awesome bike - wish I could give it a go... what are the drawbacks, or your least favorite parts

MX Training Range. Biggest drawback for everyone. I race enduros, so I need a bike that can go 120 miles.

So the bike as traction control built in where you can't spin the back wheel? That would be great most of the time, until you need to do a pivot turn and slide the rear wheel around in a tight space, or going around a track and you want to steer by the rear. Still for most of us, that's not really a concern... Looks fun. Did you get to hill climb at all? I'd be curious to see how it climbed Oaky or Gold Hill....

fredman1085 The bike has 4 different modes that can be switched on the fly. 1 is where there is the most "traction control", and 4 where the power isn't limited at all. It was way more torque than a normal bike, so lighting up the back tire would be no problem at all. And as far as hill climbs go, this bike felt faster than a brand new KTM 250xcf, so I'm sure it would have zero problems.

did it feel like a mountain bike?

Trail Bound co It felt more like a mountain bike than a normal dirt bike does. Since you don’t have that inertia from that piston/crank, you can really lean it side to side with no effort. I felt like I could pick any line I wanted and “hop” side to side on the trail with ease.

It also felt like it had more power than a new 250xcf.

id never go electric. one of the main reasons I love riding is hearing that sounds of an engine, power you can hear and feel. this takes away most of the fun, idk. electric? theres nothing like pulling in a clutch

whats the fun in that? wheres the thrill? shit, buy a fuckin electric scooter and ride it down the block if u dnt want neighbors complaining, an electric dirtbike, fuck it. might as well get that electric scooter and throw some dirtbike plastics on it. lame. a true dirt bike one with an engine, weather it be a 4 stroke just ground pounding the floor at idle when you first start it or the sweet sent of a 2 stroke, electric will never ever replicate that true feeling of owning a real dirtbike.

These bikes are fun, and they definitely are fast. And don't say other wise until you have ridden one. But I'm not a firm believer that they are the future. As of right now I view them as more of a toy than anything. I am an offroad racer, and I would not be able to finish a single race on an Alta.

Here in the UK a lot of trails (byways) are being closed to bike traffic because the noise pisses off walkers and horses. Quiet electric bikes could help the arguement to keep the trails open to bikes. It is the same with MX tracks and motor racing circuits. In the UK we dont have the luxury of putting tracks in the middle of the wilderness... its a crowded island.
