Large quantity of air coming from exhaust.. what should I do?

I have a pneumatic cylinder ( airmax 600 mm stroke length) which is connected via a pneumatic control switch ( 2 way , 5 port) operated by 8 bar air pressure. The movement of the cylinder is slow, irrespective of inlet / outlet air control. There is no leakage in the cylinder. Please advise what could be the problem and how the speed can be increased. Please note that it is a brand new cylinder. Please reply thanks
