First time watching your videos! I’ve been trying to learn how to accurately draft a pattern for myself, and this really helps! I like that it’s straight to the point and easy to understand. I was shocked to see that you were making both the front and the back in the same go, which really opened my eyes on how to go about pattern-making. Thank you for the video!🙌🏽✨
I never seen before !! Make me try to do it again in past 10 years of my life (Born :1977). I believe fashion is energy can help people be happy. #Love from thailland
This is great! Basically you only need two measurements, the bust circumference and the Center Back Neck to Waist. I will try this with my dress form. Thank you very much for this tutorial!
Could you, please, recommend a book that teaches this basic technique? I also interested in learn how to make a pants basic pattern. Thanks for your help :)
I find it really hard to pattern draft, I have already done my bodice, skirt and pants/trousers but I just would love to memorize the steps and do it without referring to a book, but I find it hard because I don't know the reason for most of these steps. Thanks for the video
Hi. The video is so informative for a beginner like me who wants to learn fundamentals of pattern drafting for the basic female bodice block. I wanted to know which among dimensions should I consider: at 5:36 mins,1.2 cm (highlighted in red marker) or at 5:41 mins 1.4 cm (highlighted in white marker)
Hello, thank you for your great job! I have a question, what does "waist/4+1-1" mean, I don't understand "+1-1". Can you help me? P.s. I was happy to read about your education project!
Good question. Even I had the same query. I would be glad if the instructor could reply to our query. I do follow your instructions carefully. Your reply means to me a lot.
Hi :) I've seen this video many times. And when I put my bust 84/2 + 5 = a 92cm bust: / But when I put Bust 84/2 + 2, so I can get to the right number :) Thank you for these wonderful videos.
I make clothes for dolls so the arbitrarily measurements cause me problems. If I knew exactly what they were for I could adjust them. Suchbas bust/6 + 7.

How to make basic pattern for menswear?
I am drafting a bodice according to your video. This a dumb question, but could you explain Bust/2 + 5 (mm?)
It means the measurement of your bust, divided by 2, plus 5 x
@@teganeva 5 cm ??
@@ldr580 I'm pretty sure centimetres yes, as that's what the rest of the measurements are in and visually it doesn't look like it's in inches :)
What system do you use?
I adore these videos.
It would be great if there were some references to the reasoning for the measurements.
Thank you 😊
Great video. Love your work
great video. please does anybody kno if the measurements in centimetres or inches?
he said its in cm
Hej 👋. This can be used for any size, or only for a size similar to the mannequin you use? Is it like universal? 😁 Thank you🌄👍

Hi, Please help me with this.
at 0:46 BUST/2 + 5 means BUST/2 + 5 cm or 5 inches?
It’s cm
@@THEMODELISTESTUDIO Thank you so much for replying :)
Thank you
Omg waiting for this the wholee day. Just want to ask, is the measurement by cm or inches? Or mix of both? (I.e 1/2 bust + 5 (is it 5 inches?))
Janeil Sapida the measurement is by cm :)
2.54 cm = 1 inch, and 5/8 inch is about 1.6cm. I'm going to need to find a calculator before I attempt this. :D
Thank you!!! I'm not familiar with cm, but diff going to attempt this one.
Will this method also work for men? Maybe minus the darts?
Only women
@@THEMODELISTESTUDIO Thank you!
I know you are working in cm, however (+7+5.) Is it 0.5-0.7 or 5cm -7cm?
its +5cm and +7cm
I make clothes for dolls so the arbitrarily measurements cause me problems. If I knew exactly what they were for I could adjust them. Suchbas bust/6 + 7.
Is the measurement based on cm???
yes
great video, the technique is different from the csm one, did you go to bunka?
Are the measurements in inches?
he said its in cm
@@bigbabyg thank you!
❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
It would have been better if you could have had share the measurements of this project
its cm
The motions and instructions were a little fast for me. But great work!
What the meaning of these symbols
@/3
@ is result from the calculation -> Bust/20 + 2.9
so @/3 means that result divided by 3. Hope this helps :)
This method more looks like bunka..but with limited reference points than that
or cm
Give us a voice over at least.
