From month 6 to 14 is the hardest part. You can not use hairties, because hair is still too short. But you also can not use wax, because hair is too long. The only solution is to wear a hat. After you're getting through the awkward stage you will be more happy than before. Keep strong and don't listen to other peoples opinion.

Today marks my 1 year and 6 month hair growth journey! These videos really helped when I was feeling insecure or tempted to cut it all off but today I can say it was all worth it!! Thank you so much! The journey to beautiful and long ass hair was worth all the awkward stages! Being able to put all your hair in a bun with easy is a right of passage and such an experience!! :)

Hey man! In August before I started college I decided to shave my head aswell and start the hair growth journey (I've almost hit the 4 month mark.) Throughout the months I've been pretty torn whether or not I want to go through with it because nothing was really motivating me. I came across your 1.25 year video about a week ago and realized how similar our hair is. I can relate to the thick and fullness as weird that sounds haha. The last time I had long hair was about 3 years ago, and I had the Justin Bieber look but much thicker for lack of a better term.
I'm worried that it will go into that same groove and lay on my face the longer it grows. I have a friend that is almost a year in and his hair is going back, but he told me that you have to train it to go that way. I never understood how he meant to do that, and I was curious to know what you went through. I don't prefer using product, but if it's what I have to do to train it backwards I will.
I've also had a steady job at a restaurant for over 2 years, and was wondering if you had any issues with bosses wanting a clean cut? I don't want it to hang over my face and disrupt talking or working during the awkward stage. The pictures you took looked like you were able to control it on most every picture, and if you had tips they were be greatly appreciated it.
Sorry for writing you a novel above lol, but your videos have brought me hope to continue my journey. I saw that you were replying to comments, so I figured I'd try to ask you some things since we have such similar hair. Thanks for the videos and the help bro!

OMG what a novel! Anyway, manage it is so annoying, especially if you do a job where you need to talk with lot of people. The boss can "bother to you" but if you maintain it properly ( Tie your hair... Wear a hairnet... ), you shouldn't have any problems! The only way is to talk with him and looking for a compromise. Tell me if you need something else!

Yes, I trimmed my back just once but my advice is to not trim it, it's not so necessary.
I wash my hair three times per week, I always use shampoo.
How did your hair go from straight to wavy
I don't know. My hair is like that, I guess.

I say you look good with a beard you gotta fix it: trim it, give it some shape, get rid of the neck beard (neck beards are gross). Other than that you have awesome thick facial hair and very nice thick hair (I envy you LOL)
