    I want to see a evaluation of how special of a prospect bron was because with the time that has passed we kinda lost the feel for how advanced he was.

    The craziest thing to me is that Luka didn’t go number 1 in his draft class. How you can win the MVP in the Euroleague as a teenager and not easily be the consensus number 1 pick is beyond me.
    It makes me think a lot of people stateside including scouts really don’t know much about basketball outside of the USA.
    The Euroleague is full of former NBA players, NBA draft picks on Euroleague teams, players who can make the NBA and have been offered NBA contracts but they prefer their roles in Europe and being close to home (e.g Rudy Fernandez, Mike James, Sergio Llull) and the top D1 players who just missed out on the NBA. The Euroleague is so many levels better than college in the US or the G-League it’s crazy.
    We’ve even seen Euroleague teams beat NBA teams in exhibitions and we’ve seen those same Euroleague players dominate against NBA all stars like we’ve just seen in the game between Serbia & USA yesterday

      ayton looked like a pro big already, at the time of the draft. people thought he was deandre jordan at the time. bagley's college stats made him look like how we view lauri now. people didn't value all around ability as much aqs they do now. if you looked like something known as good, that's all it took. luka's game was/is purely offensive. that's probably what did it.

    Prospect Embiid is a perfect example of a player with great tools and NATURAL BASKETBALL FEEL whose skillset needed time to catch up.
    No bs I think Ulrich Chomche is very similar but to a much lesser degree

    Only really started consuming draft stuff deeply 3 years ago so it's interesting seeing top prospects in past years. Even back then I was livid Doncic is somehow not #1 with my limited knowledge.
    Also interesting to see Oladipo so I've watched his highlights and all of that. How tf he didn't go #1?

    I’m gonna be so honest, Alperen Sengun fit the mold of an elite prospect yet nobody except a couple draft nerds talk about him like that. I personally think he had a better resume than any non-Luka/Zion lvl guy but ppl overvalue physical tools instead of focusing more on the inherent tangibles none of his peers have.

  • @tm7517
    @tm7517 Месяц назад +1

    Personally I think Zion has a higher ceiling than Luka and is therefore a better prospect. But Wemby is so so long. So unique that yeah his potential is about as high as Shaq’s potential when he was in high school. Lebron potential.

    How are you going to compare wemby to luka. Who was an MVP at 17. To someone who chose to play in the french 2nd division. Make it make sense. Luka doncic is the greatest prospect ever is debatable with Kareem. Remember Luka won a chip before playing in the NBA. So don't compare him with Luka.

      Because it isn’t always about accolades. A 7’5 mobile big with guard skills is just insane as a prospect there’s no higher ceiling and his floor was still crazy with the defense

    • @oztenn
      @oztenn Месяц назад +2

      wemby’s physical tools simply have way higher upside, even if that upside isn’t fully reached, it’s still true when just looking at them as prospects

    • @Collindunks
      @Collindunks Месяц назад

      Luka was 19 when he won MVP, Wemby was MVP of the 1st division at the same age. And as a prospect, you can’t really compare a 6’7 PG to a literal alien
