- Father Thomas Keating related his perspective on the way of transforming difficult situations in our lives. "Know someone loves you", his basic answer, strikes a deep chord when combined with his view on Quiet being the doorway to the true self. From the dimension of this Quiet, the deeper self is made aware - and from this, in each moment, comes the love that loves us.

A true spiritual leader, mentor........he knows the Truth.
This interview moved me. Some of his remarks resonate deeply with Teilhard’s thought, which I’m reading now (and highly recommend). Rest In Peace, Fr. Keating.

The best contemplation , to me, may only come from true love of Jesus as our divine Saviour and Redeemer. The Passion and Cross of our Lord is the proper object of our meditative and contemplative prayers. Going into some indefinitive void devoid of devout thoughts and feelings may make us less human and humble.

I didn't watch this video (don't want spurious ideas to influence my spirituality) but from other things I've seen about this guy, you have heard him correctly, and correctly judged his teaching as heterodox
You may have been listening to the influences of Connie Rossini, Dan Burke, Anthony Lilies etc.... overloading you with so much negative info about Fr Keating that you are unable to process it all, and they will drive you mad with telling you not to listen to Keating and empty your mind of all that unprocessed rubbish. Whose brainwashing is worse or better?
Connie, Dan, and Anthony are Church egotistical dualists, whereas Keating followed in the footsteps of Thomas Merton with intro of nondualism and ecumenism.
