    I'm 25, been dealing with tremendous foot pain for 8 years. No amount of foot massage would give me any sort of extended relief, and now I am on the road to full recovery thanks to this video.

      @@ianariemr3572 Hello! Unfortunately I found that my foot pain is due to an illness called Ehlers Dalnos Syndrome and can only be treated, not cured. This massage technique does give be a fair amount of relief though.

    As a teacher, standing all day I've had plantar fasciitis for a couple of years and tried everything from medication to injection, from ESWT to physiotherapy. Nothing worked at all. On a daily treatment search routine on the Internet while suffering from sharp pain on my sole, I came across this video. I tried it as I try everything I watch, hear or see and to my great surprise I felt relieved instantly. I'm now applying ice and for the first time in years I felt hopeful. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You realy made my day :)

    Omg!!!!! I cannot THANK U enough!!! 😭 I'm serious...ive been suffering tremendously 🤧 for almost an entire year!! I massaged my calf the way you suggested and I immediately...and I mean immediately felt the flow of blood start to increase and relief was next. Im Sorry but I am in shock! This has literally just changed the quality of my life!! A HUGE THANKS TO U!!! GOD BLESS YOU!!! 💌😇🌠👏👏👏

      Thank you--I am glad you got some relief.. Continue to do this for 10 days even when you feel perfectly fine. It's easy to relapse with plantar pain. If you run a lot it's most important to massage your calf a little --usually plantar starts because of tight calves.

    This routine helped me more than anything else I could find online. I felt instant relief after the first time doing this massage and within 3 days my pain was gone. I did this every morning before taking my first step out of bed, once after getting home from work, and one more time before going to bed. I also iced once a day and wore compression socks. The pain is gone now but I'm still keeping up with the routine to keep everything nice and loose until it's completely healed. Thank you Dr, you're a life saver!!!

      Hi Judy I don't always get to read these. Yes-since plantar starts with tight calves the bottom of the foot needs to work harder when the calf is tight-I always make sure to do a lot of calf work to expedite healing. I imagine you know this--and it DOES hurt but I only go as deep as they can take it--I then release trigger points with dry needling. Works great! Hope your practice is going well!

      Make sure you rest your feet
      Try Wearing supportive footwear
      Use ice on your heel
      Take ibuprofen or another nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug to lessen pain and inflammation
      try night splints
      Do stretching and strengthening exercises.

      Thank you Joddi Harriz. I really like your presentation re: massage tips. I have rolled the bottom of my foot on an ice filled, fro we water bottle, soaked my foot in Epsom Saltz warm water, and taped my foot with hospital grade sports tape, not the drugstore brands. The supportive shoe brand which has given me the most relief for every day activities is the Hoka brand. The expert at the local running shoe store recommended the Hokas and I love them. I even wear them to church. You mentioned the 'stick' rolling for your calf. I bought the stick and the foot roller from the same company. The foot roller is small enough to carry with me and it helps to break up and loosen the fascia on the sole of my foot. I will add the massage techniques you mentioned to my daily routine. Thank you for your advice.

      There are a few things you can try
      Test out a natural remedies for plantar foot. Something as simple as ginger root, which can be found at your local grocery shop, is a great anti-inflammatory. Ginger root is in a group of plants known as Cox inhibitors. This means they prevent inflammation naturally.
      Another natural remedy for pain is Bromelain. Bromelain is an enzyme got from pineapples. If you drink the raw juice or eat raw pineapple, you can gt advantage from the properties of Bromelain. This is natural healing at its very best.

    You can easily get cross-friction with a roller. Grab a hand towel and a 15lb weight. Place your leg on the roller and the towel on your shin to protect your bone and hold the weight in place on top of it. Then just roll your leg medially/laterally and also side to side.

    • @brucemandelbaum6115
      @brucemandelbaum6115  4 года назад +1

      Hi - I appreciate what you said. The fact is - although the roller does work to go across, it doesn't specifically get into the muscle in the same way. It's much more effective to use your thumbs, point by point, across the muscle horizontally.

  • @belgas3139
    @belgas3139 4 года назад

    For one thing, while many people do calf stretches and exercises they don’t think much about developing the front of the shin, tibialis anterior. Which is where walking comes in. The tibialis anterior is a key muscle in walking and a person that walks well probably need not think about working this muscle because proper gait patterns keep tibialis anterior toned and supple.
    But this blog exists to tell you that you don’t walk correctly. People that stand and walk well create a natural balance between the calf and the front of the shin that allows the achilles tendon to live a fairly uncomplicated life. Instead one of two misalignments is likely to be happening:
    A hyperextended knee which angles the achilles tendon chronically backwards.
    Tights hips which pull the knee and shins sideways when walking force the achilles sideways as well.
    Either of these two factors-hyperextension and tight hips-can lead to a chronically stressed and short achilles tendon that might well break down in an acute situation when you need a burst of speed. Walking, standing and running require the feet to land under the knees, which allows the achilles tendon to work smoothly.
