If you like blaxploitation horror movies, you GOTTA check out Bones. It's basically like a blaxploitation Nightmare on Elm Street with Snoop Dogg (A HUGE horror fan) as Jimmy Bones, the villain. You'd LOVE it!
I have felt for the longest time that Tyler Perry needs to be sued for false advertising. He markets his Madea films one way, then they always turn out to be something else. And yes, all of his movies look this basic. They all look so cheaply shot and cheaply made. Mainly because they're generally made on a budget of less than ten million dollars. I'm not even the least bit surprised that the marketing for this film turned out to be a Herculean fib.
I'm not surprised that Tyler Perry went the route he took with this movie. Now, I would blame the studio who marketed this as a horror comedy when they knew wasn't. I believe that the studio wanted to bring in more than just people who love Madea. I think Tyler just made this movie since he already made one for Christmas and Thanksgiving.
Hell yes! Cecil and Double Toasted (AKA Spilldotcom) have the best review channels on RUclips. I only wish Co-Host and Cyrus had come along from Spill and joined Double Toasted.
Word Unheard Yeah it's a shame. Their UP review was still my favorite. Also, glad Cargill went from spill to Sinister and Sinister 2 to Dr. Strange also. I think co-host came back for an episode didn't he on double toasted?
Dirk Leon I'm not sure. I've read comments saying he did, but I've never seen the episode. I'm very happy for Cargill. And I'm glad he still comes back to Double Toasted for interviews. I loved the review for Lockout. I thought Cyrus and Co-Host were going to kill each other in that one. Too funny! I can't remember the Up review, so I'll definitely check it out.
everett von scott I do, but these 2 channels are the only ones that I'm excited to view. avgn is great and so are Jeremy jahns... ....but those 2 channels can either make me laugh insanely hard or rethink the way I have seen certain films.
Better idea for a Madea Halloween movie from a old fan who thinks Tyler Perry's work has gotten stale: A serial killer breaks out of the mental asylum and returns to his old house. One of Madea's many relatives is living there and Madea is paying a visit. The serial killer tries to kill the people there, but is stopped stopped through slapstick. The characters don't even know the killer is there for most of the movie.
Yeah, they could've used the old "costume party across the street, someone comes dressed as an all too realistically detailed zombie, but turns out to really *be* a zombie, and starts infecting the party goers, causing a zombie outbreak" angle. Simple.
"Oh hell nah, child I came to babysit so get off my lawn and keep it down you dumb undead freaks" yeah I think madea vs zombies would have made for a obscure funny comedy
I'm shocked that their still making Madea movies considering that the box office turn-out for the last couple ones we're flat out bombs or barely broke even.
your absolutely right this movie had so much potential to be possibly the best comedy horror movie this year but it just a waist of time or to use youtube expressions the biggest click bait ever.
I had no idea who he was until after the movie. While watching it I was like "why are they giving this guy so much screen time, he's terrible!". Then I found out why.
Y'all should just enjoy the movie for what it is as a comedy and not a big production film.Tyler Perry did the best he could to give the audience what they wanted and at the end of the day I enjoyed this film a lot. He may not be the best director but he sure is one hell of an entertainer.
William Tamayo pretty sure he wouldn't mind the Mis-Marketing strategy if the movie was actually Funny. I will say that Midnight Screenings (SGP) did a review and they said that people in the Theater were dying of laughter.
curly sue I watched a bootleg out of curiosity, and the audience was dying, and I didn't understand why. I swear the scene where they first go to Brian's house and talk about punishing children lasted 10 tedious unfunny minutes. And FUCK that annoying ass old lady played by an obviously younger lady character -- obnoxious as hell.
That Hellurween poster made me mad and disappointed, all at the same time. When I first saw it in the lobby of my theater under Coming Soon, I thought Fathom Events was doing a special screening of John's Carpenter's Halloween. It's like when you think you see a hundred dollar bill on the ground, pick it up, only to find out it's one of those religious pamphlets, made to look like a hundred dollar bill. Gurdurm you, Turlur Purry! Thanks for the spoiler, Cecil. This is one of the few times I welcome any spoilers.
Your review was exactly how I felt. I was expecting this fun horror comedy with Madea and her friends fighting zombies and stuff. And instead, we got an overly preachy mess. They really did miss every opportunity. The trailer is better than the movie.
Man, I really hoped they would've just jumped the shark, said "Fuck It", and actually put Madea in a full-fledged horror movie and let her just react in her "unique" way. She's already a damn cartoon character, this generation's Ernest, so this could've basically been Madea Scared Stupid. Or Madea Scurred Stupid, if you will.
I consider Madea to be to the African American version of Earnest P Worrell. When I saw the trailer for this I could not stop myself from thinking of Earnest Scared Stupid.
Great review, Cecil. I will say this, this film did have a lot of potential, I remember the tv show Martin had an awesome Halloween episode, this movie could've been something along those lines. I don't think Perry is a terrible director, I think he does the same love story/moral tale most of the time and it feels like his plays. I think this could've been something to stand out from his other films. Shame, it was kinda more of the same.
It's interesting that you say you were disappointed that this was more of a family drama comedy than horror comedy. My mom loves Medea movies and if it didn't include the essential uplifting family drama that all Madea movies have... she would have been disappointed. The movie took the family drama route because that's why the target audience loves Madea movies.
Could your do an Exploring into The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. I know you did an exploring into the saga a while back but it'd be awesome if you could just look into that one particular film.
^_^ I can't believe you went to see this LOL! and the first thing I thought when this popped up in my feed was, "YOU ARE NOT Tyler Perry's target demographic!" and sure as heck you said that hahahahah!
Which is the less painful scenario: Getting kicked in the balls for about 100 mins, or sitting through a Tyler Perry movie? The first choice would be less painful, even though most people would equate the two scenarios as being equal in the amount of anguish they will cause. Lol!
+@@djmreacts5808 Because RUclipsrs are literally Worthless Attention Whores who cannot survive in a Professional Environment! I have worked on several productions where some Dipshit RUclipsr was brought on either as a Principal Actor or as a Cameo, they couldn't remember their lines, hit their marks, their delivery was awful with weird inflections in their cadence like everything was a question, they were unable to take direction, they assumed that their bad takes would be edited and pasted together instead of just performing the scene as directed, they all had Ridiculous Ego's that made the Real Celebrities look Humble in comparison, they were always extremely disrespectful to all the members of the Crew (Grips, Make-up, Catering, Lighting, etc) that weren't in positions of power over them, they would refuse to keep consistent eye lines when doing coverage, there was always a mountain of complaints that would happen on a daily basis. Children and Animals are literally easier to work with, than these RUclipsrs, there's a reason why these people rarely transition from RUclips to Film, as 99.9% of them are Worthless Talent Vacuums that successfully Manipulated Idiots into thinking that they had anything of substance to say.
When i saw the trailer for the movie I thought maybe it would be like the old Ernest movies like Ernest goes to jail movie. I think he did a Halloween one but can not remember the name of it.
I was hoping this movie would be dead rising meets Medea which would have been awesome. When this movie was actually "horror" I enjoyed it. But that was only for a fraction of the movie which sucked. I was so disappointed.
One of the reasons I dislike Tyler Perry is because the devolving quality of his films. The first movie DoaMBW had great quality, solid actors, and a decent narrative. Now his films look like low budget straight to video movies from the 90s.
I was disappointed in this movie, it had a few funny moments but just hated how it was basically a comedy drama with serious moments toward the end. Only other Tyler Perry movie i seen is Diary of a Mad Black Women.
Damnit... I *hate* false advertisement. Err, it really irks me when studios lie like that to broaden their potential audience. With all that advertisement, you would think... but, no. Missed opportunity, I absolutely agree GoodBadFlicks. Great review mate! Cheers!
I'd never watch this move to begin with but even I went 'oh thats neat, theyre doing something different' when I read the synopsis of this movie. That's some lying ass bullshit.
As a fellow bad movie fan, I've seen a lot of shit, and Tyler Perry is bad by those standards. As a writer, he seems to have no idea how people, society, or pretty much anything actually function. As a director he has no real sense of style or ambition. And as an actor he is painful to watch, except for Gone Girl because David Fincher apparently can polish a turd. I saw this movie tonight, and it was just awful. I laughed 1 maybe 2 times, the entire theater was laughing out loud for most of it for some reason, I have no idea why.

