- In this Jamovi tutorial, I go through a full example from the data library on a One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Features include both Fisher's main and Welch's correction test, testing a direct hypothesis, post-hoc tests, and getting additional stats like effect size and descriptives. I will say that I miss the source table!

NOTE: This tutorial uses the current build of Jamovi, 1.6.3 on MacOS. Version 1.6 contains all the new features to the program as of this recording date. Version 1.2.27 is listed as their most stable build.

Hello Alexander. You noted that Jamovi does not give SST SSE etc... I use MegaStat with my doctoral students and they love it. MegaStat is great because it performs t, z, ANOVA, Chi-Square, Regression and Multiple Regression. I love using Jamovi for Meta Analysis.
Is MegaStat open-source/free to end-users? I'll have to check it out!
The one-way module in jamovi is not as good as the ANOVA module, where you can do a one-way or factorial ANOVAs.
So, where does Len came from? What is it? And why we need to make it independent variable?
The variable Len and its description can be found in the free Jamovi companion text: Learning Statistics with Jamovi. Search google for that cuz I forgot to link it! But they have a full description of these variables in context. Check it out, it will be clearer to follow along
My study is "Preferability and Irritability of women wearing heels" does that use one-way anova?
Couldn’t tell you without knowing your design. That’s like asking what the book is about by just saying it’s Dickens’s “Great Expectations”
@@AlexanderSwan descriptive
@@jokersjoke1204 then no
This helped me, thank you, now how do I do the narrative interpreatation based on the results?
Are you asking how to write the results section?
@@AlexanderSwan yes
@@princessdibayking4379 I have a video on my channel that explains how to write results sections in APA. Or do a search for APA results sections.
@@AlexanderSwan thank you very much :)
could you have a look at my excel sheet and tell me if i can perform anova, chi square, regression tests. the thing is, its my 1st time using jamovi and my survey is quantitative, but all the data is in text and i cant find anything on how to enter nd set my data
also, whats with my data set suddenly being unavailable, something with the 45 min session thing. i have my file saved tho
I can help if you catch me on Discord or email
How do we get the effect size (eg. eta squared)?
I don't believe it is an option in the one-way module. You could do other ANOVA module and choose the option there
hi can we change the alpha level to 0.05 instead of 0.01? in jamovi
There’s no way to change alpha on assumption tests. It’s based on convention hard-coded. As far as making the change yourself when looking at output, that’s completely up to you
len = length of tooth growth in guinea pigs :)
Thank you! I had no idea what it had to do with. LOL
