    Would you try microcement floors?

    • @krickette5569
      @krickette5569 2 месяца назад +1

      I would have before you did this video. lol Not so much now. I have a bare cement floor in the den where I removed carpeting. I'm considering just doing a stain on it but first need to find out if I can stain old concrete.

      @@krickette5569 if the concrete is in pretty good shape I say just stain it! We didn’t really have a choice because of all the mastic + paint

      @@krickette5569, if the concrete does not have a sealer on it, you can stain it regardless of the age of the concrete as it naturally is very porous. You need to spray it on (a pump up sprayer will work). Do not use a roller, because the roller marks will show. Start in an inconspicuous section until you get the hang of it. Good luck.

      @@JAMIEANDSARAH It's got some carpet glue on it but I have been scraping that off, other than that it's in great shape. .

    Absolutely beautiful!! I've been using the same product in various areas for my home renovation. It is a learning experience. I'm in the middle of prepping cement board in a bathroom at the moment. I'm curious how your floor is doing with the weight of heavy structures, is it holding up well, have you noticed any cracks at all? I'm just concerned with placing a free standing tub over it, questioning if I should use a fiber mesh reinforcement? Fantastic job you did, thank you for putting this video out there! There isn't much information on the "how to" process of micro cement flooring, greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!

      @@shelleycurry4644 thanks so much! We don’t have to worry about heavy objects because it is a slab house. Concrete subfloor not wood. I would add mesh for a tub in a bathroom if you have wood joists/supports

    You could have paid professionals to lay terrazzo for the same price and half the effort. Pro tip, next time you do flooring remove the baseboards. When you put them back, the imperfections around the edges will be hidden. This is why baseboards exist.
