Agreed .. I came to 8.3 after a year wow pause and I did pvp mostly - now I have to grind mythics to be able to keep up with others and be any use in pvp.. which resulted in boredom so unsubbed and waiting for shadowlands gj blizz

Remember the good times when you grinded honor points for gear in BG’s and learned you class more so you can queued for Arenas? Good times. Plus it was all on part with PvE. Miss the resilence and pvp power.

Correct, We would use conquest to buy pieces of gear from a vendor. It should go back to that format.

This is what use to make wow so different then most games now, having the currency and vendor model. And as of Legions the game became like every other MMO pvp wise. Do pve or play leet pvp status, or get lucky with rng.
This is so stupid. PVP Vendors need to come back that is for one. And for second we need no conquest points cap. So we can play all day and gear up to full. And PVP Power and PVP Resilience on PVP Gear needs to come back. So that a Mythic Plus 40 Man Raider does not have better gear than a PVPer.

I don't want a PVE player coming with higher HP and stats and higher item level just because he did a Mythic Plus Raid with 40 people.
No, I want him to come with his Mythic Plus 40 Man Gear to Battlegrounds and get owned by Conquest Gear (which has PVP Power and PVP Resilience on it).
I want him to come with Mythic Plus Dungeon Gear to Battlegrounds and get owned by Honor Gear (which has PVP Power and PVP Resilience on it).
And I don't want scaling gear. I want PVP Power and PVP Resilience to factor between PVP Gear and PVE Gear.
I want PVE Players to have higher item level but do no damage to PVP Players.
And I want PVP Players to have low item level and have to do PVE to get PVE Gear.
I want PVP Players out DPSing PVE Players in PVP.
I want PVE Players out DPSing PVP Players in PVE.
I want the old reforging system so I can sacrifice a stat to increase another stat of mine.
I want us to Enchant and place Gems on our Gear to increase our Haste, Critical Strike, Mastery, Strength/Intellect/Agility, PVP Power or PVP Resilience of OUR OWN CHOICE!
What they did in Warlords of Draenor like how the gear had Strength and Intellect stat, so you can keep that gear and don't need to buy a new gear because you need intellect and not strength as a healer. That was a beautiful idea!!
All they needed to do was keep the Gem Sockets, keep the amazing Enchantments on gear, keep PVP Power and PVP Resilience on gear, keep reforging gear, keep PVP Vendors (Honor Vendors and Conquest Vendors) and take away weekly Conquest Points Cap and add dual spec stat gear (for example: a sword with strength and intellect for re-spec).
I read and totally agree with everything you just said I wish it would happen but it doesn't look like it. I feel so forced to PVE and I cannot stand it!
I agree with what you're saying about the vendors coming back and having no conquest cap, but I don't necessarily agree with you wanting people who have done Mythic with their guilds and putting in a lot of time to the game to do nothing to pvpers. I like how there aren't any pvp power or pvp resilience "stats" for a character, because should strength or intellect and every other stat have an affect on anyone or anything that comes at you regardless of it's another player? I think they should. Plus, its just as difficult grinding raids for mythic gear as it is to grind pvp all week.
@@thehelper24 Thank You for your reply. I see what you're saying you have a point. I'm just saying Honor Gear should out dps and tank Mythic Dungeon Gear. Mythic Raids Gear should be equal to or slightly better (5% to 10% max) better than Honor Gear. But Conquest Gear should out dps them.
Fine they can remove pvp power and pvp resilience gems and enchants. Just have pvp gear have them on automatically. But pvp power and pvp resilience is a must or else any pve player in 40s Mythic Raid can out dps a Full Conquest Geared Player. THAT IS NOT FAIR. Not fair at all.
@@ninjamasterbro I want them to further on what they're doing now, and make it to where if your rating is at about 2600-3000 or however high it can be, has a chance to drop gear that is RIDICULOUSLY op, because then the people that are working really hard to get their ratings up can have a chance at gear that is about the same as mythic raiding 40+, probably even better. Then that way people that grind their hardest in either pve or pvp can still get THE BEST gear and be satisfied regardless of stat switches n stuff like that. BTW I never minded gem enchants heheh
@@thehelper24 That's a stupid idea. PVP is better than PVE in PVP Grounds (Battlegrounds and Arena). PVE is better than PVP in PVE grounds (Dungeons and Raids).
Also what about those people who want to queue alone and don't want to do Arena, they just want to queue with Battlegrounds.
So you're saying join a PVP Battleground against the enemy team who has 2 grounds of high ratings carrying and owning your team. NO THANKS!

