    It's been a life goal of mine to learn this song. I found the first tutorial years ago. At that time, I was realizing I was transgender. Life got busy... I never finished learning the first part of the tutorial. Fast forward many years, I've fully transitioned, fulfilled other life goals of DJing at a festival and writing a song I'm proud of, and I'm finally getting back to learning how to play this track. It's awesome that you recently posted this video and the accompanying pronoun update. Thank you so much for finishing it!

    I really appreciate you coming back after all these years to teach the third part. I only wish you did a part three that had the breakdown of what keys to press like part one and two. I have part one and two down and can play them now without even looking at the piano, but it’s hard for me to tell which keys to press down for part three. Any chance you could do a breakdown of part three that fits the way you taught part one and two? I know it’s a lot to ask.

      Thanks for the kind comment, Andrew. That said, to be honest with you I don’t plan on going over this song again on this channel. I’m doing enough free labor lately as is and have no plans to become a professional youtube person. Thanks so much. This song touches the soul in so many ways, and I’m so happy to begin to play it.
    Like other people commenting, as a beginner, I’m happy to not only understand, but watch you go through it again and again.
    You’re being you really helps to pull it together for us, but after repeating repeating going back repeating (no time for commas or breathing when going back),
    I could begin to see.
    Also, I had to research chords a lot. Take snapshots of them and confirm.
    What is the G Flat you used? I see your fingers but couldn’t find it anywhere online.

    • @sethutkc350
      @sethutkc350  2 года назад +1

      It is (I believe, I’m not sure which part you’re asking about) a particular voicing of a Gb major 7 chord. Otherwise the other Gb chords are just normal major triads. Sorry for the late response, hope this still helps somehow. Thank you for your kind comment.

  • @kwilliams5260

    I'm somewhat new to piano. No lessons and I got the first 20 second down to tee but i keep getting confused with the minor chord shapes as I don't which minor chords contain a major key and which minor chord requires 3 minor keys if that makes sense.

    • @sethutkc350
      @sethutkc350  Год назад

      I think i know what you’re asking? let me see if I can help - every basic minor chord starts with a minor third (two notes which are 3 half-steps apart) and then a major third on top of that (this third note is the fifth of your minor chord, and it will be 4 half-steps above the second note in the chord).
      With major chords it’s the opposite - you start on the root, go up 4 half-steps to get to your major third, and then you add a minor third (3 half-steps) to get to the fifth of the chord. I know that’s a lot of numbers with slightly different meanings, but hopefully my explanation here helps! Happy practicing!

      I’m happy to help! So glad folks are learning this song.
      PS: I appreciate the effort with your language, but FYI “thank you” works just fine in my case and for most non-binary folks, second person pronouns aren’t replaced by third person singular. First person singular (she, he) would be replaced by “they” but you remains just “you”. Just so you know! Thanks again for the awareness and effort!

    It's great you finished the tutorial, but this one was the most difficult to understand and see what you were playing. I liked the 1st 2 tutorials way better. I dont know the names of cords, so that probably doesn't help me understand this tutorial very well, and it is not easy seeing which notes you pushed.