TheMovieDoctorful LOVED that movie, he has actually mentioned once in another video
"Madea Vs. Zombies"
NOW THAT!! Would've been a fucking movie, not the play it safe bullshit we got!!
tyler perry + fouseytube = a no from me
CANCEROUS
LuckySTR8 i was about to say the same thing
lmao XD
LuckySTR8 I used to love FouseyTube when I was younger, but honestly, he's a total fucking wanker.
Preach!
Everything I know about Tyler Perry is from The Boondocks.
anxietydown now, if you'll excuse me I'm gonna get me some Kool aid ;)
South Park added some interesting tidbits as well.
Love your reviews and how you're releasing so much! Thanks for all the work you're doing.
Thank you!
+GoodBadFlicks have you seen movie carnosaur or warrior's
+Tom Scharstein II o sorry
Your channel is my go to for reviews at this point. No bias, no bs. Absolutely love the exploration vids.
Never go into a Madea movie with expectations.
Putrid Promotions never go into a Madea movie period.
All of Tyler Perry movies look like they were made for t.v. or straight to video
I have felt for the longest time that Tyler Perry needs to be sued for false advertising. He markets his Madea films one way, then they always turn out to be something else. Congratulations on well now passing 100,000 subscribers been a sub for a long time you deserve it.
Thanks so much! :)
Did you got the Silver Button from RUclips?
Who gives a fuck? You don't need a plastic right arrow key on your wall to be a good youtuber.
Cecil, you and double toasted are the only reasons why I still love youtube. the end

