How do. Got a question about weights and measurements of a D&E license.
On the DVLA website it said “Any bus designed and constructed for the carriage of more than eight passengers
in addition to the driver, with a trailer over 750kg.”
But surely there must be a max weight and length or you could have National Express coaches towing a 44 tonne trailer (with a correct dolly) up and down the motorway??
I’d love to do that run 😂
If info would be greatly received. Cheers

Hi, yeah the rules can be a bit vague sometimes, but a bus and trailer combination is limited to a length of 18.75 metres, and the weight limit would depend on the bus design, and would have a weight plate somewhere on the vehicle telling you the train weight.
But yeah, a Nation Express pulling an artic trailer would reduce the number of vehicles in the road! Haha.

My question would be how many people in the UK have ever sat a D+E test lol. D+E is almost exclusievly gained by drivers who already have C+E when sitting a bus test or who sit a C+E test and already have D.

In Hungary, we attached a wider steel frame with side lights to the trailer, which always shown you the correct position.

Gábor Uzonyi Yes that’s a good idea. We use the trailer for smaller vehicles though, so don’t want it too wide, and we find the reversing camera works really well when reversing anyway.

@@benshawtrainingltd5190 well, your way is also good. Every beginning is hard, but later, with some experience, it just comes automatically 😉
