Stephon Castle is a defensive player. He shooting will improve.
Sorry, I am not a Knecht fan. Give the Spurs Ron Holland, if available.

I enjoyed your mock and I love Reed going to the Rockets. The fit is great and I think Reed will be a great future PG for the Rockets. I comp him to Stockton.
I would trade JG by the deadline for a serviceable backup big man + future draft capital. Move Cam fulltime to starting SG and have a future 3-guard rotation core with Reed (who can play SG) and Amen (who can play SF). What do you think?

The Rockets have Adams as their backup center but I have heard that he might be there just as a trade piece but we’ll see. It’s hard for me to give up on JG since I’ve been watching him for years and know what he’s capable of. He’s shown flashes but still shoots the Rockets out of games sometimes. I’d say if he doesn’t improve by deadline I’d be more okay with since like you said the Rockets are very very deep and have the young talent to fill out the rotation.

@@austin_.warrington Here is something I wrote that includes what I believe is the direction they will take on JG and their young core:
They will make a decision on moving JG by the trade deadline or risk to lose him for nothing, unless they intend to resign him. JG's play will determine this. I don't see them moving Sengun. JG is very inefficient for a SG. He is immature as a player and in his personal life, but has improved his game even though he is inconsistent. His D has improved and so has his passing. Personally, I have never liked his awkward looking shot (release point) mechanics. On his immaturity, it has slowed down his growth to reaching his full potential and now I wonder about his personal life. If I see all this, so do the Rockets. I keep this in mind as the Rockets have huge choices coming soon.
Trading Brooks is not gonna happen anytime soon. I don't even see that the Rockets have been serious about getting Bridges or any other vet to replace Brooks. I believe that most of this Bridges to Houston is just rumors and a lot of it is Nets fans looking for ways to get the Nets' picks back, because they now realize how bad the Harden trade was.
As for the Rockets, the only thing bad about Brooks is the length of his contract and that is not really a big problem. 3 more years, but it drops from 22.2m to 19.9m as the league cap goes up (another great move by Stone). On the other hand, Bridges' contract is 2 more years, but it rises from 22.3m to 24.9m. That is 5 more million on the books in year 2 on a team that will be looking hard to save cap space anywhere, so they can keep as many of their young core 6 (7 if they draft at #3 and not trade JG) together for a long term run.
BTW, (for after next season) Stone had positioned several vet contracts that can come off the books and this is very telling of their intended direction: FVV 42.8m (optionable), Adams 12.6m, Landale 8m (optionable), Jeff Green 8.0m and Tate 7.5m. This totals to 78.9m that they can split between Sengun and JG or just resign Sengun, which will give them more options with vets for the following season(s) and for resigning Eason and Smith...then Amen and Cam...then the #3 pick (I hope Reed). I think JG is the first odd man out, then they will have to decide again on the young core (more than once). Bridges only makes this good problem worst.
In addition, I believe that the Rockets will keep Brooks for all the right reasons, including vet leadership and having great chemistry with Stephen Adams (for next season). The combination of FVV, Brooks and Adams is a huge positive factor (especially when you have only one year with Adams and Brooks together) for a playoff run next season, for which Adams and Brooks have done together twice as a 2nd seed in Memphis. This you cannot get with Bridges replacing Brooks just for a marginable increase of talent at starting SF...don't forget they have excellent options at SF on the bench already.
All the moves that Stone has done are very calculated with the future in mind...this is oblivious and that is his MO, which he is not going to change. To me, Stone is the best (GOAT) GM that the Rockets have ever had and I have been a fan since 1972 when they came to Houston. I have seen all the rosters, coaches and GMs and right now is the best I have ever seen minus Rudy T and the two years they won with Hakeem. Plus, the Rockets have a great chance to surpass those years in winning...roster and coach...they already did on the GM.

Wizards pick drilling-ham and edey, going trade Poole to enter back in lottery!

I wouldn't be mad about Dillingham at 2 at all! Poole might be hard to move to get another lottery pick but it could work with adding the 26th pick in the deal and possibly another pick somewhere. Both players would fill major holes for the Wizards! I like the way the Wizards are starting to look in their rebuild for sure!!
