Nice video. I keep bumping into your synth stuff, which is very high quality. I'm schocked that you don't have more subscribers, your produce oozes quality.
@@dannybrazen Like I said, I'm eager to get back to playing it. When I was a teenager, I would have loved to had a synth like this. I built a couple of synths from circuits in magazines and built a Gnome before a friend got an MS-10 for our band. Getting the SH-7 when I did was a real stroke of luck.
@@MisAnnThorpe I was looking for one, but they’re hard to find. From the demo’s online I suspect this might indeed be a special sounding SH, but I’ve never played one. In the meantime I still have to do a demo on the SH2
@@rimela Both are amazing, they are pretty rare. SH-1 even rarer I think. They popped up in excellent condition for sale after one year of searching. went for the SH-2. Having also the Jupiter 4 that can do cool mono sounds and the system 500. I also really like the SH-1000 ...
Great demo! It was about time someone put together a decent presentation of the SH-7. If you want to explore drum sounds further, I would recommend multitracking/layering. I've done quite a few tracks using the SH-7 for all sounds including drums.
Congrats on your purchase! It is really one of the best synths out there. I have it permanently setup in my studio and I use it almost in every track or session. One of my favorite sounds is to setup the two Osc’s about the same (and not use the sub) and then play it paraphonic (fifths, quarters, …) with the Ring Mod dialled in. Using this setting do filter sweeps and bend notes. It works every time (in my video I did this a lot).
@@rimela Thanks for your Tip ! I have also a SH1/2/09/03a in the Studio ... All serviced - all modified with Midi - I'm absolutely in Love with these vintage Roland Machines ! Thanks for your great Channel, your Polaris Vid is also great, have one too !
@@rimela I love both and ist is nice to Uwe them simultaneously with a sequenzer like my Cirklon, but if I were you I would buy the SH1 (System 100 filter) or the SH3a. The SH3a is such an underrated synth ...
@@rimela sh 09 is an sh-2 with just one osc. Not really any other difference. I have one. Love it but it's less useful than a 2. Wish I had one of those too!
Thanks! I used the dotcom Q174 midi -> cv/gate module. Midi sequencing in Ableton Live. In the second half I used the Q960 sequencer. All audio recording in Ableton.
Thanks a lot! Working with different time signatures is always fun. To omit this from a SH-7 demo would be a missed opportunity 😄 They were made between 1978 and 1981 I think.
You truly are a brilliant composer. Your skill with this vintage classic is profound.
Thank you very much!
Great job. I’ve watched hundred + vintage synth RUclips videos today. This was the best.
Thanks Edgard!
Kudos for the Doctor Who hommage!
Ha Markus, thanks!
This demos is awesome.
One of best synth music that I heard lately.
You have a very good taste!
Thanks for that 💙
Thank you so much Jo
This is truly fantastic. I was just looking for a demo of the SH-7 and instead found an amazing EP.
Excellent demo, love the nod to the Dr Who theme
Unbelievably good, you’ve captured the very essence of the SH-7.

Thank you very much Reid!
Beautiful work and inspiring! :)
I've had one of these sitting unused for the last 25 years, and I'm eager to get back to playing it.
Want to sell it to me?

Really great job with the multitracking . Unmistakable Vince Clarke'ish Roland sounds.
Absolutely fantastic presentation!
Thank you!
Now THAT, is a demo!
Wow, amazing use of one synth, very tasteful!
Great synth! Fantastic music! Thanks for doing this.
Featured on the INXS video "Don't change"
Nice, I've only ever owned an SH-101. Always really, really wanted one of those older model SH Synths, especially the SH-2.
Actually, the SH-2 I think is the one to go for within the SH range, or better yet, as the name implies, you Should Have 2 of those
@@rimela I'd argue that the SH-1 is THE ONE!

Absolutely terrific stuff. 18 subscribers? Let's see if we can't make it 19
Thanks!
Very well done!
I'd love to add a SH-7 to my studio but it's very rare to find one
Thanks! Indeed, first time I saw one I grabbed it, so glad I did. It is a great studio synth as well as a performance synth.

@@AllureMusicLab I have the SH2 as well. Will do a video one day.
Do you think it's worthwhile getting a SH09 too?

Oh you had one for this too, excellent. It sounds like Abba could have used it on Gimme Gimme :)
That was an Arp Odyssey. You could do that on an SH7 (but I never did 😄)
Superb 🙏
Amazing Work !!!
As long as it's wonderful. I admire you.
The best SH vid I can tell it’s all SH7 I gota ask how did you go about seq. Them works? Seems like MC4/Daw mixture?

Very good
The bass on this baby is sweet!
Really nice playing.
Incredible
3:25 Doctor Who inspired lead???
Yes, you got me :)
Awesome!
dope.
Thanks.
I like your usage of the 7/4 song. It’s all put together so well. What year’s did they make this synth?

This thing fucks
That is one way to look at it 😆
This is sick. Looked on eBay... Ouch. £4000 or more. I'll stick with the sh-09 that I paid £26 for 🤣
Prices are crazy indeed. Wouldn’t buy now, but I’m not selling either 😄
Gaaf
😉🤤😪
