A few objective observations regarding this vlog entry are below: (1) All of the segments involving Jessica, Mike, Connie, and Jay Tingle (when Jay isn’t freaking out around the larger snakes) are always so fulfilling, because all 4 of them have their facts together, and can genuinely enlighten viewers each time they are on-camera. (2) The above serves as stark contrast to filmed segments where it’s just Noah, wherein he both doesn’t have his facts prepared (beyond the animal or animal enclosure name) and he has to rely upon everyone else in the segment (Jay Tomsky, etc) to fill in the large gaps in his knowledge. …and that is nothing new, as viewers have been asking that Noah come prepared with facts and specifics before starting filming for the past several months. Noah, for whatever reason, has instead only chosen to memorize facts about the channel’s sponsors (Factor, Raycon), and not actually learn and share any detailed information about the animals or exhibits. And that’s a real shame. (3) Further underlining the above is that Noah still does not understand what made his father’s “unboxing segments” so popular with viewers. Brian knew so much about each unboxed animal and each newly-born animal, and shared a treasure trove of facts and information on-the-spot as the animal was unboxed or hatched. It was truly rewarding and insightful, and viewers loved such filmed segments. Conversely, all Noah can do is comment how “cool” the animals are, and insert random call-backs to his father about how all of those animals were his “favorites.” Again, subjective reactions are fine, but they are now long viewed as being empty and tired since they’re the only kinds of reactions which Noah seems capable of providing. (4) As yet another repeated constructive critique, Noah again missed an opportunity to bring Steve Bashi on-camera to provide a detailed walk-through to viewers as to how the massive aquarium infrastructure works, and instead again provided merely subjective, vague, and non-specific reactions. If Noah can’t be bothered to learn and share those learnings, why should his viewers be bothered to care? (5) From an objective perspective regarding leadership being shown at The Reptarium, it’s clear from the vlogs that Mike is a zookeeping leader, Jay is an animal education leader (when he again is not freaking out), Jessica is an enclosure beatification/gecko breeding leader, and Melissa is a community outreach leader. That said, to paraphrase a line from the film “Office Space”: What, exactly, is Noah leading? And, more to the point, what, exactly, is Noah’s job? Given the above and viewers’ past observations of Noah over the past 6 months, Noah’s job just seems to be that of an independent RUclipsr who happens to film his channel inside of The Reptarium and The Legasea (with random trips to other locations from time to time). Everyone else inside The Reptarium seems to either be leading activities or working to fulfill certain activities within the operation. Aside from his snake (Agape), Noah has no real responsibilities related to the animals, their enclosures, the husbandry/maintenance of them/their enclosures, the education associated with them, or the management of the operation. And that is quite frankly odd, weird, and inexplicable. Why?? Again, the prevailing assumption has been that Noah will be owning the business one day. But what exactly is he owning now within that business? What can he genuinely say he’s taking responsibility for? What can he genuinely he has contributed to the bottom line success of the business? And again, maintaining the RUclips channel is fine, but any of the staff or crew could do that under Jay Tomsky’s film direction. The only purpose Noah seems to serve is being the character of “Brian’s son,” and infusing the channel with the sentimental and subjective side of things. And again, sentimentality and subjectivity have their place, but Noah again needs to understand that he needs to be more than just Brian’s son who films RUclips vlogs. He’s going to be running the business, and he needs to thus start learning and running activities and pieces of the operation while he still can. After all, if any of the staff or crew or Lori or Steve Bashi or management gets hit by a proverbial bus and are taken out of action, Noah is going to be overwhelmed due to not knowing how to sustain those parts of the business himself. He cannot rely on everyone always being there to carry on those aspects of the operation. He needs to immerse himself in all activities, schedules, plans, back-up plans, points of contact, processes, procedures, and all other aspects of the business to ensure that he can lead when the time comes (and especially if that time comes surprisingly sooner than later). Judging from 6 months of these vlogs which have been hosted by him, he quite frankly seems no closer to that objective now than he did back in the winter. And that (among many other opportunities for improvement which he has either largely ignored or not stuck with for long) is a major red flag.
The girl with the bib overall shorts is adorable. The guy with his hair pulled back in a doucheknot and a little weirdbeard 100% listens to Coldplay and Twenty-One Pilots.
