeating
    Old timer Raven here with some advice.
    the CGP-ROZ generator is your friend, it recharges the fastest of all generators, though it's a little on the heavy side. I still manage to stuff it on light and featherweight machines though. Try to keep your machine's overall drain in the Garage menu around the 50% mark for better energy recovery. The RIX-CR10 radiator will get you through most missions, heat isn't really an issue in AC2-ACSL except for specific missions and the Arena.
    I personally prefer the MBT-NI/MARE booster, it's got the best power to weight ratio of any booster other than the MBT-FLEET (I think it's a Mirage part... been a while). The MBT-OX/002 is a fantastic part for putting on lighter machines and quads because it maintains high power while being lower drain. Mastering "bunny hopping" as you called it, officially called "boost hopping" in the fandoom, is the key to getting good at AC2-ACLR's ground game. Pulsing your boosters effectively if you plan to fly a lot is always tricky to get down, but once you do you can be really annoying, many players have trouble with aerial targets in this generation.
    Chainguns are pretty good in this generation of Armored Core, they absolutely shred AP even on high-shell defense machines and they have a ton of heat input plus they're not terribly heavy all things considered. Sustained fire weapons (MGs, Chainguns, etc) are broken as hell in AC2-ACLR in AC vs AC fights, the massive heat input does the majority of the damage for you. Energy Machine Guns have their place, but they can't outshine the shell-based ones.

    I hope enjoy armored core 3, this is pretty damn good for catch people too armored core, tons a good part for many builds, missions are pretty good and well balance(forget that godamn mission in the dam), so get fun with it(suggestion: take a guide because in determined mission are parts in ground but are pretty small so most of the time you can lose it, but don´t worry this weapons are pretty bad in most of the cases is more for money which some weapons can turn a bad reward in a god send)
    3 Pro tip:
    1) Sell parts, the parts sell for the same price from you bought, for example: in your run after defeat the first rival in the arena you get 2 missile better than the basic, and you can sell it for around 40000 credits
    2) Energy Weapons, ARE GOD SEND FOR CREDITS because this class of weapon beside to be pretty powerful don´t consume credits per shot, but here is the catch are power hungry or in other words consume energy meter for shot
    3) In contrast to armored core 2, you can check the specification of the parts with a button that display the list of stats, for example in weapons you can check what is the cost of the ammo

    • @ruikiri
      @ruikiri  Год назад

      Ive seen optional parts that increase energy weapon damage, would you consider this "mandatory" to take full advantage of them? Considering they dont waste money on ammo, i guess it would be ok to spend more on a "build" that wouldnt waste as much money in the long run

I practiced dodging missiles in the easier missions to get used to it. My friends couldn't touch me with missiles when we battled 😂 the 1000 round machine gun will carry you through most missions and a good missile launcher with a solid FCS. @@ruikiri LR is the last PS2 title and is the last one in the third generation series I would highly suggest if you are going to take a break from it that you should eventually go back to it and try it it's pretty good it's the culmination of all the third-generation in PS2 games before the game's design switches gears

      @@ethanspaziani1070 the thing with last raven is that ive heard that it is some of fromsoftwares hardest pieces of videogame media and that has multiple endings ... and not only the first part sounds like a headache already xb but if there are multiple endings then i will for sure have to try and go for more than one plauthrough because they all shed light in the same scenario... i saw Above average gaming's video on it, and i honestly really like the concept but a series on it would be some work... im not saying it wont happen, it probably will :) but not soon

    you should have just started with AC4 and then play 4 Answer, it's all high Octane action. the customization is freaking great and Japanese players will shit on you in online multiplayer. Probably the reason why no one liked AC5 becasue it was so slow and didn't really build on what AC4 brought to the francize

      Thats actually why i started with ps2 games, because i feel like if i were to start with 4 or 5, then these gems would probably feel like a downgrade and i wasnt sure if i would feel like playing them afterwards

      No he shouldn't have, those games spoil you for appreciating the older games. 4th gen is smoother sure but the story and vibe isnt as great as AC2 and 3 in my opinion. Now that he's played these two he should play 4th gen and THEN he'll have a great idea of what AC6 is probably going to feel like gameplay and aesthetic wise.
