    Joanna I really love the input you put on this flute. I personally play this flute and your way of playing this flute really helped my articulation me being a music student. What I am trying to say is Thank You!!

    Hi Joanna, wonderful review as always!! Even though I'm very happy with my current flute, I still watch your reviews just to keep up with what's out there. I just bought a Dana Sheridan headjoint for my Yamaha flute. You asked about suggestions for future reviews: I'd love to see some reviews of headjoints--maybe Mancke, David Chu, Sheridan, Young, etc. I had some difficulty finding much info out there when I was researching these, so I'd love to see you check them out in a review or two and give us your opinion. Thanks so much--you are absolutely awesome!

    I just want to say, that case update is VERY NEW. I bought my burkart resona 300 around this time last year and mine has the standard french style case. I love my resona 300. Its a great instrument and a great sound! I would recommend it.

    Because of one of your other videos on how to "try" a flute to find what meets your needs, I went to FCNY... ended up buying a 300! THANK YOU!!!!

    Burkart yey. I do own a Burkart Professional. Very strong flutes :-)

      Although I don't agree with your advice on tonguing. I learned to use the tongue very sluggishly and further back instead with the Burkarts.

    Hi Joana! Love your vids! I wondered if you could play an excerpt of a piece when you try new flutes, just so that we can have a general feel of how the flute sounds. ?

    You should review one of the FCNY modern wooden Flutes. That would be really cool.

    For some reason the name Resona makes me think of a song I have been binging lately. It's called Gold von den Sternen (gold from the stars) from the musical Mozart. It's super melodious which I love.
    Other than that random thought, these flutes were great. And I'm late as usual by now xD but my life schedule changed, so it's only natural.

    Hello Joanna, just wanted to say how I love your videos! If I was to make a comment, it would be on technique. Try keeping all of your fingers even closer to the keys when doing those thirds. Are you using one and one for bflat or thumb bflat?

  • @skylarwashington8699
    @skylarwashington8699 6 лет назад +1

    I recently (at band camp this summer) took my holes out out of my flute to make it an opened hole flute. I had a bit of trouble with keeping my fingers on the holes and completely cover them and I had to force myself to get comfortable with it, but I am still semi uncomfortable with it but I keep trying to push through. Also my flute sounds weird now. Is my flutes tone supposed to change when I go from closed holed to opened holed?

    For my taste, I prefer the Resona 300. I tried an actual Burkart ( I don’t remember the model) but I didn’t like it for me.😃❤️🎼🎶

    Hey Joanna, I just recently bought a thumbguide and finger saddle for my flute because I too have smaller hands and have just switched to open keys, so I needed to be able to cover everything correctly without killing my wrist. Is it safer for me to remove the thumbguide and finger saddle before I put back my flute after practicing/performing? Or am I able to leave them on? Your vids helped me choose my new flute (Di Zhao 500) and taught me so much. Thank you! Stay awesome! :D

    • @ninoding
      @ninoding 6 лет назад +1

      TheEvilestMacaroni you don't need to start with all the holes open. Removing the plugs one by one every week or two weeks depends how ofter to practice. Push the plugs down so you can still feel the holes while playing. Try not to leave the plugs too "Up"so you cannot feel the holes. Have fun!

    Hey I was just wondering why the vibrato sounds kind of shaky? I’m just used to hearing a more “slower natural” vibrato. In what cases would you need the vibrato you’re doing? Legitimately just curious hehe

    Hello! Do you think the heavy wall would make a difference in the sound? I'm considering in buying one of these models, and recently attended a convention where I tried out the R300. My only problem is that the R150 better suits my budget. Would you suggest getting all of the specs of the R300 to the R150?

    • @MichaelNguyen94
      @MichaelNguyen94 5 лет назад

      Barbara Jean Tapia the silver content wont affect the sound much, but the wall thickness does generally yield a darker sound and allows you to “push” more without cracking. Try out the 150 and see if you like it as much as the 300, ideally in a side by side test
      Also strongly consider entry level Japanese handmade models
