It's still strange to think that the only animated Disney Princess born without legs is the only 1 who has given birth to a child.
Oooh you mean The Simpsons movie it is soooo funny, you’ll enjoy reacting to that one.

Я знаю.
НО это один из не многих случай когда у героев диснея появились дети.
There was something so magical seeing this as a kid whose favorite movie growing up was the little mermaid. It makes so much sense that the follow up would be about a human girl wanting to become a mermaid, because that’s what we all wanted after seeing the original! This is one of the rare instances where I feel like the sequel almost lives up to the first one!
I like the direction they take with this one, basically a reverse of the first, but it's still interesting. And Pat Carroll did just as good a job with Morgana as with Ursula.
Me too.
She was also in an episode of A Pup Named Scooby-Doo.
A plot hole is that on this movie it shows that Melody can talk with animals because she is half mermaid, but on the first movie Eric understand Sebastian when he whisper Ariel's name
Maybe Triton gave him the ability to understand I dunno
@@artsysabs i mean on the first movie, when he's trying to guess Ariel's name
I do think it’s neat how Melody has a lot of her Dad’s physical traits.
I just realized something; Ariel is the only Disney princess that has a kid.
Unless you’ve seen Disney’s Descendants.
True. But I haven’t seen any of the Descendants films.
@@GunnarBarker Just pointing out they exist, if you’re interested in seeing what the Disney kids are like.
@@ghostspider2056 honestly an old school guy when it comes to what Disney makes. Most of the newer films that they’ve made are terrible in my opinion. But there are a few new films that they made that’s pretty good.

Similarities
Both like to collect things from a place they're not allowed to go to.
Ariel - Things from on Land.
Melody - Things from the Sea.
Both wishes they had something so they could go there.
Ariel - Wishes she had Legs.
Melody - Wishes she had Fins.
Both forget about a celebration their parents planned.
Ariel - The Concert.
Melody - The Party.
Also both had a fight with their parents and went to an evil sea witch to get what they wanted. Said witch does grant their wish, but only for a few days, and wants their family's magic trident. Also both had Sebastian watching over them.
This is one of those sequels that has good animation
Aladdin 2 & 3?
This can’t just be me but does anyone else notice that Ariel’s character arc is a little similar to Simba’s character arc from Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride? I mean think about it, both characters were overprotective parents towards their kids because of their past traumas. And those traumas were brought onto them by villains of their predecessor films
While I like the first film more, TLM 2 is a fun sequel imo. I like the fact that some actors like Tara Strong and Clancy Brown have character roles in this film. Thanks for sharing he reaction, Tim!
Ok I never knew that was Clancy Brown that’s great 😂

This is gonna sound really weird, but this movie is the reason why I know how to tie things behind my back.
You know, sad part is I actually LIKE this movie and a LOT of people complain about it. I didn't even know the new character Melody was voiced by Tara Strong.
There are two reasons why I like this movie:
1) I like the character development and relationship, even if it's complicated, between the characters, namely; Ariel and her daughter, Melody.
2) Ariel's being one of my favorite Disney princess, she's the only Disney princess that actually HAS a child.
Looks like Melody found her Eric!😂❤ 32:13
25:37 Melody upon learning that the triton king is her grandfather, she also has aunts, Ariel's sisters 32:15 It seems that history will repeat itself
23:31 “It’s time for some magic” the way he says it is epic
This is one of my favorite Disney sequels when, I was 3 years old.
I was 7.
I think I was like 8 years old at the time when this came out; 🧐
Fun fact, Ursula and Morgana have the exact same voice actor
*Edit. And this my friends is what happens when you don't finish the video
Ariel's beginning is a prequal to the original move and shows her life as a kid
I didn't get to watch this until I was 14 in 2013 but I absolutely loved it ! It was actually nostalgic, and the bits that feel slow as an adult were the most interesting when I was a teen hehe 😂
Sometimes I can’t believe that Melody is played by the same woman who plays as Raven from Teen Titans, Timmy Turner from Fairly Odd Parents , and Dill from Rugrats. I always thought that Melody was played by an actual child
Wait,she's voiced by Tara Strong?
