It was pretty weird, seeing a Japanese game at some arcade in Oregon, but the game was still fun as all hell, and all the different cars kept having me putting in more and more nickels. They were begging to be raced! Also, I wonder how the arcade even got the cabinet, since most of them have a warning on startup saying they're only allowed to be used in a certain region. They must've bribed some UN arcade council or whatever, lol

Cant belive that in 2023, BATTLE GEAR 3 turned 21 years old.... I still remembered this iconic game on my PS2. The PS2 Battle Gear 3 has around 66 cars in total whilst on Arcade, it has 70.
I actually played the Arcade version of Battle Gear 3 and i remember it having various touge stages and that the graphics are rather good. I think the cars even had their own detailed interiors!

After BG3/BG3T, the sequel BG4/BG4T went to be a more "coin-op Gran Turismo" direction and dropped all the Initial D (and Wangan Midnight; there's Aizawa and R200 Club cars) "cosplays". I wonder if Kodansha did eventually tell Taito to cease-and-desist considering how blatant it is in BG3.

All of these Asian racing simulators are all similar but Gran Turismo is the most well known one.

Yeah, most likely Kaido Battle 2 / Kaido Racer intro especially that RX7 FD3S drifting shot. But remember, this game was before Kaido Battle 2.
