@hobbeekid it's not bad stock... a lot stiffer suspension than my 250X i used to have... i love the stiffer suspension, makes it feel more like my 250R... I stiffened them up a little bit, got a full pipe, rejetted the carb, and did the smog block off... makes a hell of a difference!
@FlatBlackBurb I took my 450 out for the fist time about a month ago,Man what a tractor! definitely power where you need it! I won't be doing any performance mods until I get more used to the bike, I did add more compression dampning on the front forks,and increased the rebouund dampning on the rear shock as it tended to want to kick me in the ass and endo everytime I went off a jump lol!! I didn't like the gas tank I received,way too big and might make it ill handling so back on ebay!
@hobbeekid 4 gallons might be a bit much unless your racing baha....but i race alot of hair scrambles and i didnt quite like the way it tracked at high speeds so i had a friend of mine who does good work adjust the suspension. im not quite sure but i think he turned the rebound up helping the wheel stay on the ground, not sure but it handles speed a bit better.
I just bought a new 09 450x myself from Hollister Honda haven't had a chance to get out and ride it yet. How does it handle Stock?Have you messed with the suspension settings yet to make it handle better? I'm trying to read up on suspension adjustments before I hit the trail plus I have a ims 4gal tank on the way for it.
my wife and I are new to riding, is there a good amount of trails like this at hollister that aren't too hard to ride for beginners? this one looks fun.
Looks like a a cool place to ride ... Nothing crazy with a nice fast flow to the trail/track & the dirt looks great there ...

My 06 450x motor is pretty loud. Kinda annoys me at this point. Just got new valves last spring.

there are tons of of trails for beginners, it is rare to find an unmarked trail. wether they are one-way or two-way they will be marked.