We need PVP Power and PVP Resilience on PVP Gear. So PVE Players have no chance in PVP Battlegrounds until they grind PVP Battlegrounds or Arena.
Warforge and Titanforge is Gay and needs to be put to death.
All Honor Gear and all Conquest Gear should be the same (no Warforging and Titanforging etc).
Any Fully Geared 40+ Mythic Raider who comes in PVP should get owned by a Fully Geared Conquest Geared Player.
So a person doing PVP cannot magically join PVE (Raid on Mythic) without doing Normal Raids and without fully gearing from Heroic Raids.
PVE should have higher item level.
PVP should have PVP Power and PVP Resilience.
Sounds so boring and needlessly complex. Why does Blizzard insist on these convoluted slot machine gear systems. Just make a normal RPG system, I wish we could just craft a decent set.

PvP died for me, when the gear vendors were phased out. I liked saving up conquest points, to then finally blow the points on a new weapon or gear, that I myself could choose. I hate the random gear getting, with the stupid fucking strongboxes.

I am not interested in flaming or starting a fight, but Xaryu and friends, can you honestly say you like this system? All I hear in this video is random, or pre-determined. You grind all week for a weapon and it has the wrong stats for your spec...Like what the hell is that system? Who complained about the old system? Grind bgs and arenas, get honor and conquest, buy gear and prosper. There were different armor/weapons/accessories with different stats because different specs, or even players wanted different stats. Random titan forge upgrades also defeat the purpose of secondary stat weights, as you may want Haste/Mastery, but get a huge jump to a higher ilvl but with crit/vers and that puts a bad taste in my mouth. At that point either the secondary stats don't matter as the ilvl is best, or the secondary stats sim higher then a higher ilvl so the titanforge was useless. Back in the day i could grind out my gear and feel great doing so, and once I bought every piece it felt great. Then I could work on my conquest set and if I didn't max out who cares, I could still do fairly well in lower tier arena and bgs. Now anyone can raid, mythic +, or just get lucky and walk into pvp and have a distinct advantage. Maybe resilience wasn't always balanced or working properly (even though I never really had a problem with it), but what made Blizzard change? Why do pvpers and steamers still play this and white knight blizzard when they should be posting on forums, and fighting for change. Most people either quit, or just accepted the change and went on and we should actually make a stand to get pvp back the way it was. No more of this random gearing!
Perfectly described. Gearing feels so weird. I remember getting 300ilvl, then 340, 350, 360 and I am like, so when am I gonna get any stronger? Not even talking about when you drop that "juicy" high ilvl azerite gear, but wait, it has absolutely terrible traits..

yeah its bullshit man im not the best pvp player by far only just got over 1550 on my lock but ive won a good few games at this rating i would say about 60+ wins (more losses ;) haha but ive only had 1 piece of gear drop from arena and all the shot from the conquest bar was shit am still stuck woth 330 ilvl shoulders because of trait reasons its a joke.
Blizzard has a new strategy; remove any aspect of fun from WoW and make the game as much of a tedious grind as possible.
I'm wondering if the game devs are so sick of making WoW content that they're deliberately sabotaging the game and killing the player base purely to break the game and have a chance to work on a new title.

I dont think he mentioned this but to get the kind of gear shown in this video, you need to grind PvP with a pre built team for weeks to achieive a high enough rating for the rewards to get you to 368.

