I swear, if I could get a piano to sound like that, I'd never stop playing.
I don't have words for how impressive this is. Not only is this technically flawless, but the arrangement is superb. It captures all of the emotional range and power of the original, and yet it has a cohesion and fluidity that the original just doesn't really possess. And I'm pretty sure the coda was intended to be played on the piano; the intricate filigrees and crashing chords sound absolutely amazing!

You have to start first.
The original would have been laid down in layers under studio conditions. That really kills the spontaneity. Alex has delivered the piece in her own style with full emotional talent. Simply stunning.

This is going to be the most fantastic cover I've ever heard. This woman is so extraordinary talented and open with her whole life just absolutely beautiful and how she plays and enjoys how she plays it's just the most fantastic presentation I've ever seen. She is so talented and beautiful the way she plays she just has the music in her soul she lives it brings it she is absolutely the life of music on that piano look at her go she just fantastic not missing a single note or nothing all the way up and down the keyboard every scale everything. The most fantastic presentation ever better than it was originally written. This woman should be given an Oscar and Emmy academy award for all of it my God so gifted and talented. God is blessed her with such a talent.

P.I. Tchaikovsky had a similar emotive flow that resonated powerfully..so powerfully that he was limited in his day for fear of rising too many people up together as one in a way that was deemed "danger to established power" ..it is a tremendous power and a gift to connect with EVERYONE..
I was thinking the exact same thing... For most songs, it's essentially just cords (and just a few at that) and the singer sings to the cords. She makes the piano do the singing, and the drums, and the guitar, etc (if that makes sense). I mean, I can almost hear the words coming from the piano.... My daughters (age 9 and 11) are having been taking piano lessons for a few years. I really want to show them this channel, but I don't think they know most of these songs.

I've noticed in all her covers that despite the fact they are piano covers she has mastered the art form of knowing how to put her own flavor and definitive polish on the covers to make them authentically hers. Especially on songs like this where the originals actually do have piano parts in them. This talent is what separates someone from being good and being great on the instrument they play. Gamazda you are great!
I disagree with this comment for the fascinating area to me is how equal she plays this song as it was sung and played by Axl Rose live in stage. She could have her own spin and would excel but this is a masterpiece and true reproduction as it was intended to be heard . If Axl sings you wouldn't hear a difference

Well she doesnt, because Its recorded before and played over with out recording the sound. Everyone does it, UNFORTUNATELY!
The biggest giveaways to notice is her left hand constantly plays higher and lower octaves yet the low notes stay the same without changing and also her right hand sometimes playing more than you hear, and sometimes hearing less than what she payed...
Anyone who denies this would be an insult to musicians and the non-musicians viewers out there, everywhere who still care more about the true performance, rather than whatever "looks better"...
Regardless of the video, she played this from the heart complete with the odd wrong note. This level of work won’t happen with sheet music getting in the way. AND RUclips is notorious for poor synch of sound and vision.

The sound may be recorded on different gear in studio. But she's really doing a great job of combining the two... Feeling the song multiple times in a roughly consistent fashion