Dash and Tip give me Timon and Pumbaa vibes
I imagine that Melody stayed on land one week than goes in the sea another week. That would be cool! She can be a mermaid, visit her aunts, play with Tip and Dash. Her life will be fun plus Morgana can't come back so she's safe 🙂
Great reaction! Here’s a fun fact! While the design of Ursula shows her with 6 tentacles, Morgana has 8 tentacles! Also if you check out the Descendants trilogy, you’ll meet Uma daughter of Ursula. In the new film Descendants: The Rise of Red, not only will Uma return but we meet another sister of Ursula, Ulyanna. 🐙🖤💜💚
If you’re going through sequels, I recommend Kronk’s New Groove. Sequel to the Emperor’s New Groove you watched a year ago.
6:22 For some weird reason that's always been my favourite line in this movie -
"Your fault that we can never show our faces in polite society again!"
Just funny in a 'that's what he's worried about?' kind of a way.
Yes, same voice actress for Ursula and Morgana. You can clearly hear Pat Carrol’s voice. R.I.P. to Pat Carrol
They did the same for the french version. There was a bonus at the end of the VHS about the casting of Melody's voice and we can see Morgana's voice actress doing a scene
Morgana is really just Ursula 2 basically.
I loved this movie I used to watch this with my sister she loves this movie, we’ve been watching this all the time.
But why is Ariel the only one who’s a Disney Parent? Shouldn’t they make the other Disney Princess’s mom’s as well
I believe that was the plan but Ariel was the test run. It was not received very well so the idea of giving the rest of the princess’s children was scrapped.
@@TheBre1491 well I can understand why they didn’t want to move forward with the sequels with how bad the ratings received. But it still would’ve been neat to see the other Disney Princess’s to become mom’s to they’re kids as well
maybe they didnt want kids they already had too many pets
One of the few animated movies where the little girl/boy isn't a copy of her mom/dad.
Morgana is way more cooler than Ursula she has Manta Rays and a shark as sidekicks unlike Ursula who just had two electric eels, and Melody is just so cute and innocent she just didn’t know better and had friends there to help her out really amazing movie. Great reaction Tim u are very good at reacting to these awesome movies
Timothée is on the Sequel train. ALL ABOARD!
Tchoo tchoo
Morgana is definitely like her sister Ursula.
The one sequel we didn't ask for and also didn't need, but the one sequel that the world got
I enjoyed watching The little Mermaid 2 return to the sea in the early 2000s when I was a kid I watch it every day on the video tape 📼
At the end of the french version, there was a bonus with the casting for choosing Melody's voice.
The winner, Nathalie Fauran, was only 15 and two years later, she became the solist of " Peter Pan 2 : Return to Neverland "
Unfortunately, this poor girl left this world last July at 38 years old 😢
This movie's story may be a bit lazy/copy and paste from the original, but I'll always love the soundtrack to this movie. Like, every once in a while I'll be minding my own business and suddenly "For a Moment" or the song from the movie's finale ("we're feeling better now, we sing together now, here on the land and sea~!") will just pop into my head and stay there for a while - and you know what? I can't even be too mad about it, lol
The adventures of Melmel, Kiki and Sharona xD
It is just me or Tip and Dash are (almost) exactly like Timon and Pumbaa??
More like shaggy and Scooby
@@morganghostbusters-egonfan nope, because Max Casella (who voiced Tip) was Timon in The Lion King Broadway Musical
@@lucasromualdo7003 Oh
Tara Strong voiced melody back when she was khowed as Tara charendoff
I actually watched this movie I think last week on Disney +. I haven't seen it in a long time until then
Rest in peace, Pat Carroll Samuel E. Wright and buddy hackett
IMHO, this movie's greatest strength is also its root weakness: that it's a reunion movie, bringing back basically every actor it could from the original, which was never a guarantee with these direct-to-video sequels for a multitude of reasons.
