    • @NizRacingNY
      @NizRacingNY 4 года назад

      Joshua Ford Judge didn’t do anything to come close to warrant an ejection. He said what he had to say but didn’t even turn his head to look at the ump. He did with complete class and professionalism. Umps respect and appreciate that. Once you look at the ump and say something, making it obvious to everyone around, now you need to tread carefully because you’re showing him up and they do not take kindly to that. As long as you don’t stop and turn and say what you have to say quickly without going on for too long, you can pretty much say whatever you want without getting on umps bad side, unless it’s super derogative.

      I was an umpire for many years and NEVER judges a strike or ball based on glove location, in fact, if I noticed the glove moving a lot, I'd probably be more likely to call it a ball, because if the glove is moving that much, it's just announcing to everyone that not even the catcher thinks it's a strike. If it's close, a good catcher will, in my opinion, leave his glove where they caught the ball for an extra moment just to give the umpire extra time to make a call, umpires call that "buying a strike"