+Dirk Leon So of all the millions of people that put of videos on youtube you only enjoy two?
Open your horizons, man.

F-ing false advertising. man... Thanks for the early review, you've just saved some horror comedy fans some money.
Making it through the trailer was hard enough, but actually going to watch this might've been the scariest thing you could do for Halloween.
I didn't expect Madea to turn into a cyber-thriller
tyler perrys whole career is defined by playing drag. awesome.
Truly a national treasure ?
Token from South Park liked it.
Artistic wings? The guy have to be tricked to work with david fincher in gone girl
good review. I also expected it to be Madea vs zombies or some type of Shaun of the Dead movie.
YES OMG AT THE END WHEN YOU SAID ABOUT HACKING THE MIRROR I THOUGTT THE SAME THING!!!!! I THOIGHT I WSS ALONE
Yeah, they could've used the old "costume party across the street, someone comes dressed as an all too realistically detailed zombie, but turns out to really *be* a zombie, and starts infecting the party goers, causing a zombie outbreak" angle. Simple.
Typical Tyler Perry movie then
"Oh hell nah, child I came to babysit so get off my lawn and keep it down you dumb undead freaks" yeah I think madea vs zombies would have made for a obscure funny comedy
Thanks for your review. Your review confirmed my suspicions and I will AVOID it like the plague or presidential debates.
Holy shit Cecil you passed 100k! I just noticed lol. I've been watching since you had like 8k. Keep up the great work :)
You honestly thought it was gonna be good.. (chuckle/snort) What a GOOF!
XD
I'm shocked that their still making Madea movies considering that the box office turn-out for the last couple ones we're flat out bombs or barely broke even.
your absolutely right this movie had so much potential to be possibly the best comedy horror movie this year but it just a waist of time or to use youtube expressions the biggest click bait ever.
*waste
I don't think madea has a target demo lol
Somebody keeps going to see these. I just checked and he's been releasing at least 1 per year since 2002
GoodBadFlicks Black moms and aunties for the most part
I use to work at a movie theater for awhile. Black people populate these movies.
After seeing FouseyTube, I immediately cringed the fuck out. Like, I seriously cringed, not to overuse the word.
It was a 20 million dollar production that was marketed as Madea vs Zombies.

every time Tyler Perry opens his mouth he sets black people back 1000 years
LOL !!! I'd rather have teeth pulled than sit through this or anything that has Tyler Perry attached to it.
feels like we're listening to Sean Murray lied to us again except this time is Tyler Perry
Do John dies at the end or Frankensteins Army
That Hellurween poster made me mad and disappointed, all at the same time. They blew it big time
I'm not surprised that this movie sucked.
I can't help but think Perry needs an intervention. This is his 21st portrayal of the character. Yikes.
Man, I really hoped they would've just jumped the shark, said "Fuck It", and actually put Madea in a full-fledged horror movie and let her just react in her "unique" way. She's already a damn cartoon character, this generation's Ernest, so this could've basically been Madea Scared Stupid. Or Madea Scurred Stupid, if you will.
great review man thank god i didn't see this movie
Thanks!
GoodBadFlicks anytime man :)
Sounds like bleeugh. Thanks for saving me from ever having to see this.
I can't stand Tyler Perry at all. Except in Gone Girl.
RUclips copied my comment, so now you're reading this instead.
I didn't even realize it was Perry 'til the credits rolled xD Yeah, he was pretty convincing in that one indeed
Gone Girl was a good film. And boy he nailed it.
He was alright in Star Trek as well lol
Racists everywhere doesn't know good taste
Madea movies are a guilty pleasure
Tyler Perry "Temptation" is the only Tyler Perry movie I've watched and frankly the only thing I found enjoyable from Tyler Perry.
Why did you waste your time and money
Have you ever considered reviewing Eight Legged Freaks (Or Arach Attack depending on where you're living)
I know how u feel bro, when I first saw the poster I was on the hype train today I saw the movie today...........and BOY it disappoint
.
I was so bummed, they really could have had a major cult classic on their hands.
I consider Madea to be to the African American version of Earnest P Worrell. When I saw the trailer for this I could not stop myself from thinking of Earnest Scared Stupid.
Dammnn.....you broke that down to the ground!!!! okayyy.
Awesome review!
Thanks!
Leroys momma vs zombies. Now thats what i want to see
Every Tyler Perry movie is awful. You're not missing anything by avoiding them.
i wanted madea vs zombies!! >.> thanks for warning us lol
fucking FouseyTube is in this movie?! HAHAHAHHA

