I want to see how it’ll compare to other characters from the wave or theme. Don’t compare an Optimus to a Dasani bottle. Compare Optimus to another Optimus or two, a Bumblebee and maybe a recent Megatron. You know?

Picked this guy up a couple months ago, and he's now the centrepiece of my 3rd party shelf. Absolute unit of a figure, and a marvel of engineering. The fact he can even stand up as a Dino is unreal when you look at the figure. His legs are so far back that you'd naturally assume he'd be front heavy and fall over. But that die-cast panel that forms his mace manages to counter balance the figure by weighing down his ass so he doesn't fall over. It's insane. Also, quick aside, you neglected to mention the Dino mode has a posable tongue. That detail adds a lot to the look of this guy. All those promo renders for the movie had his tongue sticking out when he roars, and this figure can do that too, and it looks fantastic.
Just took this guy down off the shelf to play with. My favorite bit of engineering is how the tail and head swap places while still allowing for a waist joint.
This figure is amazing, especially as a display piece. I wish the dino mode was easier to get to stand up though, and I don't like how the staff partsforms but also can't store the handle part or the mace hand part, but overall for the price that TFSafari has him listed for, this thing is great.
I actually got this guy when he first came out. He's pretty damn good, incredibly simple for what he pulls off. But due to the size and heft he's kind of a chore to handle. And the small mace doesn't fit in his hand. I guess that's something that they fixed with the later releases like this one, along with some tolerances.
This looks like a big upgrade to AoE Leader Grimlock with a touch of SS. AoE Grim was one of my most nostalgic toys and man, would love to buy this one
I still think my favorite version of this figure is the much larger black mamba version that is essentially a oversized retool and upgraded version of the studio series because I like my figures big. With integrated weapons storage. As far as I'm aware the Black Mamba version is still only 80 or 90 bucks

I wanted to get this guy years ago when it first came out. However, the 279 usd price point and underwhelming scaling made me rethink that decision. If this guy was the size of Black Mamba Grimlock, then it would have been an easy yes. But it's not, so it's cool for what it is as a standalone figure.
Amazing for a 3rd party release. Great/size/accessories/value for the price this one rings up. The small Prime is also very nicely done and a fun accessory. I think it would be hilarious if this guy was released in purple green for a nightmare fuel rendition of Barney. The proportions are there in dino mode considering how big the head is.

I like the look of the gc one but I personally went with the black mamba because it scaled with my scorn from them and he looks a bit better in robot mode which i value more since i display my figure in robot mode

Yolopark doesn’t transform which is why they come in sheets, but if you want similarly good non-transforming figures, threezero knocks it out of the park. If you want something that transforms, black mamba and weijiang are very good 3rd party sellers
Who cares? It looks crazy good in both modes and 80% of tf fans prefer that anyways. Plus this isn’t an official figure, the official looks much worse in comparison but at the cost of being smaller and more simple
