    Great review, and this kind of slide-out screens always reminds me of the W700ds, which is neat (even though the price point is understandably and similarly... steep) :)
    Hoping for all the best for your channel in 2023 :)

      @@LaptopRetrospective You were able to clearly explain the main features of the product and some points to note, giving me a good reference when selecting the product.

    Definitely not something I would personally use and I've never seen the appeal of multiple screens, especially on laptops. I would, however, think that this is more of something that would be better suited to a mobile workstation as those should be built better to the point where adding a pound or two of weight to the lid is inconsequential regarding not only overall unit weight but also the effects of having that extra weight hanging off the laptop.

    • @LaptopRetrospective
      @LaptopRetrospective  Год назад

      Agreed. This version did not fit on any workstation I own and function properly once installed.

      @@LaptopRetrospective How come it didn't fit on a workstation or work properly? I thought that would have been the perfect platform given the extra size and rigidity.

      When you pull out the screen it doesn't pull out far enough so you can't see the full thing or flip it over.

      @@LaptopRetrospective Good point. I guess you'd have to install it more to the side that the screen extends, which would make it even more unsightly and an imbalance in weight.

    • @LaptopRetrospective
      @LaptopRetrospective  Год назад

      Correct and then it only works on that one side. I did film an installation on a W series but deleted it for the reasons we've both mentioned.

    Is there any worry about the magnets damaging your laptop?

    • @LaptopRetrospective
      @LaptopRetrospective  11 месяцев назад

      I haven't read any specific issues that tie back to this method but there are lots of other good alternatives out there, several that I've reviewed on this channel.

    I've had the triple setup for the past few years. The magnets are pretty reliable and they're not too expensive to buy more (I still have a dozen spares in my bag for future laptops). I need both a Portrait and Landscape extension, so this has been a fantastic investment for me, personally

      @@LaptopRetrospective I've used it with a dozen types thanks to the independent stand capabilities, but I have magnetically attached it to a 15" Dell (don't recall the model) and current 15" HP Envy

      @@LaptopRetrospective Sorry I misrepresented what I meant, the monitor itself opens so it can stand on its own, when you slide it out of the holder and rotate it. Much the same as how you showed it can stand horizontal and vertical
