The power to weight on these keeps them competitive especially with some further dieting 😬 Yea 172 cup with no ABS & AD08R tyres in the wet certainly keeps you on your toes lol
I have a 172 cup and run Brembo hc discs and ds3000 pads which work really well but make loads of dust so I tend to swap the pads for some good standard ones for the road. I have also brought a 172 for parts and that has brand new pbs pads in it and they seemed pretty good on the drive home 👍🏻
Always enjoyed the DS2500 as a fast road pad but didn’t cut it for me on track, as you have said DS3000 received good reviews but not tried them myself! Would love a set of RS-29’s as they really are perfect for road/track in the M3 but think for this years running PBS and HC discs should (fingers crossed) do the job
What make are your 15mm front hub spacers? It makes the wheels sit so nicely in the arches. Sorry for all the questions just going through your playlist :)
No worries, to be honest I can’t remember what brand they were now - have held up well to be fair but you need to remove the arch liners, modify the arch liner brackets and trim the inside of the wings - looks mega but is a permanent modification so not ideal for the purist
Hi, It was a few years ago now, it was a Vauxhall paint code that I did my e46 wheels in (not sure if I detailed it in this video below) BMW e46 M3 Alloy Wheel Refurbishment (The result of running out of talent...) ruclips.net/video/fuMlciqKM9g/видео.html
Such an old video to ask this question, but can you recall the ride height you set it to front and rear? I’m struggling to get to to look right but also not rub. I’m almost setting it to normal ride height even after grinding back the bumper mounts and modifying the arch liner. I have been measuring the amount of thread remaining on the dampers or ground to wheel arch if you find 5 minutes to measure yours 🙈
Hi Gaz, No worries at all for the question, is actually something I plan to make a video on as it appears a lot of followed on my quest for that sweet stance 👌 The rears running genuine Cup Turinis + Pure motorsport 10mm hub spacers does not rub at all with the Bilstein coilovers on the lowest setting using the platform (you can remove the platform but then it’s an instant 10+mm lower and looked broken.. that did rub on hard compressions. Fronts needs a lot of work to make the clearance work with 15mm spacers + cup Turinis + 205/45/16 AD08R’s which have a beefy side wall you will need to cut away most of the front bumper/ side brackets, completely remove the arch liners & cut back the metal work behind them + cut the inside of the wing out for rub free driving (it’s pretty permanent modification so not for the purest) As you can hopefully see in the videos the car gets driven pretty hard and is rub free.
Shall hopefully have it on the road for initial shake down in March, I’ve run 10mm previously with no real negatives noticed so fingers crossed it will all be fine 👌
Did you get your wheels done in a specific colour code or just asked for metallic silver ? Thinking about getting my 1.2s done in a similar colour to keep it look oem ish.
It’s a Vauxhall colour the powder coaters had available, think I’ve discussed the colour code in the e46 M3 wheel refurb video (really liked it on the Clio so has become my default wheel silver lol)
I purchased it over 3 years ago so wouldn’t be valid in today’s market, they do seem to have gone crazy lately! Mine would be an odd one to value in its current spec as some will want a purest original but have seen 2 sell last year in similar spec for £6,000 & £7,500
Agreed, had the first run with them Monday/ Tuesday (new video should be online these week) and they are no where near the Michelin Super Sports I use on the M3 but I have heard good things about them for track for cost
@@stoneautomotive for track thry could be a good choice. For fast road use I would recommend to always go with an asimetrical rather then simetrical tire thread
I’ve had both 172 and 182 cups the 182 was quick but the 172 was a missile but a tad dangerous in the wet 😂. 0-100 was unbelievable.

I am running brembo hc discs and pbs pads on my sprint and hill climb 172 and can’t fault them, great bite from cold definitely a good choice 👍🏻
Great to hear, think for the money this is looking like a well priced combo 👌

Hi mate, can you remember the exact spec or paint code for the silver you went for? Looking to get mine done exactly as yours

Same suspension I'm running, I really rate it. I was also looking at getting spacers will be interested in your thoughts on them.

You can have the on the ring but it has to be a full track day not TF. Aircraft harnesses get checked sometimes aswell on TF if they want to be picky.
This is what I’ve heard, just glad I didn’t drive all the way over to find this out 🙈
Gona be a weapon mate! Great content 👍
Thanks Karl 👍 super excited to get it back on the road now it’s finally coming together

Very nice, Sorry if youve mentioned it but how much was the cup? The markets prices are all over the place at the mo...

Looking good so far :D
Thanks - more updates coming soon 👌

What was the part number for the Skoda spiltter pal?
Hi, not sure, just search Clio Skoda splitter an ebay and a few sellers are listing them
Advans are not the best choice. Go with michelin