I really don't get what blizzard are thinking anymore. I get that a good percentage of people don't want everything to go back to how it was in classic and tbh it was basically a different game but as far as systems, gearing, basically everything, just bring back wrath. PvP gearing so 100x better in wrath, pve gearing was 100x better in wrath, the population was (literally) 10x better in wrath. WoW isn't hemeraging subs because it's old, it's because they have the best middle ground systems the genre has ever seen and for some reason refuses to use them. Put PvP vendors back, put PvE vendors back, put gems back, put reforging back, remove lfr, remove titan forging, put pvp resilience back, just put everything back. I could go on forever but really wtf are you thinking blizzard? It's not like it's a close call, do a poll and I'd bet my car %90+ wants PvP vendors back, titan forging gone, and %99 of systems back to the way they were in wrath.
us casuals that dont have time to learn all classes abilitys to be good at arena shoudl be able to get half decent gear from random bgs?

I really wish they would do away with gearing for PVP completely, provide a basic set or base stats, and just let skill decide who is the better team/player. It sucks to be limited by gear to play well.
I compleatly agree with you pvp should be a matter of skill, make pvp gear accesible to everyone, and give consmetics upgrades for those with high rating.
Old PvP player coming back to WoW here. Took a break ever since WoD started (I know, long break). Came to watch this vid after not finding the good ol pvp gear vendors. I gotta say man, my heart is broken in pieces. I don't wanna be forced into slaying dragons. Blizzard: if it ain't broken, DON'T "FIX" IT!
it would be nice to know what gear to use in arena.. blizzard is always so secretive about how they scale arenas. focus on main stat, focus on secondaries? choose lower ilvl better traits over more main stat worse trait? who the hell knows how this works
It looks like they normalize ilvls, so traits and secondary stats are what matters.

Long video for a simple answer. JUST PLAY ARENA AND YOU PASSIVELY GET GEAR. There is no system in the game that lets you focus on getting a single piece anymore. Blizzard apparently thinks the player base cant make the decision of do I need bracers or a belt. So they don't give you shit and force you to play the slot machine and wait for weekly predetermined shitty loot and then another weekly slot machine. The game is just one giant slot machine on top of another slot machine. All of pvp gearing = slot machine and all of pve gearing = slot machine.

PvP is still extremely not newbye friendly. It is just like mythic raiding but much more oppressive for newcomers that want to start fresh.
I personally have no idea how people learn the basics of PvP rating, slangs, ratings or game modes.
I learned by asking my guildies.
Really newbies have to either read a lot on websites or ask experienced players.
Just check all class write down all dmg and Def CDs watch gameplay how the class idea is and what they do. Check combos what's the idea behind the combo. Watch videos and improve your gameplay and at least most important play play play. Maybe record watch after what do to better. Play play play that's how to get better and plaaaaaayy more
It’s not but that’s why there are lfg bg’s which trust me, host a lot of clueless people.
You play enough bgs to understand what other classes do, or alternatively play class trials and see what classes strengths and weaknesses are. It’s a learning curve but then so is PvE to some extent - raids, boss mechanics etc.
The barrier to entry for arena by this point is huge.. arena has been out since TBC so we are 7 expansions deep at this point. The good thing about retail is that there are always new people jumping into arena and learning so there should be tons of newbies to play with.. the hard part is just finding someone. Most of pvp comes down to what classes can do what abilities and have what cooldowns.. once you know that you can figure out how your class responds to that with your own abilities/cooldowns and the rest is just mechanics i.e. practice.
You learn by trying... asking questions and putting in the work... respect the damn grind... everyone wants things to be noob friendly.

I just started after a 6 year break on my warri. Ground my way to 120, world quests yada yada. Although i have 391 GS, i hit like a wet noodle in pvp, in prot and in arms spec. I get obliteratet (and i dont mean that weak DK ability) all day in random BG. Its frustrating a lot and i think about to stop WoW again because i am simply not a bit competitive in BG

MOP and WOD you didn't need high ratings to gear from pvp, everyone got the same ilvl. I realize higher raters that put more time into getting high ratings should be better rewarded. But what happens to someone that does not achieve those ratings.. does it cap only at 355 gears and thats it ?
I can only imagine what Bgs and wpvp will be like, when highly skilled pvpers are 380 geared and the others are 355.
Rbubbaray P your assuming ilvl matters far more than it does a 355 can smash a 380 esp dps it really doesn’t matter as much as it used to now that abilities do % hp instead of just flat damage
@@Da5kone001 I followed this closely.. because that was a selling point for me in BFA, blizzard and most players I spoke to, said gears should matter more in PvP for BfA, they felt legions made gears feel useless in pvp. so I would think a 25 ilvl difference should make a difference.
Rbubbaray P gear matters, but it doesn’t matter much unless your a healer long story short you get small gains for gear increases and every dps ability does a % of your opponents hp this % increases slightly with more gear but 25 ilvl opponents can be beat if you have comp advantage or your better for sure

