Hands look a little more moisturized today, nicely done. ;P Thank you for posting these videos, my girlfriend won't let me have any invertebrates in the house, so I have to live vicariously through your videos.
I need help. I am trying to care for my verrucosus beetle, but 90% of the time she seems to only be interested in going back and forth along the glass trying to get out of the terrarium, she has stopped hiding almost entirely and just goes back and forth scraping the glass. There is more than enough ventilation, water, food, and hiding places. It is a pretty large terrarium (48"). Is there any way to entertain the beetles or improve their quality of life? or do you think she is constantly trying to get out for another reason? Thank you
Aquarimax Pets, hows it going? Have you noticed a change in activity level in your beetles from photoperiod? I have been shortening the days for my beetles and allowing my room to get a bit cooler at night and their activity is much slower and less frequent. Have you experimented with this at all? I feel it may be important to give them these natural winter like conditions.
Hi Jaden! My beetles are slowing down a bit. I haven’t changed the photoperiod yet, but the temps are naturally lower. I may want to...in many parts of their natural range, they do seem to hibernate.
@@BrandonSuarezYT Great question! the underside of the males’ antennae are much fuzzier than those of the female. You will likely need magnification to be able to see it. 👍🏼
