A lot of people seemed to have missed a couple details.....pain....but this hasn't released yet, Robosen sent it to me, and I was not informed till after the video went live that it is indeed Greg who voices Grimlock
You know that the studio series 07 grimlock has been re-issued in the buzzworthy bumblebee line, so maybe you could pick him up and do a review on it because he is AMAZING
This is insane, I mean even for 1500 bucks like holy smokes man! I never thought I would live to see the day that a transformer would walk, talk and transform on its own, and I feel like as time goes on these kind of products will become more commonplace. Fantastic review, warm greetings from quebec!
Best G1 Grimlock to date. Looks accurate, and the auto transformation is flawless. Additional to that fun voice commands and you got quite the party favor to show off if you can afford it. It's crazy to me theirs a market for this when average folks like me struggle to keep up with most mainline releases.
Yeah, it looks amazing. I think the reason they can get away with this kind of pricing is because original G1 fans are old enough that our kids are now adults and in many cases (at least enough people for these prices to make sense) we have the kind of disposable income one gets in the latter 3rd of their career, boosted further by an empty nest.
I think it's awesome that now as an adult I have more toys to choose from than when I was a kid. Although I can't afford most of what I want, I'm glad us big kids get the koolest stuffs.
Grimlock has always been my favorite Autobot throughout the franchise. I don’t collect masterpiece, but in the case of him and my other favorite, Soundwave, I would definitely make an exception. Absolutely adore his studio series figure and I have it proudly displayed since I took the time to customize it to give him the red eyes which I prefer. As far as this figure goes, it’s a strong maybe.
I really respect Robosen for going the extra mile and getting the OG voice actors for these figures. I feel like any other company would opt for a cheaper va.
This is just purely my blind speculation, but I think the reason he can't stand in robot mode once he's off is due to the gyros being turned off when there's no power. Gyros are usually used to balance things. In dino mode, the tail can act as another leg, so it's easier to support in that position without the gyros.
Great review. Thank you! It says something about these robots when the RUclipsr reviewers I trust all get a different RoboSen TransFormer character sent to them, and they all say that, yeah, it's cool, but the price is insane.
That;s insane, in just so many ways. Though, if one just wants a big Grimlock, one that can actually pose and stuff in robot mode, you can find upscaled MP Grimlocks for around ~150 dollars, I'm loving my one.
This is literally perfect. Except for the price and uncertainty of how long these things last. It looks perfect in design, it does everything I would want a Transformer and a dinosaur toy to do. Grimlock is in my top group of favorite Transformers, probably #1. I just don't know what to do with that price. I'd say people should Email the companies telling them that they will lose a lot of money by making the price so high. I'm sure once it is in mass production, it doesn't cost nearly as much as making the original model and it will probably harm them to not have it accessable to most Transformers collectors.
I thought the voice actor was Gregg Berger. Idk if it’s a voice modulation thing that they did for the 84 cartoon or if it’s just age, but he’s always sounded notably different when he’s portrayed Grimlock in everything since (PoTP, Devastation, FoC, etc)
I so surprised about this being released. Made my purchase today, it may be pricey but as Prime once said "No matter the cost". I had to get him to add to my collection.
