Get Ready to Break the Ice and Revise with Fun!
In this interactive and engaging icebreaker activity, we'll show you how to create a lively and dynamic atmosphere in your English classroom. It's perfect for the first day of class or as a quick revision tool at the beginning of follow-up sessions.
    Activity Description:
    Step 1: Icebreaker Round
As students enter the classroom, greet them warmly and ask, "What's your name?"
Once they respond with their names, hand them a softball.
Encourage students to form a circle in the classroom.
Step 2: Pass the Icebreaker Ball
The fun begins as you start by saying your name and then throw the ball to a student across the circle.
The student who catches the ball must introduce themselves by saying their name, and then they throw the ball to someone else.
This continues until everyone in the circle has had a turn, and they've learned each other's names.
    Step 3: The Revision Round
After the ice is broken, it's time to reinforce English language skills.
At the beginning of your subsequent classes, allocate about 15 minutes for this icebreaker activity.
Instead of names, ask students questions related to the previous lesson or general topics. For example, "What is your favorite food?" or "What's your favorite animal?"
The student catching the ball should answer the question and then toss it to someone else, who will respond and ask a new question.
This pattern continues, allowing students to practice speaking and revising previous lesson content in a fun and relaxed environment.
    Benefits:
Icebreaking: Students get to know each other and feel more comfortable in the classroom.
Engagement: The interactive nature of the activity keeps students engaged and excited about learning.
Revision: It's an effective way to review and reinforce previous lesson material.
Communication Skills: Students practice speaking and listening in English, improving their language skills.
By combining the icebreaker and revision aspects, this activity sets a positive tone for your English class while ensuring that students remember and apply what they've learned. Enjoy the energy and enthusiasm it brings to your classroom!
