Ablett was up there with the greats...but nowhere near say, Syd Coventry...nowhere near.......check out Coventry's record...across the following headings...first to play 300......first to kick 100 goals in a season......held total career goal kicking record for 55 years until Plugger took it.......captained 5 Premierships.....played in a record breaking 4 consecutive Premierships...won the goal kicking in his last year at age 37.......leading goal kicker six times.........leading club goal kicker 15 times in 17 years.....there's more but I cannot remember them all....oh yeah...kicked 17 goals twice, and kicked 15,14,13 so many times that he couldn't exactly remember them all when asked......and represented Victoria 24 times.......and I'm betting there's more.....