So this was false advertising?
big time

Never heard of the madea series... seems like i didnt miss anything.
I envy you
When your movie has RUclipsr's as "actors" that's when you know you're scraping the bottom of the talent barrel.
How
+@@djmreacts5808
Because RUclipsrs are literally Worthless Attention Whores who cannot survive in a Professional Environment!

Good point
When i saw the trailer for the movie I thought maybe it would be like the old Ernest movies like Ernest goes to jail movie. I think he did a Halloween one but can not remember the name of it.
Scared Stupid, it's the best Ernest movie.
kudos on watching a whole madea movie. I can't even sit through a tv spot.
Is Madea an American thing only? Going on IMDB and seeing how many there are I've never heard of it before
You know it's shit when it's got FouseyTube.
Hack the Planet!
...
Had to say it.
Good thing I saw this review cause I thought it was Medea/zombies type deal and looked funny. Cross this off my list
Basic is the perfect word for this movie
Did Tyler Perry get the guy who's in charge of the marketing for Disney?
this is the only
MADEA movie I liked other than the
CHRISTMAS movie
lol he has so much faith in movies
Possible Jack Reacher review soon?
I was hoping this movie would be dead rising meets Medea which would have been awesome. When this movie was actually "horror" I enjoyed it. But that was only for a fraction of the movie which sucked. I was so disappointed.

Well, it's a Madea/Tyler Perry movie, so false statements and false advertising are pretty common.
Wherever this movie falls on the rating scale, minus 2 points just for having fousey in it.
I was disappointed in this movie, it had a few funny moments but just hated how it was basically a comedy drama with serious moments toward the end. Only other Tyler Perry movie i seen is Diary of a Mad Black Women.
Thanks for the heads up. I was thinking of going to see it. Now I won't.
WHAT!!! No Zombies !!!!
I just watch this movie with my family today.....
Damnit... I *hate* false advertisement. Err, it really irks me when studios lie like that to broaden their potential audience. With all that advertisement, you would think... but, no. Missed opportunity, I absolutely agree GoodBadFlicks. Great review mate! Cheers!

You poor, poor smuck!
I've never even heard of these movies, I don't think they sell well in EU.
its pretty much just a US thing, they don't do well overseas
Yeah, Tyler Perry should go balls to the wall, and only act and produce. Probably never gonna happen.
Ugh is that the dude from RUclips as one of the frat boys?!
DarkKnightFanBoy yup :/
fousey tube
JesusLovesUsAll777 liza Koshy (?) is another YTer in the movie.
Holy shit! One of that girl's friends is Lexy Panterra. And if I just compelled you to Google that name, you're welcome.
Ah ok, now I understand why she randomly started twerking in the movie

As a director he has no real sense of style or ambition. And as an actor he is painful to watch, except for Gone Girl because David Fincher apparently can polish a turd.

These movies are just an excuse for Tyler Perry dressing in drag.
No wonder it was titled"Boo"
I saw this movie tonight, and it was just awful. I laughed 1 maybe 2 times, the entire theater was laughing out loud for most of it for some reason, I have no idea why.
1:22 FOUSEYTUBE WTF
Man, that's disappointing. Would've actually seen Madea vs Zombies.

Boi stop hating that was a good movie
I get that you were excited from the marketing of this movie...but your complaints come off as clueless. "A basic, occasionally funny, comedy drama that looks like a tv movie."?

Yeah, I had no expectations for this movie.
The Madea movies were shit, and this movie met my expectations.
