While I can't say this one is my favourite (SA's my personal favourite) house set I can certainly agree to the rest. It feels an awful lot like everyone had fun creating their arrangements and that really does spread!
sharpy748 SA is a close second for me, but it's also my favourite Touhou soundtrack in general. I think what impressed me the most about this set is that Rin took a soundtrack I didn't think anything special about and made it come alive.
Musicians tend to get better at perfecting their works over time. I can say that it can be a good example of both the source material and the person remixing have learned a lot over the years of making their respective works. Which ultimately will hope to impress fans new and old.
BlackRockRenegade I'm not so sure that's what this is, though. IMO, ZUN has always been an excellent composer even going back to the PC-98 days. As far as Rin goes, I think I liked this set because it lacked any slower songs. I love high-energy, fast paced electronic, and in this set, even the "slower" songs were still pretty energetic. Mist Lake isn't exactly the fastest song, but it still manages to have a strong energy behind it, whereas tracks from older sets like The Hall of Dreams' Great Mausoleum just seemed too tame. Subterranean Animism had a higher ratio of those faster songs, therefore I like it more than, say, the Ten Desires set.
Yep, still coming back to this one. Favorites of the set are still Thunderclouds of Magical Power and Primordial Beat ~ Pristine Beat. The drums in those are so addictive, and brilliantly done!

I think this is my favourite set yet, there's a certain energy in every song that really brings the entire thing together. Love it, as always.
