As a Tamil guy I can surely tell that Kollywood is going to face a huge downfall. They would never encourage youth talent and always bank on the same old stars. I recently saw Allu Arjun who is a super star attending behidnwoods awards function and also touching his teachers feet. You can never expect the so called Kollywood super stars to attend these kind of functions. Ajith doesn't even attend his own movie promotion and I am not sure if he that big star in the first place! Vijay has his own limitation and does not promote his movies in other languages. Telegu and Kannada stars are more humble and easy to work with which is the reason they are producing block busters. Rajamouli could have easily gone to direct Bollywood movie and earn more but he decided to make all the telegu heroes as pan India super stars. From a directorial angle, Shankar is a total disappointment for Kollywood. Just look at the star cast for Indian 2. No other pan indian super star other than kamal. You can't give blockbusters in the current era with just one known face and age old storyline.
Tollywood actors are responsible, they always think about growth of their cinema, that's why Mahesh Babu allu arjun prabhas chooses different script and takes risk , meanwhile Tamil actors are running behind money only, they just need 200 cr in their pockets forget about all scripts and direction
I am from Andhra. After watching Indian movie in 1995, I used to think when this kind of movies will be Tollywood. But everything changed after magadheera. We accept all good films irrespective of language barriers.
Until 1980s - Telugu film industry was ahead of Tamil During 1990s to 2014 Tamil crossed Telugu. After Baahubali, Telugu film industry created a huge margin that is so difficult to touch for any film industry in India. Magadheera was one such film that became favourite of even Tamil and Malayalis

I remember some of Hindi heroines refused to work in Telugu industry but in Tamil. Tamil got an advantage of having diaspora outside India. Then Tamil industry used to show pride even though all industries of south started in Chennai and later Tamil industry inherited that. That way few advantages to Tamil industry. Not to say that Tamil industry is not worthy. But the prejudice used to manifest in multiple ways. I remember when Bahubali released, some people used to say, why this movie not made in Tamil. Same pride/prejudice shown by Bollywood, so called. As Chiranjeevi mentioned in one of the events that in movie history of India no Telugu actors mentioned. Only Hindi actors and few Tamil actors. Lot of things can be quoted, but we should treat every industry with respect.

But content wise our movies excellent, we don't use masala songs and scene as much as possible but other industries without masala, actors and ordinance not accept movies. So they know people will accept good content movies. As a Tamil guy I can surely tell that Kollywood is going to face a huge downfall. They would never encourage youth talent and always bank on the same old stars. I recently saw Allu Arjun who is a super star attending behidnwoods awards function and also touching his teachers feet. You can never expect the so called Kollywood super stars to attend these kind of functions. Ajith doesn't even attend his own movie promotion and I am not sure if he that big star in the first place! Vijay has his own limitation and does not promote his movies in other languages. Telegu and Kannada stars are more humble and easy to work with which is the reason they are producing block busters. Rajamouli could have easily gone to direct Bollywood movie and earn more but he decided to make all the telegu heroes as pan India super stars. From a directorial angle, Shankar is a total disappointment for Kollywood. Just look at the star cast for Indian 2. No other pan indian super star other than kamal. You can't give blockbusters in the current era with just one known face and age old storyline.

I remember some of Hindi heroines refused to work in Telugu industry but in Tamil. Tamil got an advantage of having diaspora outside India. Then Tamil industry used to show pride even though all industries of south started in Chennai and later Tamil industry inherited that. That way few advantages to Tamil industry. Not to say that Tamil industry is not worthy. But the prejudice used to manifest in multiple ways. I remember when Bahubali released, some people used to say, why this movie not made in Tamil. Same pride/prejudice shown by Bollywood, so called. As Chiranjeevi mentioned in one of the events that in movie history of India no Telugu actors mentioned. Only Hindi actors and few Tamil actors. Lot of things can be quoted, but we should treat every industry with respect.

As a tamil guy I accept we don't cross 800 crore!!! But content wise our movies excellent, we don't use masala songs and scene as much as possible but other industries without masala, actors and ordinance not accept movies. Even 60 age actor want duet song with young heroines😂. As you said yes tamil industry Heroes not promoting their flim because they trust their work and script. So they know people will accept good content movies. For example: Thalapathy Vijay's "LEO" total box office collection 622 coror without promotion by vijay because he trust script and director and not promotion Even Superstar Rajinikanth's JAILER total box office collection 723 crore without other state promotion because superstar know his level of acting. As a ordinance we know on a final day we don't get single paise in our pocket so we don't worry about box office collection😂😂😂.
