November Rain is a popular song by the rock band Guns N' Roses. It was written by Axl Rose from possibly as far back as 1983 before it was eventually published in 1992. An 18-minute version of November Rain was recorded in 1986. The album version of the song is almost 9 minutes long, making it one of their longest. i have a 105-year old great grandfather sitting in a nursing home, staring out the window in his rusty old wheelchair, not saying a word or moving. He was like this since the fall of the soviet union he loved so much. the nursing home has a grand piano, and the pensioners love it because i'm the only visitor they get anymore. This wonderful old lady Phoebe wants to see my 'repertoire' so to say, and asks for these very notes( you should know that I play most of your songs )to be played. Everybody loved the new song, and the same nondescript look my grandfather always wore. then, Phoebe asked for a personal favorite of mine, Katyusha. I played the beautiful intro, and when i got into the melody part, i turned around, and saw my grandfather' eyes sparkle, and he started singing along. for the first time in my life, i was hearing my great grandfather's voice, and hear him speak. everyone was silent, and then everybody started thanking me, and rushed off to meet him, since he was the first one there. so thank you, SMB, for allowing me to meet another person i thought would never say another word in his life.

this year has been hard for everyone around the world and it was also rough for my mom who not only lost her job but unfortunately her momma as well (not covid but cancer). this is one of my moms favorite songs and its not much but ik that if i could learn this and surprise her with it it would make her happy and proud. Guns n ' Roses probably best describes the music this band writes. Their hard rock is like bullets, penetrating and sticking hard in the mind; songs like November Rain are like roses, slowly enchanting and making you go with the tune.
so beautifull composed. i always play this song every november to keep my memory of my passed away friend in november many years ago and was huge guns and roses fan and had learned all their songs on guitar.. its such a beautifull piece of music even just the piano alone.

What is November Rain written about?
“November Rain” is based on the short story “Without You”, written by Del James and published in his book “The Language of Fear” a few years later. The story is basically about a rock star, grieving over the death of his girlfriend, who had committed suicide.
