He sure does! 😅 What's interesting is he only hangs on to a very small amount of gear, things have to be pretty special for him to keep. I often take my cues as to what gear to buy from what he keeps. The Technics sp10mk2 is one example. Though I did buy a TTWEIGHTS brass weight before he bought his. 😂
g'Day mates re watching the video again and having just received a Jelco SA750LB I was interested in any of the mods for the arm that I may still be able to procure ...not many so far;( anyway at around 9:38 in the vid Dad mentions that the arm doesn't come with any kind of a ....what sounds to me is ... "tailweight " ...? and he made one from scratch using pure silver .5 mm , ??? I'm kind of baffled as to what it could be ...possible to elaborate a bit .. ? also the brass knob that sits on the arm main pivot , I reckon I could not find one but I have a machinist friend who might be able to fabricate one if I had the dimensions any chance of that ?? Big thanks from Canada !
Hey mate. I believe my dad was referring to the "Tail Lead." Or the cable from the base of the turntable tonearm to the phono stage. In regards to the custom components, only the graphite headshell is currently available from Audiosilente. I'll get back to you with the dimensions of the tonearm dampening weight.
nice setup , which Jelco L is it and where did you get the added mods ? did you build the plinth ? I have the same TT and in process of a plinth arm build . thanks
Hi, thanks for your question. My dad purchased the plinth from Singapore about 10 years ago. The copper mat and brass turntable weight, as well as the tonearm dampener are from TTWEIGHTS, a company that no longer makes turntable parts. The counterweight was purchased from the UK, my dad can't recall the exact company. The only thing that's still available is the graphite headshell, from Audiosilente. It costs around 400 Australian dollars. Hope this is helpful and all the best with your Technics.👍
Crikey your Dad's got some gear! 🙂

Oh, and the Jelco is a model SA-750LB. Also only available on the used marker since Jelco folded.
