After 25 miles, this shoe is becoming my daily trainer. It has a nice pop and snap. It is a fun shoe and I like running in this more than the superblast.
I got the 10 for $35 at Ross a few months ago. I "fixed it" by cutting out the useless, token carbon plate that was right under the heel. Totally different shoe without that hard thing between you and the lightstrike pro. The energy rods are fine, no need for a "plate", especially where they located it. Easy to remove, just take out the insole and use a razor to slice the fabric and pull it out. It's right on top, not embedded in the midsole.
Being a huge fan of the PXS, AP3, and TS8, I got the Boston 11 on 50% sale over the winter but even that doesn't redeem its brick-like character, feel, and ride. I agree it looks alright and I guess it'll be my occasional casual walking shoes now. I've been using the 11 for short treadmill warmup runs before my gym workouts and it's okay for that, but I'd still rather be running in something else. It seems the Boston 12 is the workhorse daily trainer that many of us have been waiting for from Adidas. Just got the white one ordered and am really looking forward to it as I liked the overall look and fit of the 11. It was just the ride that I could not get myself to like. The Lightstrike Pro midsole foam is my favorite out of all the different foams I've tried from various brands and it's good to know that Lightstrike 2.0 is softer than 1.0 as well. Glad to know that Adidas is listening and reading what runners have to say!
I just had my first run in the Boston 12 and wow, I like it! I have all the other shoes, speed 3, rebel 3, novablast 3, etc, etc... and this one is way up there. It's a little firmer but not in a bad way. It reminds me of the old new balance TC. 👍
@@VinylTherapy I think I would still pick the Speed 3 simply because it feels better at slower paces, but it's close with the Boston 12. Novablast 3 is best for easy runs, very squishy. Rebel 3 is a good daily shoe, pretty versatile, but it bottoms out after a while.
This is without a doubt the most entertaining channels of this category. Knowledgeable, fun, great dynamic, great people. If you guys make an agreement with Netflix (surely can be done), both you and Netflix would benefit. Keep it up! 👌💪💥👟
Well, the B10 had a great big and very hard plate underneath the insole… nothing to break in there. Solution I found was to remove it, then it became reasonable…
Great review. I recently bought a pair of the Boston 12 and really like them as a daily trainer that will more or less do anything I want. As an 'older' English guy who loves running I just want to say how much I enjoy your reviews and the channel. Thanks to you all.
I could not agree more about the Boston 10/11. I have been fortunate to work in in run speciality for 10 years. I struggle to think of a shoe I disliked more than the Boston 10. It felt like someone tried to create a high stack shoe with technology and compounds from 2000.
I got the 10s. I like them for my up tempo and interval days. It’s firm but responsive and very durable. I’ll likely give these a go at some point. Thanks for the review .
I haven’t tried the Boston 12, but I just finished a run in my Boston 9. The 9 doesn’t have as much cushion as these super shoes, but DAMN, the 9s feel great! I’ll run these shoes into the ground until I can’t run in them anymore.
1400 miles in my Boston 10's in 11 months, I had to snip the bootie a little for my wide feet to be a little more 'comfortable'. I have a feeling I'll enjoy the 12's too
Hoping the Boston is back! I stocked up on Pro 3's to do my speed/tempo days in since the 10 and 11's were such bricks. Once I burn through my stockpile I'll be getting the 12's.
I also use adios pro 3 for speed workouts and races . Have been able to find on sale consistently and have been impressed by at least 300 miles I get out of it. I am 195 lbs 6’1 and muscular for a runner. In short I am hard on shoes probably can get more out of shoe if you are smaller less hard on shoes.
Could it be a more stable raceshoe alternative for heavier slower runner who just can't get anything out of carbon plated shoes? Does it compete with Endorphine Speed 3? Does it compete with Asics Superblast? And yes please do a super trainer showdown! 😊
Got 1 run in mine so far and I like them! Had the 10's and hated them. These run longer than the previous Bostons, Adios Pro, and Prime X. Half size down all the way!

The Super-Trainer category is kind of infurating. Shoe brands are holding back one little thing (like Adidas not using Lightstrike Pro throughout this midsole) so that they can still charge an extra $100 for their top shoes. It's like a burger chain charging $4 for a hamburger and $10 for a cheesburger. Almost everyone wants the cheeseburger, but that markup for that one differentiating feature is too ridiculous.
To expand on the burger analogy it's like we'll give you the double burger and lettuce tomato but no cheese. Or. We'll give you a burger with cheese but not a double and no lettuce tomatoes. If you want them all then that'll be $280 😂
I had the same fit issues, but after some trial and error lacing variations-what did the trick, was to skip the last normal lacehole, and use to the last one instead (the one usually used to make a for the runners knot but I did not do that just went there to use as the last lacing hole. Fixed. No heel slip.
I've ran in the Adizero SL and the Boston 12. I have to say I enjoy the SL more. I think the SL's lighter weight, more comfortable upper, and better fit wins me over. Though... the Boston 12 may feel better to me if I sized down.
Anyone else find the heel rubs and causes blisters and have any solutions? I have never had an issue with other Adizero shoes but the hard cardboard or plastic that is between the heel fabric feels like it cuts into my foot. Hoping this gets better as they break in a bit. Otherwise they feel awesome, good combination of bounce and some stability
im running the san francisco marathon in these shoes in three weeks and breaking them in now. The adios pro 3 upper is too abusive for me and I am not going for a PR this round just a fun run especially not on the san fran course. Should be grand
Sounds like perfect training partner to adios pro 3 will try for sure. Sounds like has many of the adios pro 3 upper flaws ?
