Looks like this is in my backyard. I live just south of here in modoc county. Thanks for sharing and all the hard work. Look forward to meeting you guys in person some day.
Hi guys, love the videos and your openness to people, sharing and enjoying what God has given us to enjoy . I’m a rock hound and my wife, her sister and another one of her friends, went to the Sunstone Mines in Plush a couple of weeks ago and had a really good time, so we decided to try to find your mine on the way home, Salem, and Googled the map to get there. We spent about 2 or 3 hours up a number of forest service roads, in 2 different be, neither an off road or 4 wheel drive, and kept hitting dead ends or “upturn and go back “ o the google maps. It was horrible, frustrating, hot and my car was broken! So, I’m wondering if you can tell me the name of the road to turn on from hwy 140? I’m coming back to Plush this coming Sunday evening and I’d really love to be able to come up and look for some opals. Thanks for your help and God bless you all. 😁🙏
we went up there last wednesday.I want to come back.Calvin and I really enjoyed ourselves!!We wish we would have met you guys up there.we met jaime!!next time! Are you staying open?I do know the difference between the two.I understand Red Oct 2 is closed which is why we came down last week!We want to help .let us know how !
Very nice adventure.. Wishing you much success in your quest! BTW.. at the closer, your seen wearing a "The Dead South"T-Shirt, would this be from the band? If so I can hear the sounds of "In Hell I'll Be In Good Company". I'd like to think that some time in the future we might have our paths cross and we can share Stories, Lies and Good Times!
Well John your of course welcome at the opal claim any time. Yes, The Dead South happens to be my favorite blue grass groups:) I hope our paths cross soon, be happy to sip on a jar with ya.
Is this mine free and open to anyone or are there limits. Trying to plan trips from Bend with my 8yr old for multiple destinations this year. Hes got the bug big time.
Absolutely is! You'll want to check out Terrapin Rocks here on RUclips! Their mine is open to the public and a HUGE pit. Your boy will have a much more fun there and easier time getting big opals! The two claims are right next to eachother. There are other open dig sites up there as well.
@@hhprospecting7508 awesome we'll have to check yours out as well. Headed to the ochoco agate this weekend. Had a ton of fun sunstoning last year with a great haul. Once he saw fire opal the game changed immediately. He has visions if generators, jackhammer, the works. I'm so excited. He loves science and wants to be a geologist with a mobile excavation team and traveling jewelry workshop.
Thanks for the shout out ! Pepper prospector appreciated it!
