Two part molds require two separate pours and registration marks so you can pull apart the mold and bring it back together perfectly to cast whatever you need to cast. As soon as I saw you doing it that way I was like "how is she gonna find the super thin petal inside and how is she gonna separate the two parts needed without registration marks and a single pour?" 😅 Stunning work as usual anyway 😊❤
In the 1930s, sequins were made of electroplated gelatin. I’d love to see a cake with gelatin sequins! Maybe a bag, or keychain, or stuffed animal that has a reversible sequined pattern?

This is exactly how it's done. However, I'm not sure it will work for something as thin as a flower petal. Whatever is injected or squashed inside will be thick in some places and thin to empty in others due to the sponginess of the mold. Plus all your petals will end up looking identical. Molding putty is probably your best bet in this application.

Hi Natalie, I think you should try making a cake of a slice of watermelon cause the texture would be challenging to replicate and it would be very interesting to watch
I could have told you that the Silikone you used for the first mold can't work that way😅 we have the same stuff at work. The liquid will always bind together. So the only way this MIGHT work is to put the mold half way full of silikone, put the leaf in it and let it dry! Then you have to isolate that half against the other half of the silicone, maybe with Vaseline or better wax. Then put the rest of the silicone on top and let it dry again. Otherwise the silicone will bind to the other side and you have the same problem again😉☝🏼

You need to pour the first layer,put one side of the patel and let it dry completely. Then you apply a little bit grease/vaseline/butter spray and pour the second layer of silicone. If you pour both layers at the same time,then both layers infuse together and its hard to remove🥰
You have to let the first layer dry in the mold before you can pour the second layer I’ve learned this from experience I decorate cakes as well and I love helping my fellow cake decorators I hope this helps ❤

I saw another youtibe channel make a 2 sided mould using liquid silicone and what they did was pour the bottom and place the object (it was a key for them, then let it dry, spray it with moukd release then do the top pour over the key and silicone while still in the mould box, i know that would take a while but i hooe it helps

Actually it's the pedal itself. Because the box was spaced away from the pedal and because you places it in the middle rather than the top or the bottom so that thinness of the pedal and the gapping between mixture and pedal. It would be different if the object wasn't thin.

I think the model mishap is partly because you didn't create a barrier between the two halves. When I have seen others do two part models they pour in the model medium then the object being modeled then they put a layer of some other produce, Vaseline or baby powder then they put the reset of the modeling medium.
Yeah, for the red stuff, although I've never used it, I thought: She'll never get this out. Why doesn't she do, what everybody does? What everybody does: pour the bottom half, put in the object (aka the petal) and some dowels or something. Cure. Take out the dowels, powder it with baby powder and pour the upper half. The dowel thingies are for registration, the baby powder, so you can actually pull it apart. Hope that helps

I called what one was it right away but not because it was obvious or anything. I just picked the tulip vase because it seemed like something you would do and I was right ^^;

For the petal mold, I suggest you pour different colors for the 'below' & 'over' the petal. This way you will have a clear visual of where to cut

That would take 2x the original time, which already is about half an hour.
It looked pretty realistic, but I felt the buttercream that connected the tulip to the stem was a little too messy.
I suspect the vase and flowers right off because the pot looked more like unglazed and fired clay
