    While "vacationing" in Warsaw at the bus depot I met and shared a cigarette with three "escapes" with brand new id's courtesy of the Russians.
    The younger one and I attempted to communicate, as neither of us understood each other but for a few words.
    Coming from the war torn eastern oblasts on a journey that might have been months long, he was still shaking from his experience, as it must have been a horrific ordeal.
    All three spoke Ukraine and Russian, were of service age and two had apparently been conscripted for service in the Russian forces but had been crafty enough to use it to their advantage and had somehow escaped.
    All three were animated with anger for the Russians as they had lost everything save a pocket of zot change and nothing else that I could see.
    Sadly I had little to offer but encouragement as they made it clear that they intended to return to their destroyed homes as soon as they had something to take with them.
    I sure hope they made it back home and find some sort of peace there.
    Huge thank you to the Poles that are welcoming complete strangers into their country, no questions asked.

The cat's out of the bag now, and there's no going back. The total amount of destruction to Ukraine families and the grief they have and are now suffering is hard to measure. Putin and the Russian Army are guilty of War Crimes on a vast scale. If and when this war is ended it will take years to rebuild Ukraine and Billions of dollars. They need hope and encouragement to face the days ahead, especially for families like the one featured in this video.

Millions of Ukrainians have fled their country to seek refuge in other bordering countries because of this war. I want you to show me by posted videos on You Tube the Russian schools, apartment complexes towns and cities that have been blown to pieces with no running water, electricity or sewer systems working. Russia invaded Crimea in 2014 and killed a lot of people while doing that. And you have the nerve to state what the Ukrainians are doing to try to get their country back. Crimea is not part of Russia, they took it by force, they are the Invaders. Most of the Nations that make up the United Nations voted to condemn Russia for the unprovoked Invasion of Ukraine. When you are younger time moves slower. All your connections become more meaningful. What this girl lost was as powerful as any loss anyone can imagine. That dog was probably her best friend and might as well have been her child. The horror of having to witness or even imagine what life you care about goes through when you can’t save it is unbearable. It speaks to their fascism that they don’t even seek forgiveness from these people but torture and ridicule them. No matter what they tell this family they will never be one of them. One of my uncles who passed a few years ago was raised in Japanese internment camps in America. I don’t think he would ever really think of himself as American and that is comparatively less horrible. If the Nazi party had imposed ethnic cleansing throughout the world I don’t think any of the people who survived it would have ever thought of themselves as German. Instead, the seed of revolution would grow through unforgivable trauma. What people like them have to grow and struggle through makes them powerful and intelligent leaders when the time comes to right injustice. It is important in day to day life that victims are there for each other and that the world is their for them. The most difficult thing is keeping the situation and your captors from tearing you down. That is a day to day struggle that needs constant and powerful sources of hope throughout peoples lifetime. Even if the hope you hold is not something you think you’ll feel in your lifetime you have to hold it for others.

The Japanese internment camps were not meant to be punishment but were simply a ham handed way to make sure Japanese spies and saboteurs did not have access to American society during the war. The US tried to make them as comfortable as possible knowing that the overwhelming majority of Japanese interred were not guilty of such crimes. They had movie theaters and cafeterias, barber shops, salons etc..., of course they couldn't leave but they were definitely not tortured. This is nothing like what the Russians did.

    • @Angels-3xist
      @Angels-3xist Год назад

      @@efone3553 No, you are correct. There is no comparison and this was noted in the comment you are responding to. Examples of the ethnic and cultural cleansing via the Nazi party were intended to exemplify that there is no difference between removal of culture even if there is no comparison for how they attempt to erase it. The comparison that I was trying to make based of personal reference was that even in the best of circumstances people who are unwillingly pulled into a different culture and society do not necessarily belong to that and are likely unwilling to ever belong to it. It was not a comparison to the horrors of Russian occupation vs Japanese internment but to express that on either side of the issue you cannot co-opt people’s culture. Cultural genocide comes in all forms and it does not matter what form it takes as far as it not having any power over what people hold onto. You cannot take culture by force even with comfort.
