Who else is here before we play the Heels tonight in DC? Opportunity for first title since this one here.
@romanwalker3801
I watched tonight as another Cinderella-style NC State men’s bb team earned its automatic entry into the NCAA “Big Dance” by playing against the odds to win the 2023/24 season ACC Tournament. It’s been a long 37 years since this magic happened for the Wolfpack. Tonight the spirit of Jimmy Valvano was smiling down on this team from up there👆🏼
I’ll be watching and pulling for the Wolfpack again in the NCAA National Tournament. Tonight the Wolfpack of NC State just got me all excited and fired up for this year’s Big Dance! I’d love to see Cinderella win it all again just like they did back in ‘83 when Jimmy V held the reins.
I was! What a blast from the past. And what a wild finish to this game! 1:37:01
LOL Dean Smith 1:37:43 what a complete dick hole lmao. He was even worse than Roy. After watching this, I'm fully convinced Dean was threatened by how good V was. This was supposed to be the next big rivalry. What happened? HMMMMM. Makes you wonder.
@@iDONTdoFacebookOh for sure. You kiddin me? The whole 2024 tourney was literally orchestrated by God. I heard a joke yesterday that said Jim turned to God and was like Cmon, they've suffered enough" xD
There are just no words. What happened in these last 5 days was the greatest run in the history of the conference, and right up there with Uconn's 5 in 5 in 2011. Now go win the whole thing!!!
And F YOU ROY!! LOLLLL
This broadcast aired in the ACC territories while for the rest of the country NBC did the broadcast of the ACC title game.
Watching this game before NC State and UNC meet up tonight at the same location. Similar situation with State having lost maybe 7-9 of the last regular season games. Rest in Peace Charles Shackleford! I am praying for the same outcome.
And Coach Valvano! We have been thinking of you so very much this week.
How have we not won one of these in the past quarter century.
That ends today
@olddoggo6769 the triangle and 2 might be a good idea against this unc team also
I was most impressed with Jim Valvano in this game. I know folks talk about Dean’s 1984 team but this team was to me their best team from position to position, starter to bench. Sum of the parts. But Dean refusing to prepare for zone teams cost him.
R.I.P. Joe Wolf
This was our last ACC Tournament win? This was before my time by a good while. I’ve never witnessed elite Wolfpack hoops 😂
RIP Shack
Ticranium do u know him irl?
Travel call with 2 seconds to go , whistle blown and they just let the clock run out?
It wasn't 2 seconds.
Is the referee in the background in the pregame interview
Of all of UNC’s teams that didn’t make the Final Four, was this 1987 squad one of the best?
1984
Kenny with the first euro step at one hour five seconds 😂
Valvono always gave Dean Smith problems.
I have been looking for the NBC broadcast of this game.
@Cavalcade of Fred Couples Not true. NBC did the game in non ACC territory like Minnesota. I know this because I watched the game on NBC with Dick Enberg and Al McGuire. If you lived in ACC country the NBC broadcast was blacked out due to the TV contact Raycom had.
@@paulsonj72 I can validate your claim John because NBC is the broadcast I vividly remember watching at the time as a 15-yr old more than halfway thru my freshman yr in HS! In fact it was just weeks before my family relocated to Tobacco Rd (Concord), where I finished HS (NW Cabarrus)
@@paulsonj72 And it was an absolute fantastic basketball game by both squads! NC State's run one of the more remarkable in conference history because they were more inconsistent that season than the stock market before their come alive six game win streak which included this tournament! That weekend by far their best of the '86-'87 campaign! Mike Giomi played out his orbit for State in this game just as he had against Carolina in the '84 Sweet 16 for Indiana! I think he relished playing against the Heels JS
Brad Lewis I also watched the game on an NBC station in Minnesota which is definitely not ACC territory
@@paulsonj72 espn would show this version on Sunday night