As a result, they kinda need to find a role for Pat Carroll to play; as a result, here's "Ursula's crazy sister", Morgana, who we never heard about before at all in the last 12 years, but was TOTALLY there the whole time.
And that one decision, i feel, led to much of this feeling like a retread but with a few things swapped around. I have no problem with the idea of Ariel struggling with raising a kid who's just like her, but outside of a handful of throwaway lines, I don't think this movie does much with it, and I blame that mostly on Morgana being this big Damocles Sword hanging over the plot when she doesn't really do much to justify the dread the other characters treat her with. This is one Disney thing I think could benefit from a remake or rewrite or something.
Ariel’s beginning to be like her father
This movie I feel deserves more love. I use to have a crush on Melody when I was a kid, Disney needs to bring her back for a spinoff cartoon or something!
I wonder if she would of actually maid her a permanent mermaid and let her swim away if Ariel didn't show up
I don't know why people hate direct-to-video sequels to Disney movies since to me when it comes to movies it dosen't matter if they are good or bad to me it's all about the story of the movie. My personal opinion, oh yeah Tim yesterday was my 25th birthday and the next movie reaction I'd love to see you do is Kronk's New Groove the sequel to The Emperor's New Groove when you can please 😁🎉🎊🎂🙏🏻
Tip and Dash are just like Shaggy and Scooby
Dash and Tip are my favorites in this movie
By the way, if you haven’t seen it yet, you definitely have to see Ariel’s beginning. IMO, it’s a pretty good prequel!
So Melody talks to fish. Who cares? Do u know what I would do if I could talk to animals? Everyone’s weird in their own way
Plus the fact that her mother Ariel also talks to fish and animals. It's really not surprising.
I'd be conquering the world with an army of Canada geese.
I love the sequel Ariel is my favorite! ❤
I highly recommend watching The Little Mermaid 3: Ariel’s Beginnings because its the superior sequel and you finally get to know all of Ariel’s sisters and their personalities!
The ranking order for The Little Mermaid media are:
1. The Little Mermaid
2. The Little Mermaid 3: Ariel’s Beginnings
3. The Little Mermaid Animated TV Series (3 seasons)
4. The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea
Your right, Ariel's sisters are developped and charming BUT the villain is lame. A mermaid who's jealous of Sebastian, that's it! Also, Marina couldn't sing well! She was always complaining, has no magic. She didn't manipulte Triton so he would give her the trident. Compare to Ursula, she's not very smart 😂Her pet eels were useless except at the end of the movie when she finally let them out of their cage.
The third one is a Prequel actually.
(At 1:55) except for Flounder.
Oh I supposed to watch him when I was little I love that movie it looks real amazing 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
The penguin and the walrus are the Timon and Puumba in this story..
can’t wait what will you do next tomorrow. 😇
I use to watch this all the time when i was younger, I remember the song at the end. If you enjoy this maybe you can watch Lady And The Tramp Scamp’s Adventure it is a really cute movie and one of my fav sequels to come out of Disney, since you reacted to the First Lady And The Tramp movie.
I’ll say this. I preferred this movie over the the original. It’s cool seeing Ariel be a mom and have her daughter be the complete opposite of her.
Me too.
I wouldn't say Melody's exactly Ariel's opposite or something, it's more like she's the fulfillment of the old parental curse: "I hope you have a kid that's just like you!"
Great reaction to the great movie
Curious question
Who's your favorite character
Ps mine is Sebastian
Sebastian is my favorite too.😉
@@SpacialRend7so is my cousin.
Sebastian is my favorite character too
Hopefully Disney won't make it too long a wait for the live-action version...
I love Melody 🥰
That could've been too easy 4:02
Yay I'm so excited this was always my favorite when I was little
This pretty good except for one thing.its a geology nightmare.theres a icey place where there are penguins which are antarctic and a walrus which is artic
25:27 Bro she is just a kid, this is what happens when you keep secrets from your own kid, and if Ariel explain to Melody why she was being so protective and told her about her family history, none of this would happened.
