Lol cuz Xbox has sims and battlefield and Diablo 4 and many many many things I can’t play on switch.
If only the OLED model has a slight pump in performance it would've been easier to justify upgrading my Switch.
As a oled owner if you have a perfectly fine switch and thinking about getting the oled it’s definitely not worth it but if your switch is beat up or damaged it’s worth the upgrade since the dock is great and the 7 inch display makes a big impact

If you have a switch already and are willing to pick between an OLED model switch and an Xbox series s any person with somewhat of a working brain would choose an Xbox series s because the OLED can barely be considered an upgrade from the base model switch besides the OLED screen and a few minor changes. So the fact that this new switch model is priced around the same as the Xbox series s is information people should definitely know before they consider wasting their money on this new model of a console they already have instead of getting a very good current generation console especially with how scarce most of these consoles have been recently.

I recently bought the oled model and it's my first switch, to be honest i love it more than my $3k pc. Hooked it up to my tv and im obsessed with zelda

If you can find it, i highly recommend Astral Chain. It's an action-rpg switch exclusive by Platinum Games. That or nier: automata end of yorha edition, also by Platinum. I promise you won't regret it!
I upgraded from the 2019 switch to the OLED, and wow, the colors are amazing, finally I can appreciate the graphics of the console, the difference is even more than ps4 to ps4 pro
I love the care in the details like the simple ASMR of the clicking joy cons. Nintendo gives you an experience in and out of the game.

It’s kinda crazy how now I’m TOTK you can indefinitely be in the slow-mo state, it now only depletes your stamina when you actually use your bow(well at least for majority of the bows)
But I thought that the Oled capacities were only appreciated when playing in portable mode, that’s just the capacities of the TV

This is the switch that should've came out in the first place, the ones before it were prototypes and we paid for it all
TBF to Nintendo, at the time, OLED screens were CRAZY expensive when the Switch first came out. They've dropped a lot in price since, hence why Nintendo can afford to buy and use them now.

I only bought the OLED because I was late in the game buying a Switch and said sure why not have the latest one for a bit more of the cost. Loading times and frame drops is still very much an issue on the OLED. But, I'm just happy to have a switch at all to play Smash and BOTW.

Honestly my opinion on the OLED Switch, as it was the very first Switch I have owned, I see myself playing it more due to its portability and very good screen. I have also recently bought a pair of Binbok Joy cons which are very comfortable than the regular Switch Joy Cons that came with my OLED. I would say it’s kind of worth it? I only really love it for the portability aspect of this console… so yeah.. I would say get it.
This review came from a person who owns a PS5, Xbox Series S, Decent ASUS Rog Strix Gaming Laptop. Just if you are wondering.. I often really use my Switch instead of my other gaming devices. But take note, what I really hate about the Switch is that all games are so expensive and they VERY VERY rarely go on sale, especially the actual good ones. Because if you look at the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Xbox Store, or PC, most games (especially the actual good one) you will see are mostly often on sale, I don’t know why the Switch (Nintendo) doesn’t. Anyway.. that’s my review, hope it helped!

@FartJiggly Yes, I was able to grab the ‘Legends of Zelda Breath of the Wild’ on a discount for (-33%) $53.59 and my most recent purchase, the ‘World War Z’ for (-35%) $34.57. They’re pretty good games, but I would (personally) still prefer playing games on either a PlayStation or Xbox. Games like Fortnite, World War Z, etc. I would not recommend for Switch, but if you do plan on only playing Nintendo Exclusive Games, then I would recommend it.
@FartJiggly Definitely true! I agree with you. Like do you how the Nintendo Switch OLED is literally almost the same price as the 64GB STEAM DECK but the Steam Deck is much more powerful in terms of hardware. If only the STEAM Deck had removable controllers (like the Joy cons) I might’ve picked that up instead. Way better and you will also be able to play some High-End PC games.

I upgraded to the oled from the switch lite and is so worth it. Gives me more motivation to play it especially when Docked. And I got another oled for free the next day it got the delivered lol

I just picked up an OLED model since I had some gift cards and my partner was able to get me a little bit of discount.
I have to say while it would definitely been nice to have gotten some sort of improvement for when it's docked mode, it's well worth it for primarily handheld users, particularly for folks who have the original 2017 Switch model. For 2017 owners you get:
-Enhanced audio
-Better kickstand
-2x double the battery life in most use cases
-General design improvements (better aesthetics to doc and tablet, dock less likely to scratch screen)
-Larger screen
-2x the internal NAND flash memory (less useful for folks with micro SD card expansion, but still a nice to have as NAND flash memory provides the fastest loading times)
-Of course that gorgeus OLED
I consider the upgrade very comparable from DS to DS Lite. I have been honestly been replaying all of my games to cause they look that much better, it feels almost like a new experience, similar to rewatching movies when I upgraded from my old 1080p plasma TV to a new 4K Dolby Vision LED TV.
I think an interesting comparison would be to do an eye test of how ports look on Switch OLED vs the much more Powerful Steam Deck that uses an LCD. I actually think playing games on weaker hardware with the OLED will improve the look of many games more than the extra power of the Steam Deck with an LCD screen, particularly extremely colorful games or games that use a lot of shadows in its aesthetic.
This game was the only reason why I bought a switch.

Bought mine in japan for 200 euros. Lets be honest for most casual gamers performance does not really matter that much, its more about convenience, ease of use and fun.
