Martina, I watch a lot of your videos and I think they’re great but I’m afraid for you and the installing of this fireplace. I don’t know diddly about installing fireplaces but these type of things there Has to be more to it than just stacking stones around it and sealing it, I would hate to have you not have a proper fireplace that’s not gonna burn your house down or injure you or your pet. I would be worried about exhaust and install a carbon monoxide detector.
I would feel much reassured if you would testfire the fireplace for some days prior to putting on the cover plate.
That way you'll find any possible leaks in the make-do chimney pipe connection. And prevent any mishaps forcing you to remove the cover plate again for repairs.

Cover plate will be removeble, so I can easily see at any time what's happening

Still I'd prefer to do a test now. Now everything is within easy reach.
I expect you will be using a stone plate of about 2" thick, which will be heavy. And you will add a stone cladding with the strips you have shown. So it will be a tight fit for cosmetic reasons.
Soooo ......, as far as I know you are expected to fill the space inside - between hearth and mantle - with isolation material. Otherwise the entire mantle and especially the cover plate will get pretty hot.
Correct me if I'm wrong. But in case you see a trickle of smoking coming from under the cover plate you will have to manouvre a hot and heavy cover plate from its tight spot.

Caulk tip: Loosen the coupler sleeve. Apply caulk between sleeve and pipe. Re-tighten coupler. don't forget the plate where the bolts are.

When you have a problem like the chimney take pictures on your phone and then go to the store and ask what they suggest.
That execly what I did, but on the end I need to figure it out on my own
Martina, a tip for the chimney. Check if there are smoke leaks through the exhaust pipe, light the fireplace before placing the stone and closing it completely, if no smoke is leaking through the joints you can close it. When gluing the finishing stones around the fireplace, remember to do it with refractory cement, it is a special cement glue for heat, otherwise your stones may all fall out over time. Goodbye, good work.👍

When you want to seal it with caulking(silicone) make sure it’s heat resistant

silikon "preživi" temperaturo do 270 stopinj. pri kurjenju peči pa bo temperatura šla vse do 400 stopinj in ob uničila silikon. dimnik mora imeti pravilen vlek in silikon ni potreben. zato je predpisana vgradnja detektorja za ogljikov monoksid

staru rupu na dimnjaku si trebala zazidati i izbušiti za 1m višlje, ako si ovako htela onda si trebala uzeti mere slikati odnos 2 otvora i otići da ti to limar napravi sa cinovanjem a ne silikonom, kad budeš čistila dimnjai imaćeš problem...
Ich persönlich finde es sehr leichtsinnig einen Ofen selbst anzuschließen. 🤷♀️ Aber sonst gute Arbeit.
