How do would you stop 10 Personnel without RB, adding Back up Oline as RB & still be A Pass heavy team. The illusion is to force A defense to Play Small, so you can then bludgeon A Defense with The +1 QB run game out of Spread formations
If the running back is out in the route most defenses at this level will have someone responsible for peeling with the back, however some teams will leave him. The argument some will make for leaving the back is 1. If he doesn’t stay in to block we have a free man in the QBs face and he has to make a quick and accurate throw right now. 2. The back must run some kind of route short and be an outlet. This means the ball is not going down field and we can rally and tackle. There is no defensive call without weaknesses. This isn’t a silver bullet for anything. But at the same time a lot of pressures are going to leave someone open somewhere and if you cannot find the open receiver before the pressure hits home, it’s a successful pressure that time. You can still rotate coverages on the backend.
