New emblem looks like you’re a lollipop salesman. Best vids ever.
Those power numbers are insane. He sustained 1000-1400 for so long in that last lap, and then repeatedly did further sprints. Wow
good lord, after a couple time over 1000 Watt Peaks for couple sec he hold 600 Watts for the last straight like forever... WTF????
Dr. Wattson's clinic
Hi Jeff. Just wanna say a huge thank you! As a MTB'er, I did my first road race (on the MTB) over the weekend. Maybe you've heard of it, it's called the Cape Town Cycle Tour (previously, Cape Argus), arguably the biggest road race in the world. 109km of beautiful scenery.. Anyhow, I've been watching your videos and I manage to complete it in a time of 3h36min which I wouldn't have without your advice it would probably have been a 4h+ ride. Started at the very back and only 1 guy came past me. Managed to settle in with a group of roadies and we rotated beautifully until the end where there are 2 big climbs and I dropped all off them with my MTB gears. I've been looking at entry level roadbikes now and super keen to give our local crits a go. Unfortunately we don't have categories so the winners are usually the pro's on their practice rides, but maybe I can get a sneaky win and send you the footage. Keep up with the great videos!
lol congrats but i think the biggest road race in the world is the tour de france haha
@@loc9588 lol, you're right sorry. Should have said participants. Up to 35000 people each year
@@stefanvermeulen6161 35,000 thats craaaaaaazy
@@stefanvermeulen6161 no you are correct. it is the largest timed cycle race. well done on that time with a mtb. with that weather, mtb was a good option as well lol
Honored to be in the thumbnail! Kudos to Ryan, hella strong rider!
Great video, excellent commentary, hope recovery is going well Jeff.
That was awesome. Definitely a great addition to your team. Hope to see you in the group soon. Thanks for the great content.
1:48 is it too soon to make a joke about this?
Nope. He leans real hard into his bike handling skills.
Holy crap that last lap! That was some race! Nice one Ryan, looking forward to more! Get well soon Jeff!
Love seeing the year after year coverage of this race. Hope you're getting better Jeff! Great finish. Big boi watts on that attack. Daaaaamn
4:35 oh lord this is a technical course, I would be knocking those cones over in this corner 😀.
Holy crap..... Ryan, that is so impressive.
3:30 oh yeah it's great getting a draft behind one of these Gandalf size riders, especially for a small fry like me, it's like riding behind a vacuum cleaner 🙂.
There comes a point where Drew is no longer working with you and winds up that big engine in the last 1-1.5 laps. On a less technical course with wind, Drew can ride some seriously strong riders off his wheel.
I remember seeing Ryan tt off the front for the entire cat 4 Livermore crit. Good shit
Waow - impressive last lap attack. Great commentary great production even though missing te rear view.
may I know what his max HR and FTP is? With his HR sometimes being up in the 180's I was wondering wether he still had something left or not
What an exciting race and great strategy. So awesome to see those attacks get pulled back in the tech section. Makes it look too easy.
I tried the same thing in a similarly shaped course, escape in the technical part at start of last lap and try to hold it through the hairpin out and back -- but instead of this outcome, I started running out of gas and lost by a bike throw :/ A hairpin into the finishing straight definitely keeps the adrenaline up though, seeing everyone coming!
Thanks! Great footage, interview and graphics. Eagle Cycling Club appreciates it!
that last lap was beautiful
That Ryan guy seems fun.
Watt Bombs for Days. Amazing last lap!
Strong like bull! Amazing power numbers. Looks like team Mike's Bikes is going to be tough to beat! Thanks for another great video.
I'm into Enduro mountain biking and I totally misunderstood road biking and other genres of biking but it is actually more technical and challenging than I thought. It's really interesting and entertaining.
you should watch the tour or the giro homie! the speed some of the GC guys go down the mountain is mind blowing.
Amazing race! This is going to be a crushing year!
Always a fan. From Philippines
Motorbikes, DH, and elite XC? This course is pretty much made for homeboy haha
Man. That looked a fun win.
It's safe to say Team's Mike Bike's is now on the level of Legend SoCal
Slam more go pro's on the bike and do it more often Guys! Congrats for the win! 💪
But does Ryan have a BMX background?
Dang I’m early! Already know it’s gonna be a great video. Hopefully recovery treats you well!
sick bike handling!
NC Cycling looks like ‘North Carolina Cycling’
I really love Mikes Bikes jerseys. I need one!
those are some WTFBBQ numbers!!1!
Super smart move
Technical yes...but what about the Cat's Hill Crit? Hard to top that one.
Spoiler alert: Ryan won that too. Then he won Santa Cruz the next day.
Great video!
Mountain biker power...1000+watts off every corner.
Was that Microsoft Sam at 1:22?
Miles transferred? I really need to catch up...
Ryan is too strong!!
Great to see strong women going on it with the men. Time to step it up boys!
"I don't have that crazy FTP that some riders have" says the guy who may be in the 350s or something
It suddenly feels smaller when you ride against guys that have 400 watt ftps.
Nice lines
total destruction
ryan is a beast
Man, he's really fit.
which game is that?
Aye today's my birthday
Dude.
Lol, "Andrew Jackson and myself"... so you and a dead Pres...
im fast af
This course would be one of the least technical in Belgium