Toy Guy is so cool. Coolest intro ever for a robosen figure. Are they going to make a a Megatron for robosen? Coolest robosen figure ever. Grimlock is the king of robosen. Grimlock is my favorite. I love the detail on it. 1500 dollars? Also you have a Cute Dog.
I wish they could add a feature where ChatGPT can actually act as an AI for it using natural language detection. That would be awesome and that the Bot can answer on its own.
What's funny is ai just saw this video and just saw the reveal on Instagram. Also to answer your question the voice actor for the toy is Gregg Berger. That's why he sounds just like him.
One of my favorite series is Transformers, one of my favorite characters is Grimlock. This feels like he is really alive! They even gave him Gregg Berger's voice! Too bad it is way too expensive. They need to lower the price. It is going to make them lose money because if more people could buy it, it would add up to a lot more. They even made it Canon that he can fart! That is one of my favorite humor subjects! They did so much right, I'm just disappointed that they aren't making it more realistically affordable.
When I first saw the reveals for this, I nearly cried. It was cool that Robosen started this line of autoconverting Transformers, but I never liked the optimus prime all that much so I didn't have much interest in buying him. Grimlock however, looks glorious! And all I can say is, so much for my college savings... JK! This is still too expensive for me to buy. But maybe if down the road, I have the money for this I might buy it (that is if they're still making this product several years from now)
I have severe tinnitus and wondering if the motors and servos would be comfortable for me when I'm reading in my living room, and if so I think the $1,500 investment would be worth it.
The chest doesn't move (I think) and the legs transform differently, but otherwise the overall mould itself is the exact same. Though, Grimlock's transformation hasn't really changed that much since G1 at all, and he's basically perfected at this point.
Dude! That's fucking amazing! We have Transformers that transform now! I would have died for these as a kid, so to save my inner child I'll have to drop the cash on these. At the expense of my adult self, of course. This thing costs, like, four and half days' pay.
He a Big Boi , They just should have Made prime a bit smaller His transformation is spot On.The prime doesn't transform accurate but his commands are better the dancing 😂 push ups Etc...
Man, I absolutely love the look of this thing in both modes, but yeesh, that price. I mean, that 4ft Fort Max Fans Toys is supposedly coming out with might cost less than this.
Nope, that sounds like Greg Berger. He voiced Ripto again in the Spyro reignited trilogy and, judging by this video, that sounds like him! Yea, it doesn't sound like Grimlock that much but it has been almost 40 years since he first played our big shiny dino boi.
For the price, I would rather track down the SS86 figure or a MP scale version. I don't get the hype for Robosen products, sure they transform automatically but you can't do anything fun with them since they can't be handled. That's the whole point of Transformers, theyre meant to be puzzles but Robosen went and did this instead. Sure it's kinda impressive but I'm confident it could've been made way sooner.
Engineering 101, the more moving parts, the quicker it is to break. It's an expensive shelf warmer, but hey, at least the company sells a warranty program for it :v
As a collector i love the item, but no way in hell im paying 1500.00 for motorized frágil plastic. Parts on these things break easily. 20 transfprmations and it stops. Lol. That much $$ for a transformer just to say i got one...i'll keep the money in my pocket
A lot of people seemed to have missed a couple details.....pain....but this hasn't released yet, Robosen sent it to me, and I was not informed till after the video went live that it is indeed Greg who voices Grimlock
Toy guy how on earth did you get the must expensive robosen ever 😅

