Cant belive that in 2023, BATTLE GEAR 3 turned 21 years old.... I still remembered this iconic game on my PS2. The PS2 Battle Gear 3 has around 66 cars in total whilst on Arcade, it has 70.
All of these Asian racing simulators are all similar but Gran Turismo is the most well known one.
Cool thing about this game is that there’s not only Initial D cars but there’s also some Wangan Midnight cars on the list as well.
Only Reina R32 appear
I'd maybe make a case that the tuned R33 is based on Kuroki's.

Ahhhhhh, Battle Gear 3. This game probably accounted for 90% of the coins I spent at the nickel arcade I used to go to on special occasions. It was pretty weird, seeing a Japanese game at some arcade in Oregon, but the game was still fun as all hell, and all the different cars kept having me putting in more and more nickels. They were begging to be raced!
Also, I wonder how the arcade even got the cabinet, since most of them have a warning on startup saying they're only allowed to be used in a certain region. They must've bribed some UN arcade council or whatever, lol
Battle Gear 3 is now 21 years old (2002-2023).
Woah! I go to that arcade! I remember when they had that game with Wangan Midnight and Battle Gear 2 and Thrill Drive 2 at another location. Sad that they're gone now.

I actually played the Arcade version of Battle Gear 3 and i remember it having various touge stages and that the graphics are rather good. I think the cars even had their own detailed interiors!
Wish Gran Turismo 7 has touge tracks like in Battle Gear 3.

Yeah, most likely Kaido Battle 2 / Kaido Racer intro especially that RX7 FD3S drifting shot. But remember, this game was before Kaido Battle 2.

After BG3/BG3T, the sequel BG4/BG4T went to be a more "coin-op Gran Turismo" direction and dropped all the Initial D (and Wangan Midnight; there's Aizawa and R200 Club cars) "cosplays". I wonder if Kodansha did eventually tell Taito to cease-and-desist considering how blatant it is in BG3.
I know that this can only be played on a Japanese PS2, so I was wondering if this can work with the g25 or g27 wheel? I know that the Logitech driving force can work on it as I’ve seen a RUclips video of it and it’s still up, but just wanting to confirm that’s all.

Are you playing the regular or the Tuned version? The PS2 version add some cars from BG3T except for the RX-8 and Z33.
