- Sailing on classic oyster smack 'Peace" built in 1909 at Brightlingsea Essex, in the Mersea Week series of races, August 2017.
Skipper Angus Milgate and crew know the quirks of the Blackwater estuary and the right tactics for these races.
I grew up sailing on the Colne. Was born at the Martello Tower @ St Osyth Stone .
After leaving the Royal Navy I worked dredging oysters for the Pyefleet Oyster Company
and emigrated to Australia In 1972. I have never found the time to return so your beautiful photography is very special to me.
Thankyou for posting here. Regards, Nick Viner.
Good start by Kate. But you got us in the end. Great race Angus.

It looks fun!
Incredible sailing. No winches?
These look like Channel pilot cutters.