I wish those Legos, toys, and stuffed animals can talk, and move.
The release rate for these robosen things is insane. I feel like even 1 a year would be pushing it for most of their potential customer base
I was thinking the same thing
This is insane, I mean even for 1500 bucks like holy smokes man! I never thought I would live to see the day that a transformer would walk, talk and transform on its own, and I feel like as time goes on these kind of products will become more commonplace.

Not as impressive, but they have a Optimus prime as well
@@ACookie3994 i know!! Its amazing, but this one is just on another level
One day kids will use there phones to control Xbox and primes fight in the living room
Bro these robosens are popping out like crazy! I didn’t even know this existed!
me too
I only read a comment that a grimlock was announced but damn I didn't know he was going to be released this soon
It just came out less than a day ago
Tf!! They giving him away to ppl who weren’t positive on Optimus! That’s some serious brand honesty!!!
Unlike you.
@@DiggitySliceUnlike you!
I guess I don’t like Optimus in that case
(Jk I think it’s cool I just want grimlock)
Well I hate Optimus now

Robosen is really taking it to the next level this year, there were so many bots I didn't even think would be made by now.

Something about the transformation if robot to dinosaur is so cool looking
I really respect Robosen for going the extra mile and getting the OG voice actors for these figures. I feel like any other company would opt for a cheaper va.
Everything about this is insane.... Including the price.
Grimlock looks cheap in that bright silver color... it should have been more gray like the original. Also some withering would be epic for realism.
This grimlock can be best birthday present for any g1 fans
If I had this when G1 cartoon came out for the first time, I would've been a god among men...
WOW. Optimus was decently impressive in design but this Grimlock seems phenomenal.
Just wow. Didnt even know this was coming out. Expensive yes, but also impressive as hell.
This is just purely my blind speculation, but I think the reason he can't stand in robot mode once he's off is due to the gyros being turned off when there's no power. Gyros are usually used to balance things. In dino mode, the tail can act as another leg, so it's easier to support in that position without the gyros.
It cant stand due to the heaviness of the parts and because the servos are looser on Grimlock than on the Rotb prime and Bumblebee
@@BigJickle Yeah, I forgot about the servos needed to keep it standing. The servos aren't going to work without power.
Having Greg Berger himself is what clinches it. This is superb. I hope they make a smaller version. And a freebie, you've made the big time Toy Guy!
2 things:
1- this is absolutely insane, I wish I could get this
2- you are right, this thing looks near identical to the MP Grimlock
honestly his auto-transformation surprised me of how those servos can transform him, whilst being able to stand!
What a time to be alive.
Awesome stuff!
Great review. Thank you!

9:10 ''Me Grimlock drunk! Me Grimlock need designated driver!''
Hey it’s the same price as trying to get an 86 grimlock
I love this! Grimlock's actions are perfect and that transformation looks so cool!
unlike what people say, on their website it says the voice actually is greg burger who apparently recorded over 150 lines exclusively for this
I was in crazed awe in how you already have this when it was just announced today, when I realized you got an early prototype
That;s insane, in just so many ways. Though, if one just wants a big Grimlock, one that can actually pose and stuff in robot mode, you can find upscaled MP Grimlocks for around ~150 dollars, I'm loving my one.
Ain’t no way bro already got him. But holy cow this is awesome
Still sad no decepticons. COMEE ONNNN. Soundwave that plays music and transformers!
A lot of the old masterpiece figures probably still hold up in terms of engineering and durability, i’m still trying to get me a damn MP 10.
This is literally perfect. Except for the price and uncertainty of how long these things last. It looks perfect in design, it does everything I would want a Transformer and a dinosaur toy to do. @@jedijack0577 oh I’m not saying he sounded bad at all, just you could tell he sounded a bit different than in the ‘80s
Agreed. Even when it is Greg doing the voice in all these newer versions he just sounds different from the G1 cartoon
It’s gotta be age.
Great review, bonus points for showing the dog reacting to grimlocks transformation.
I so surprised about this being released. Made my purchase today, it may be pricey but as Prime once said "No matter the cost". I had to get him to add to my collection.
Congratulations! Hope you love him!
I don't care if someone else has noticed it. It is side hurting levels of funny that you need to pick grimlock up like a duck.
Wheeljack and Ratchet did an excellent job when creating the dinobots.
It's beautiful. I have a couple of these Robosen releases but as much as I love this one I'll wait for the Elite version. Limited Edition. Sure. 🖐️
Thanks for this test video of Grimlock! You just sold one 😊
Dude you should do more reviews with your dad! Its just wholesome 😆
I'm really jealous of you this time...this is the real deal. It looks totally like a real toy.
It looks so good, love the detail on this.
this came out of no where when i was watching RID 01

$1500.00 FUCKING DOLLARS!!!??? Totally worth it!😁 I won't buy but I understand others will.
US $ conversion to Canadian $ is facts.. I'm still paying off Optimus Prime.. Now I want Grimlock..
As a grimlock fanboy, I want this so damn much, hopefuly they make a fall of cybertron version of this
the engeneering on the servos dampening and balancing must be crazy!!!
Interesting power button location

These Robosen figures are amazing, but I guess it remains to be seen how long they can hold up with those servos/motors.
Like all things if it isn't abused and taken care of it should be fine. No issues with my Prime so far.
Robosen should make a megazord that forms together on its own and then can separate back apart.
My biggest gripe with this figure is its size. I was hoping it was bigger than Robosen Optimus
He a Big Boi ,
They just should have
Made prime a bit smaller
His transformation is spot
On.The prime doesn't transform

better the dancing 😂 push ups

This one is an absolute beast!
I'd buy it, that's what credit is for. When I finish remodeling my house, he and prime will find a place in my office.
