I’m 57, and even in 1972 where we did a lot of unsupervised things as kids, three miles was a long way to walk at night alone. Very sad story.

Brad's mom Elissa passed away in Las Vegas in 2018. She was about 85. I think she was remarried so that explains why she's not in the mausoleum. Brad's childhood home was sold and demolished in 2006 to expand a parking lot. Also the police dept paid $3500 in 2019 to Parabon for familial DNA testing. They have the killer's DNA and he could be found if a relative used a genealogical site.

The saddest part of story is that the friend and their family had felt way too much guilt for what happened to Brad.
The Templemans had different ways of coping with the situation.
“My mom just had tremendous guilt, because she feels personally responsible, because she…wasn’t there to drive him home…I always told her, ‘Mom, it wasn’t your fault, you didn’t know. He left on his own, and you didn’t know he was going,’” Don said. “My dad never ever talked about it. My dad took me to the police station when they showed me the evidence…he was there in the room, and he didn’t say a word the whole time I was being interviewed. Then we drove home, and he didn’t say a word all the way home. And he and I never talked about it… [my mom] would ask me every so often if I had ever heard anything, and I would tell her no. And she’d just say I just wish we could turn the clock back…But I don’t remember my dad and I ever talking about it at all.”
He said his dad was typically very open about everything, but this was too difficult.

My parents raised 11 children. Six boys and five girls. None of us were allowed to walk the streets. When we learned how to drive a car, two of us had to go to the store together. I'm not saying something could not have happened to us still, but children are given too much freedom nowadays!!!!!! I see children in the streets all of the time, day and night. Somethings are beyond a parent's control, but young children in the streets, especially at very young ages is the parent's fault. I hate it when this happens to children because I have much love for sweet innocent children. So sad 😞 😥

He was kidnapped by someone he knew who worked at the rock shop or some other store close by. And as a result He probably trusted the individual, because he had seen them on multiple occasions . The way it lines up (to me) is that he was walking home and encountered somebody he knew so he trusted that individual to maybe give him a ride and unfortunately they didn’t do that…they took him to a secondary location where they assaulted him and tortured him and then dumped him back there because it was a familiar location
Profiling: it’s someone familiar who knew the school schedule.
The police here really ought to start using genealogical DNA sampling. Parabon nano labs has partnered with GED match to do genealogical DNA testing.
if there was anything pulled from his clothing the police department should submit it for profile submission… I know that it is been a long enough period of time it can be considered … This is how the Golden State killer was solved they can easily solve the murder of a very innocent child.

Hey Lamont. I’m a new listener. Been enjoying your videos. I was nine years old when this happened. The world was so different then. There was an innocence about things/life that there just isn’t now. We have internet and everything is in your face now more than times back then. We can find out anything we want at the click of a few buttons. So pretty much instant. Back then, there wasn’t that luxury or convenience. Bless this boys heart, I’m sure he was terrified in his last hours and minutes. Thank you for delivering his story and all the others with such respect.

I can't imagine how terrified Brad must have been. Back then, I don't think kids were nearly as informed as they would be now. He may have not really fully understood the evil pervert's intentions. As well it must have been so scary for all the residents of that town, knowing that there was a random killer on the loose, preying on children.

The house where Brad lived was there up until 2006. After that his parents must have sold it and moved.

Those parents of the friend or his parents should of taken him home. Such a shame. Never let a child walk around in those days are these days alone with the looney tunes running around. 😞🙏🏻

Dad was working and went out for few drinks so when he got home he probably passed out. Guess the siblings didn't raise Alarm?. The friends parents....the dad was bedridden with bad flu and mom went to grocery store and intended to drive him home.....but Brad decided not to wait for her to get back and left on his own. My question is...where was Brads mom? No one seems to know her whereabouts