You should watch the third movie also
Prequel, actually.
This movie is a guilty pleasure of mine. I know a lot of people don't like it because it's just "the first movie in reverse", but it was s much more than that, I think. And Melody is a great character.
Never watched it and only heard of it a few times. I recently watched Rebecca Rose’s reaction to it
Im gonna watch the whole trilogy of The Little Mermaid too before the new one comes out in May.
Interesting that Morgana and Ursula are both voice by the late Pat Carroll
Rob Paulsen did great as eric
Can you imagine them making a live remake of this movie with Ariel’s daughter 😂😂😂
They won’t cause Disney doesn’t acknowledge the direct to video sequels/prequels. Not even in the theme parks.
In this film, Tara Strong sings no worse than Jodi Benson herself.
Undertow and Mr.Krabs would probably get along!
This is my 3rd favorite Disney movie!
The 3rd one is SOOOOO good too!
I love this movie
Awesome reaction
I really don’t mind the sequel I loved watching it growing up because I remember we taped it on VHS then could see whenever we wanted too. Although I do admit it’s like the first one only in reverse but I don’t mind because I always thought Ariel being a mother was really interesting and Melody being so much like her from the first movie was really cute too ❤❤❤ So I hope you enjoyed it and Can’t wait for the prequel 😉😊😊😊 ps: Melody was voiced from the same woman who does Raven from Teen Titans and Ben from Ben 10 😁
And don’t forget Timmy Turner from Fairly Odd Parents
@@isaiahadams1208 oh yeah she did too thanks for the reminder 😄
Rip voice of Sebastian and Ursula
By direct-to-video sequel standards, this was pretty good.
Amazing this actually my first time also watching the little mermaid 2. And I also can't believe Melody, Ariels daughter wants to be a mermaid like her mother too, I want to be part of the sea world too also. But... I don't wanna be a merboy... I wanna be a Squid those are one of my favourite sea creatures. So you can call me, Squid boy.
I had a little crush on Melody. I've always like the sequel; never better than the original, but it was far from terrible.
Ah wish claris reacted as well
So good, it's bad or so bad, it's good type movie reactions?
third one is really good
I hate lies, dishonesty, truth-keepers, and crossing fingers behind your back! That’s what Ariel was: A bad mother!
You're probably tired of me asking, Tim but....... Transformers when? 💪
I mean who wouldn't I seen the same comment in every video he post
few weeks
Pretty please with sugar on top watch The Little Mermaid 3 Ariel's Beginning, and Splash 🙏❤
I like Melody, but the movie is not for me. It feels like Disney just destroys Ariel's character in this one. 😞
She is grown up in this and a mother the first one she was a teenager it make sense
Same. Melody herself was the only thing I liked about this movie. IMO it destroyed most of the old characters (Eric and Triton became boring, Ariel became a complete clone of Triton, Flounder had a complete 180 personality switch), the new characters are just rip-offs of other characters (Morgana = Ursula, Tip and Dash = Timon and Pumbaa)
14:15
Didn’t know Aladdin had a brother…!
👀
Ariel is the only Disney princess to have kids and before you ask Descendants don't count
Woooo, yes!😊
well it's not a perfect sequel but it's interesting to see that Ariel is the only Disney princess to have a daughter melody It's a story in reverse of the first
Instead of hiding the truth to her daughter, Ariel could told her about Morgana as well as told her what she did with Ursula. If Melody knew there's a sea witch, she would be careful! I guess it was more easy to imprison her and lying all theses years. Ariel is a bad parent! I think she worst than Triton. Yes he was severe and yes he destroyed her grotto BUT the king never imprison his kid. He's overprotective but loves her!
I like this movie. Melody is cute, an excellent singer and curious like her mother. The songs are good, the animation is ok, Morgana is smart and manipulative like Ursula... she appears out of nowhere but is entertaining. The penguin and the walrus are like Timon and Pumba, not as funny as them but still likable plus their song have a nice beat 😀
