That level of anachronism and oxymoron unusual for sci-fi makes 40k unique. Wizards coexist with cyborgs, super-soldiers wield swords, tanks have plasma guns and WWI tracks...
I love these games, you're the only channel doing Apocalypse at this scale. but you have to stop running every game as an attacker defender scenario, as in every single game you stick masses of heavy armour behind a defensive line and rush close combat armies against the defensive line, and every single time the massed imperial army behind a defence line obliterates the enemy, I think every single game this has happened. Try a different scenario, perhaps make both armies move towards the centre, it would make a way more fun and add more dynamism to the game than a close combat army walking towards a wall and being shot off the board by massed artillery and armour.
Super excited to see another Apocalypse game, but also turned off by the "New Apocalypse" rules, to me its not nearly as satisfying as rolling hundreds of dice for one round of attack. I do understand the appeal of quicker large games like these though and simplifying it down a bit. I doubt you have the time to dedicate a month to playing this same game "the normal way" but I would love to see this game played out the older way. Models look fantastic as ever though.
It is also not at all fun to go second in the old style and pick up all your models after the other player gets to put 10000 points of shooting into you.
@@EAfirstlast before new system we would just alternate units per phase. I.e MOVE you move one, i move one, repeat until, PSYCHIC you cast cast power, I cast power, repeat until, SHOOTING, You shoot with unit, I shoot with unit, repeat until, CHARGE, and so on and so forth. makes it a bit longer but much more fun imo, and it's apocalypses, it's supposed to be long.
Yeah in previous editions this channel always did large apocalypse battles using the regular rules and it was so much better, no one ever cared for the apocalypse rule book especially when 7th rolled around which allowed the use of super heavies whenever you wanted thus making apocalypse rather obsolete, the new one is lame, I don't care if it's more "fair" for both players.
Who ever goes first removes half the army of the other player. Much fun, glad I showed up to have my entire army killed because I didn't go first. Love it.
Me and my friends have a bastardized version of both rule sets, its alternating activation like Apocalypse but all the shooting and stuff is regular 40k . it just feels better that way,
Did the orks manage to kill any super heavies?? Also I think what really swung the game was the charges by the death core of krieg and templars. Really prevented the orks from being able to get into the imperial lines before turn 3. If the orks had manged to go first and push forward it would have been a much closer game I reckon.
Gonna be honest I'm really not keen on the new apocalypse rules. I get that it's there to speed up the game but I just dont like how it changes the game. Any chance you could do some 3k battle reports? That way you still use the normal rules for warhammer but still get a big battle.
And to this day, Stompa's are still horribly overpriced for what they can do. GW's staff must have been smoking some bad crack when they came up with the points value for it. Also, this scenario is broken. Defenders should never go first. They're ducking and waiting for the attack, not ambushing the opponent. They already have a huge advantage by being in cover. Allowing them the chance to go first is very short sighted.
I'm pretty sure this scenario is supposed to be played with the defenders having 75% of the attacker's points or less. The rules should've been more explicit that this scenario shouldn't be played with 2 equal sized armies because it is grossly unfair to the attacker.
Amazing artwork and so good to see massive armies but I wish the camera work had been a little steadier - a bit less panning. I’ve gotta say, those Stompas look incredible!
always love seeing that IG tank line in action. I think the delaying moves by the Imperium in the beginning is definitely what won them this game though i must say i do think the orks get boned by only going three turns. Lots of choppas still left on the board at the end. I would like to see these same lists in a different scenario, as Si H said it does seem to be a lot of assault armies charging a massive gun line and then losing to time constraints.
Great game thanks for getting those 12 hours in to 2 hours! Tbh I would have liked to see it go for another turn though but 12 hours is a long time, hope you kept hydrated. Looking forward to more of these big games.
