- Inline skating and rollerblading has had some incredibly good looking skates but for every good aggressive inline skate there has been and ugly rollerblade.
I thought I’d covered them all last time but there was more and you let me know about these rotten rollerblades.

I remember opening my box of USD Psirus ‘team’ & thinking oh dear, I’ve made a mistake here. Oxygen Argon 3.2s got me into the game so I’ll be eternally grateful to them, although they looked rotten & were as uncomfortable as skating two breeze blocks

Say what you want about the Nemesis, its still the most comfortable skate I have put upon my feet.

I think the fatty is more comfortable. Its a shame the nemesis don't age well.... they fall.appart so bad... I recently acquired some pay lennons but they are dust
Low cut oxygen argons might have been ugly but the baby blue ones for me with the plastic souls inserts were amazing, those things were unity and savannah machines... everything was so easy to lock on and throw on those things.

Those oxygen argons… woof! I got those skates back in ‘95 instead of the K2 Fatty and I’ve never regretted a decision more. Instead of light and nimble, I got heavy and stiffer than concrete. What a mistake

@@rollforever_85 Don’t get me wrong, I managed to make them work (by taking an angle grinder to them and chopping off a major portion of the cuff). However, I think they redesigned them after a couple of years. They redid the soul “plate” material and took some height off the cuff to make them easier to do royales in.
Friends of mine had the K2 Fatties and my skating would vastly improve when they let me try them. Having 6 pound blocks on your feet doesn’t do anyone any good.
@@eyespy3001 yeah my friend had the low cut Argons in gold and they did look less bulky than the original Argons. I had RB Chocolates before we both switched to K2s. I think the fact Hoang Phung used Argons for so long was a testament to his skill level haha.

I admit that the Oxygen Argon is not the best looking skate. However, I owe everything I know about finally doing handrails to that skate. It was amazingly slow for some reason when grinding down a handrail and gave me and most of my boys the confidence we needed to finally go from benches and ledges to legit rails. I quickly switched to Fattys, but the Argon was the first ever skate I used on a legit handrail.
It’s defo and iconic skate but like you said not the best looking! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
@@TomMoyse that's why I switched quickly to Fattys brother. Lol. My favorite skate of all time, however the original Fattys constantly snapped at the boot rivets.
Man i got the Jon Julio Usd Psirus sent over from the states to here in Australia when I was like 13, opened the box and thought wtf have I spent my money birthday on??? Heaviest skates I've ever felt. They even threw in this whack ass pair of free Usd shoes with the skates as like a consultation prize or something, I think they were like Josh Petty shoes?? I only got them because they didn't have thrones in my size, turned out the psirus was like 2 sizes too big anyway.

Oxygens were one of the best if not the best at that time. Backslides for days. Champion killed it with them too

I had the oxygens in multiple levels of their evolution, I think they were excellent skates for the time. So much so, I bought a new pair of AR1.0 and that's my everyday skate.

@@TomMoyse not to me and I've skated all 3 in the last year to 6mos 🤷♂️ idk the actual weight on any of the skates, just how they feel on my feet. The oxygens are lighter, that could just be bc I'm partial to them. I learned how to skate on those way back when
@@TomMoyse They were heavy at the time vs K2s and M12s before those got soul plates but nowadays they're nothing special. I have a few still and they're actually really comfortable skates even for just rolling around. The shifting cuff bolt on the outside was neat too.
I measured some of mine: Argon 9-9.5 US flat 2036 G, Argon 10-10.5 US flat 2182 G, Mesmer 9 with Carbon 4 liner 2004 G, Classic Throne 9 with Kaltiks flat and Carbon 4 liner 1926.
I loved my poppies…then stopped skating for 20 years 2 days after getting them

CI-5 was my first skate and ill never say they looked good. But i did put probably over 1k miles on them. They were very comfortable
Back in about 96/97 I wanted a pair of K2 Fattys but my dad refused to pay £220 for skates that I was “just going to rub on curbs all day” (he didn’t like me grinding!). So I had to settle for the Out Poppys for £150. My goodness they were horrible! Although they looked foul, they were good for grinds & they lasted a long time 👍

I normally have a fairly clear idea in my head of what image I want to match what I’m saying - then it’s just a case of searching. Takes a very long time but I like to do a good job. Thanks for the kind words 🤝🏻
I quite liked that model of Genesys back in the day. Still do now a little bit, unfortunately.. The rest are heading straight to Room 101 though

CI-5 were worse in photos than in person. Loved mine. Coolmax liners, replaceable soulframes with rockering, and CDS had a good kit for them too 👍🏻

@@TomMoyse Haha! Do bananas look tan/khaki over there man? I guess if you let them get UV baked long enough... They weren't all that different than the Salos at the time, but perhaps the plastic mix aged differently?

I had a pair of those OG white rems, they were great skates but my only complaint is the V cut at the back was a bit too deep, other than that they were spotty dog! The newer ones look like you could unwrap them to find the actual skate underneath 😆

They slid incredibly slow too. and you hung up on the steel soul plate inserts. just bad in every single way. they have to be the worst skate of all time lol

I still have mine in my basement. They weigh roughly 6 pounds each when you include the liner.

THEM skates have a very clean aesthetic and tend to provide the best fit from what I hear 🙌🏻

I always found O.U.T.s to be Oxygens with subdivision surface applied to them. Fun fact is that O.U.T. brand was involved in the original Remedyz boots.

But I’m not agree about The golden Oxygen Argon. They were really nice looking in reality.

Generally yes, I prefer cleaner, less over engineered looking skates. M12 and Cults have always been good

@@TomMoyse Agreed. That’s why Them and Mesmer are at the forefront of the “cool” side of inline skating. They have a clean, minimal aesthetic in their boot designs, unlike skates from Iqon and even Razors, which are overly designed and have some questionable design choices.
