    That’s a fantastic tip about using paper to clean those contact switches. Please never stop making videos and sharing your wealth of knowledge with others. Thank you

    Wow great job, I'm old enough to remember these in the shops, they seemed to be everywhere, always wanted one as they looked soo advanced and futuristic, sadly never owned one.

    Always nice to see these old electronic toys and games getting fixed :) Quite often the problem seems to be battery compartment corrosion or other power related thing.
    Few years ago found from my parents cold storage my old 1983 Q&Q King Kong LCD electronic game and sure enough, it needed a bit of work at the battery compartment. The negative leg didn't press hard enough to the LR44 battery, so bent it a bit, cleaned the contacts even they weren't very dirty and it's been working again reliably ever since :)

      Thanks JSV. Yes battery compartment corrosion does seem a common issue. Thing is I never know what I'm going to get when it arrives off Ebay. It's just usually 'not tested' which means not working:)

    Amazed at how great the graphics are, I always loved those old games, so it's great seeing them being restored to there former glory. You should look into getting a nickel plating tank to really shine the battery contacts up. But once again great video and keep it up, looking forward to seeing more

    These videos are making me nostalgic. I watched that Grandstand Firefox fix you did a few months ago. My dad gave me one of those when I was young and I played the crap out of that one. I think my mum gave it away a few years ago, so I might have a look at ebay for one. Or maybe not. I probably remember it more fun that it would be today and I'd rather keep my memories of that time intact.
    Like your fixes, though!

    just out of curiousity do u sell any of these repaired handhelds because i've been trying to lay my hands on a working galaxy invader either the yellow or orange version.

      I've not sold any yet, although I have been thinking about possibly putting some or them back on Ebay so I can purchase more items to repair. Currently my RUclips channel is like getting pocket money for a full time job...

    I’ve tried repairing my Tony Tronic. It now comes on and play perfectly it then cuts out after a few minutes of play. Before I got it working (a bit) it had bad corrosion in the battery terminals but none inside the game. Any ideas of what to test? It all looks really clean and straight to me. Thanks

    • @BuyitFixit
      @BuyitFixit  Год назад

      Could be anything from a dry solder joint to still a bad connection on the battery terminals or even bad batteries. Have you tried new batteries? Also try tapping it when it's on and see if it makes it go off then you know it's a bad connection somewhere...

    • @jbeef1289
      @jbeef1289 Год назад +1

      New batteries made no difference. Tapping it didn’t help identify where the joint/connection issue was so I heated up every joint with my soldering iron and it now works perfectly. Thanks for the tips and advice. Would never have thought of trying that myself. 👍

    • @BuyitFixit
      @BuyitFixit  Год назад

      @jbeef1289 well done, so guess it was a dry joint somewhere then. Glad you managed to get it all working 👍