Can't find any information on forums or reddit etc. I was hoping I could do what you could in every other season and get 2k cr then use marks of honor to buy the transmog set from a vendor at season end. Appears you can't do that meaning I end up with only half a transmog set because of being unlucky in RNG drops. Is this correct?

It's simple, PvP Vendors, PvE vendors, no drops only tokens, choose your own stats... I really don't like the RNG aspect of it, feels like you have no control anymore in what you do. Just random luck for everything.

Joined a BG the second I hit 120 on my Druid (leveled with expeditions so my ilvl was only 285). Can u guess what I did? I topped dmg and was immediately disgusted by the thought that I grinded my main to 370 to get in groups just to find out IT DOESNT F*CKEN MATTER!

Funny how you talk about how to get pvp gear and play well but when it comes to playing with ppl who have a lower skill level you don’t take these ppl in your groups in game.
Why would he? He is doing a lot for people who want to learn, there is no need for him to carry someone or sacrifice the time he plays (and his enjoyment) to further carry others. Listen to him, learn and make your own progress. Just because he teachers, no one is entitled to be carried or coached!

Just spam arenas get at least 2.1k then you'll get decent gear, other than that you'll have to do mythic and kill rares in arathi cause the random drops in arenas and chest you got is actually trash, mostly lower than your current gear

If you mean your cap item, I don't think it changes. Your rating should only affect box drops and the weekly chest loot.

Very simple. m+5 is where drop ilvl upgrades to 355 and caches to 360. +6 has no changes from that, so it isnt worthwhile to make it harder for your self.

I'mma be guessing he said +5 because it was probably recorded the first week of pvp/m+/raid since during that week the ilvl from dungeons were capped (pre-warforge) at 355, which was a +5. Other than that, obv run +10s for the best gear.

How to gear for pvp lmfao this is actually supposed to be a 10second video. All it needed to say was SPEND YOUR LIFE IN ARENAS. If you dont you simply wont be any good nor make it far at all. It's the same jokers in the arena finals and the games leading to blizzcon. If you know anything about WOW arena pvp is an absolute joke and this is coming from someone who knows all too well how much time you would have to spend to be any good

brody cronkwright this is very worth noting. If you scrape 320, you can spam warfronts non stop and get a 340+ piece EVERYTIME along with the original quest 370. I’ve had multiple pieces drop ranging from 340-365 just from finishing the front itself. This was my avenue into arena (I play disc so not going in with green gear) from there you get better gear etc etc. But good starting point - warfront spam!
@@Ackz89 Warfronts are not PvP, though.
iNELUKi at the time you finished levelling and ended up at like 280 lvl, you needed 320 to get in warfronts then that was a good avenue up to 360 ish which was fine for arena and bg at the time.. it was a bridge.
Where are the guides on how to play PvP? I know there are profiles out there streaming, focused on a specific class or spec for PvP and stuff, but to get into PvP as a mainly PvE:r and as a underpowered and harder to do well with class, it's pretty non-existent as far as comprehensible guides go.
Guides are coming later in October. With the expansion being new there's been A LOT of changes leaving some classes playstyles unstable for guides.

Method Xaryu - I guess my comment was more of a general attempt at getting someone to make a guide on how to play Elemental in PvP. And I already have found a lot of info on that but still, it’s lacking I think. And PvP is honestly the one part of WoW that Blizz hasn’t made “accessible”.

Best bet is to find someone that is good in pvp and willing to teach you. Videos help alot but you will learn far more from hands on experience just like in life. A person that will do games with you and explain the process is number one way. And it's much easier to climb the ladder with friends that are good than strangers. If you ever look at top players their friends list is massive. Not because they are popular, it's because the select people they add are good at the game. What you know plus who you know