Superb battle! Excellent armies! Great fun to watch! I know it would be difficult to arrange, but, why not film over 2 days, have 2 videos released so you can see it through to conclusion? Ihad a feeling the orks could pull back a little after they broke through (not a complaint, im a guard player lol) Great work
Can someone explain the rules to me, only ever played much smaller games. Is the blast markers etc just to speed it up, does this not disadvantage better weaponry as they’re just ‘large blasts’.
Wow! Incredible! I always look forward to seeing a new battle report pop up from you guys, but this has taken it to a whole new level! Best 40k content on youtube hands down! 😁 thanks for the awesome videos!
Awesome idea ! I am at deployement at 37min,from the armies, I recon it will be a easy victory for Imperium. Will see. The Black Templar did not really play fluff with his 5 captains but no Chaplain, Lt. or Champion... One question. Apocalypse is a new game. Did all the players involved created their lists with one by one Detachment activation in mind ? It's a big part of the gameplay to have coherent groups. For exemple, i you put a single Shadowsword in Aux. HS, it's a shame as he will fire alone instead of 100 infantry or 4 Tanks, etc. Also no sponsons on the DKK tanks... cheers to this fair player for using them wysiwyg for such a fight, it would have been a mess otherwise.
Ahhhhhhhhh, amazing! I just found this by chance (after watching two of the other Apoc batreps). Guard vs Orks. Perfect! Oh no, it's the Apocalypse rules. :-( I like some of the mechanics, but I do think it lacks flavour. How do you like it?
Awesome game! Wonderful to see soooooooo many models. The Ork stuff looks great, love the coversions. Like so many Ork games, deadly in close but take so long to get there. Great stuff! Thanks :)
Was cool to watch.. but yeah those Stompers where just sitting ducks to a DISGUSTING amount of super long range firepower of Guard tanks/artillery/heavy weapons. The Stompers seemed to be struggling to reach targets while pretty much every big gun could reach them.
Please hit the Thumbs Up, comment on the video, and 'Share' with others...it really helps! Thanks guys, and enjoy our biggest Apocalypse yet! WAAAGH!!:)
Bring me everyone.
What do you mean ev..
EVERYONE!!!
Can’t wait for another one!
First look:
Oh cool, a small game of 1000 points between orks and guard. This should be cool.
Clicks video:
Oh. By the gods.
You mean: By the Emperor!!
No, he means the gods. Gork and Mork.
Me too. I thought so too
You thought it was a 1000 point game...
BUT IT WAS I, *A 20000 POINT/ 1000 POWER LEVEL GAME!!!*
creed and a baneblade, shadowsword and a titan = profit?
big stompy robots versus dudes riding in on horse back. this is kinda why I love 40k. XD
I’m always surprised that there are still horses in the 41st Millennium
That level of anachronism and oxymoron unusual for sci-fi makes 40k unique. Wizards coexist with cyborgs, super-soldiers wield swords, tanks have plasma guns and WWI tracks...
If I'm not mistaken those calvary guys are deathriders from the death korp of krieg
I like seeing WW2 vehicles converted for the orks. Upscaled M3 Lee makes such a good battlewagon xD
I saw the m8 scott first and I was like wait, is that... it is!
also the german tank destroyer and halftracks are great
Imagine being a guardsman, seeing a group of brave space marine pilots fly overhead, only to immediately get shot down by a hail of rockets and slugs
well they are guard from Krieg and Cadia so maybe like a typical Tuesday lunchin

Regular rules at apocalyptic scale > apocalypse rules
Change my mind
Oliver BODMAN I know and I love their videos I just would rather have half the number with regular rules

The more into 40k you are the more it makes sense. I look for the day where I understand 100% of things
The size of that game was.... huge. At some point you just can't reach units anymore.
Absolutely incredible amount of miniatures and painted to such a high standard, great video
The Beast is rising, that is an apocalyptic size waaagh, If any one can stand up to the onslaught of the orcs it's an Imperial alliance!
You had to go and upload this before work didnt you
lol:)
if you optimize it you can roll your body weight in dice in one attack if you have that many points
I don't collect anymore (not since the late 90sl but its great to see high quality painted armies on this scale on utube. Good luck good format.
Victory in the name of the Emperor! Cadia Stands!!
Just want to salute and tip my hat to the gentleman wearing the Sabaton Bismark t shirt!

No they killed none. Yes being blocked on both flanks really slowed them:)
I'm almost sure I saw some lego bits in that ork army...as it should be
A guard defence battle of epic proportions
This has to be one of the most fun things to watch/play
Perfect
